TRANSITION TO SENIOR SCHOOL

Over the past few years, a dedicated transition program from Year 6 - Year 7 has occurred. This program has evolved over time and had several benefits. Last year, the Year 6 teachers taught the Year 6 students at the senior school three afternoons per week in Semester 2. Each teacher was responsible for planning, teaching, and assessing a specific KLA. Students in turn were able to develop several beneficial skills in preparing for senior school. Some of these included: organisational skills, adapting to different teaching styles and learning in purposebuilt rooms (Art room).

Transition program for students in Year 6 in 2020, will begin in Week 3 Term 3 and continue for the remainder of the year.

Each week, Year 6 students will be taught by Year 6 teachers in the senior school on a rotational basis.

The electives the Year 6 students will study in the senior school include:

Art Food Technology Wood/Metal Technology Agricultural Science Chemistry
