A MESSAGE FROM OUR EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR Throughout 2021, the Greater Maryville Chamber of Commerce has continued to focus on your business through our three pillars: promoting, connecting and advocating. The sum and diversity of all members makes your Chamber the single most powerful voice for the business community. You will read about the accomplishments of this past year in the pages of this annual report thanks to our incredible staff, generous group of Board of Directors, and our wonderful membership. Each year we continue to add initiatives to promote and advance your business interests by providing opportunities for networking, visibility and credibility, celebrating success, advocating for your business interests, and supporting the economic health of our community. On behalf of the Board of Directors, I would like to thank all our members for their commitment to the Chamber. We encourage every member business and their employees to participate in Chamber events and programs. Your participation is what makes those programs successful. Meeting the Needs of Our Members COMMUNICATIONS AND ACCESS TO INFORMATION The Chamber continues its efforts to engage members and the community through its websites, social media platforms, electronic newsletters, and email communication. These outlets allow the Chamber to remain on the cutting edge of digital communications as well as provide traditional forms of communications to our membership.

2021 Highlights JANUARY
Virtual Resource and Job Fair The Chamber worked with Nodaway County Economic Development (NCED) , Northwest Regional Council of Government (NWRCOG), Northwest Missouri Enterprise Facilitation (NWMEF), Nodaway County Services, and other community partners to host a Virtual Resource and Job Fair. Following completion of a community survey to determine what barriers the community was facing in securing and maintaining employment, it became clear that the resources existed to address some of these issues in our area. This event connected resources and employers to individuals seeking both help and jobs. 26 individuals pre-registered for this event, and several meaningful connections were made, resulting in job vacancies being filled for several of our members.

First Friday Coffee: Family Guidance Center Legislative Coffee The Chamber hosted Representative Allen Andrews and Senator Dan Hegeman for an informative Legislative Coffee on May 18th at the County Administration Building. The event was well attended, and the Legislators answered questions about the CARES Act, Budgetary concerns, and Wayfair legislation.

Ribbon Cutting: Hype Nutrition Annual Chamber Banquet SEPTEMBER
Meeting with Commissioners The Chamber worked with Nodaway County Economic Development (NCED) , to approach the County Commissioners regarding expenditure of American Rescue Plan Act (ARPA) funds. The Commissioners were supportive of a plan to explore the ability to spend ARPA Funds on recovery loans on a revolving basis because of our meeting.
First Friday Coffee: HomeInstead Plant Manager Meeting The Chamber, alongside NCED, met with area plant managers to discuss current issues facing our industrial sector. Together we explored shared concerns and potential solutions related to staffing issues and COVID mandates.
Maryville Citizens for Community Action In-Person Career Fair: Northwest Missouri State University Together with community partners, the Chamber helped to host an in-person career fair. 19 employers attended in person and more than 40 posted openings on the job board. 149 job seekers attended.
OCTOBER
Maryville Host Lions Presentation Our Executive Director was invited to present at Maryville Host Lion's October meeting. She discussed her vision for a strong and vibrant Chamber focused on meaningful connections in the upcoming year.

Ribbon Cutting: Home Instead Ribbon Cutting: Advance Services Maryville Citizens for Community Action City Manager Greg McDanel presented to our group about progress and plans for the South Main Corridor project. Members were able to ask questions and discuss concerns with Mr. McDanel, and view a map of the planned improvements.
NOVEMBER
First Friday Coffee: Wells Bank Ribbon Cutting: Hearing Care Partners BOSS Coffee: Fantastic Fido's with Tad Gordon - the Hangar Manufacturing & Healthcare Vaccine Mandate Preparations The Chamber and NCED gathered Human Resource representatives from out area's manufacturing and healthcare sectors to talk through recent vaccine, testing and PPE mandates that would affect their workforce. Working together on solutions, the Chamber and NCED have gained the support of County Commissioners to expend ARPA funds to help offset the cost of testing and PPE purchasing to assist with mandate compliance if it is upheld in court challenges.
Collaborative Efforts - A Very Maryville Christmas The Chamber brought together area retail establishments, the City, the County, Downtown Maryville, NCED, local print and radio media, and the administrator of a local Facebook page to bring our community a calendar of coordinated events and maximized advertising budgets that culminated the final week of November into the first part of December with Makers' Monday: a Pop-Up-Party featuring local cottage businesses in three locations, carriage rides, and lighting ceremonies triggered by a "Grinch" selected through votes by donation to charity. Collected donations of $730 were awarded to the Nodaway Humane Society in this year's Grinch nomination period.

Giving Tuesday: Home Instead "Be A Santa to A Senior" Home Instead put up a Christmas Tree at an area Member business, decorated with the Christmas wish lists of Nodaway County seniors in need of a little extra holiday cheer. The Chamber promoted this collaboration during their Very Maryville Christmas campaign for Giving Tuesday. A total of 45 seniors' wish lists were fulfilled through this partnership.
DECEMBER
Shop Small: Uniquely Nodaway Partnering with NCED for the second year in a row. Participating businesses were able to give out raffle tickets allowing customers chances to win a portion of over $3500 in gift cards and $2500 in cash prizes. The Member business who originated the winning $500 "Grand Chamber Prize" was also awarded a $500 print and radio media advertising. Ending with the final cash giveaway on December 20th, more than $427,000 in sales were generated for participating businesses in this campaign.
First Friday Coffee: Nodaway County Services for Individuals with Developmental Disabilities Ribbon Cutting: Pocket Park Chamber Social: Nodaway Historical Society Leadership Maryville: Class 35 The Chamber kicked off it's 35 class of Leadership Maryville with a full day retreat facilitated be Dr. Tim Crowley. Leadership Maryville serves to nurture and engage the leadership skills of potential and current leaders by providing an atmosphere that stimulates and fosters diverse viewpoints, resulting in innovative answers to the critical questions facing our community. We look forward to the growth and development of this group of leaders.
