ABOUT THIS GUIDE Florida A&M University Athletics is visually represented by a series of closely related logos; the sum of these marks comprise the Florida A&M Athletics brand identity. This guide is intended as a resource for both internal departments and external vendors who apply the University’s athletic brand identity. It was created to ensure consistent use of the athletic department’s logos, symbols, colors, and typography across a wide variety of applications. The following pages are the unofficial policy of Florida A&M University as it pertains to the reproduction of its athletic identity. All logos and artwork depicted within this guide are unofficial trademarks of Florida A&M University.
THE IMPORTANCE OF BRANDING A brand is the culmination of all of the experiences that one can attribute to a particular person or organization. Many components make up the brand, including the visual identity, traditions, apparel, and positive and negative feedback, just to name a few. Cohesion, frequency, and uniformity across the organization is crucial in defining an effective brand identity; a lack in any of these three areas can unravel an organization’s brand presence. While the logo is the outward and visual representation of said organization, it cannot sustain the brand by itself.
