If you look at almost any type of business after a recession, it hardly looks the same as it did prior to the recession. After all, some key people have left the company, many of the employees have been let go, the inventory has dwindled down, and the customer base has shifted from good longstanding clientele, to just about anyone that would come in the door and pay you just about anything for them goods, services, or products that you provide. After the recession is over your business once again will change this time going to hyper-drive so you can handle all the work that will come at you, as much of your competition is no longer in the marketplace to compete. This means you must ramp up your business very quickly, give excellent service, and weed out the clientele which is more interested in taking advantage of your low prices, pitting you against your competition, and getting more services or products than they pay for. Likewise, post-recession business plans must take into consideration and be careful with cash flow concerns, and new capital expenditures. If you are caught flat-footed as the business cycle expansion period comes forth, you will not only lose business, but you will be sending the best clientele to your competition, leaving you with only free loaders. Now my question is very simple; do you have a post recession business plan? If not, you very much need one. It is something that cannot wait. In fact, as a consultant, and as a former nation-wide franchise chain founder, I've been through quite a number of recessions. So please heed my advice, the time to start planning is now. Think on it.
