SOLACE is conceived as a contemplation hub . While smoking is a bad habit, the feeling you associate with that could be changed. The ambience creates a muse and individuals will be dominated by an omnipresent quality of light. The Neon Ribbons located on the beams shine on the drop ceiling and reflect across the space. The metalic spectral quality of ceiling make the experience subjective where every moment changes as you navigate the room.
Randomly slanted panels on the ceiling scatter the Neon Bar Lighting located across the beams.

Cigar Cafe’ spatial breakdown. the hung installation is the main spectacle that scatters the light throughout the space. It emits a sense of awe and subjective view of the hung aluminum panels makes every glance truly interesting.

The DRAPERY at the entry creates a mesmerizing view. It also serves as a buffer between the harshness of the exerior and the soft and animated interior. It is designed to diffuse the Daylight intrusive radiation while turning into a glowing spectacle during the night.
MYSTIQUE is conceived as an animated backdrop that invokes a sense of awe. Instead of emphasizing on the physicality of light , it renders light as phenomenon. The suspended draperies cast a soft glow across the space, causing the inhabitants to feel as if they are the main subject or on a movie set. The shimmering effect at the entry creates an ever-changing glamour and prepares people for the membrane-like materiality and luminance quality inside the building. The main gallery comes to life when suspended lights located inside the fabric boxes turn on and off based on different control schemes.
Considering the hotel is a host to the world of Hollywood, idea of skirts and drapery seen famously on many actresses came to mind. The translucency of such material also adds to the mystery and delicacy of the space. The array of hung fabrics in the lobby is conceived as frames in a film reel that is animated using real-time control scheme. box-shaped thin fabrics break down the scale, while at the same time giving a glimpse to what is beyond overhead.
MAIN GALLERY is conceived of as a series of frames. A grid of fixtures suspended across the gallery will allow the room to be animated via different control schemes. switching between different layouts animates the space. Diffuse and ambience light is intended to draws the eyes upwards looking naturally for the source of light, while the Reception area and Lounge bar are expressed in accent light, as a focal point. The LIGHT FIXTURE is encased in a perforated object that casts a shimmering ambiance throughout the Entry Gallery.
The array of suspended fabrics across the main gallery serve as LIGHT BOXES. The hung tube lights are situated deep enough that there is no direct light, Instead a soft reflected light shining from the bottom or the top. Translucency and indirect illumination create a shadow-less space. This will shift the dynamics of the space on the subject. The glory of light turns into the backdrop, like a movie set.
