A Monthly Newsletter by Masjid Bani Hashim, Jumeirah Islands, Dubai Issue #25 Dec And never say of anything, "I shall do such and such thing tomorrow." Except (with the saying), "If Allâh will!" And remember your Lord when you forget and say: "It may be that my Lord guides me unto a nearer way of truth than this." Shall I say or not ََُّشا َء اهلل َ ني ْ َ أin shaa Allah, if Allah سبحانه و تعالىwills. If you ponder over which Islamic expression is most used and misused in our daily conversations, then I think you will agree with me: In shaa’ Allah, If Allah سبحانه و تعالىwills. We hear in the above verses what Allah سبحانه و تعالىwhen He سبحانه و تعالىwants us to utilize this noble expression. When you plan to do something, then you have to say ََُّشا َء اهلل َ ني ْ َ أas this makes you realise that you can only achieve something if Allah سبحانه و تعالىhas decreed that for you. This expression is to be used when you are intending to do something in the future, you are accepting the fact that despite all your plans and efforts, the ultimate source of the accomplishment of your plans is Allah سبحانه و تعالى. One thing is for sure, you will only mention this expression if you intend to take a certain course of action. You will surely not add this expression when you are asking Allah سبحانه و تعالىfor something. Regarding your duaa, you are directly speaking to Allah سبحانه و تعالى, who is telling you that you ask Him and He will give you. So how can you use the expression, if You will? Allah سبحانه و تعالىhas already willed and hence you are asking Him and His promise is true. So when you ask, you ask by using Allah ’سبحانه و تعالىmost beautiful Names and perfect Attributes and ask with conviction and no doubt on achieving the object of your duaa. Allah is Al Mujeeb, He will surely respond to you in the best manner and at the best time. So please, no to “in shaa Allah, Allah will give me a promotion, a child, etc” Yes to “In shaa Allah, I am planning to attend the lecture tomorrow”. Alhamdulil Allah Rabb al alameen Wa salato wa salamo ala Rasulil Allah

not buy this donkey even if it was given free." At that point, Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: "By Allah in whose hand is my soul, truly this world is more worthless, truly this world is worthless in the sight of Allah ( )سبحانه وتعالىthan this dead donkey in your sight." Sub'hanAllah truly this world is worth nothing and this realization is very important for our youth and old alike. And what better way than to learn about the sahabas- the real heroes, the real superstars (who lived their lives in close proximity with our beloved Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) with a sincere intention of imbibing their correct understanding of the Deen and their ways of getting closer to Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى.
Alhamdulillah, Allah has made it easy for the people of this generation to acquire knowledge and to go beyond what is considered the norm. Typically one looks up to a successful person in the dunya sense as one's ideal. But for a Muslim, dunya is nothing but a carcass of a dead donkey. Prophet Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was passing by the markets of Madinah and he (sallallahu alaihi wassalam) came across a dead carcass of a donkey, which had been rotting for a few days; a nasty smell was flying out of the donkey. Flies were buzzing around it; it was really an unpleasant sight. Then he (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) looked at the donkey and then he looked at the companions and he said: "O my companions who amongst you will buy that donkey for one dirham." The companions looked at the donkey and they replied: "O Messenger of Allah, we will not buy this donkey for one dirham." And then Muhammad (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: "Then who will buy this donkey for half a dirham." The companions then looked at the donkey and they said: "We will
This issue's Superstar is one of the bravest that the Ummah, indeed the world has ever seen, the one about whom Abu Bakr (radiallahu anhu) reportedly had said that women will never give birth to the likes of this great warrior (Ibn Kathir, Al-Bidayah wan-Nihayah). He is known as Sayf Allāh al-Maslūl ( ;سيف اهلل املسلولDrawn Sword of Allah) -- He is none other than Khalid Ibn Walid. The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) said: 'What an excellent slave of Allah: Khalid bin Al-Waleed, one of the swords of Allah, unleashed against the unbelievers!' [Tirmidhi and Ahmad from Abu Hurayrah, Sahih Al-Jami' Al-Saghir No. 6776] Khalid (RA) was born c. 592 in Mecca. His father was Walid ibn al-Mughirah, the chief of the Banu Makhzum clan of Quraysh. Walid ibn Al Mughirah was known in Makkah by the title of al-Waheed "the One". Khalid (RA)'s mother was Lubabah alSughra bint al-Harith. Walid ibn Mughirah was well known for his hostility and enmity towards the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and the cause of Islam. We have very little information about Khalid Ibn Walid from the early days of Islam. 4
After the Prophet's emigration to Madina from Makkah, many battles ensued between the Muslims and the Quraysh; the most notable ones being the Battles of Badr, Uhud, Khandaq, amongst others. Khalid Ibn Walid was not in Madina at the time of the Battle of Badr, which was the first battle fought between the Quraysh and the Muslims. But his brother Walid Ibn Walid participated and was caught by the Muslims and made a prisoner. Khalid and his older brother Hasham went to Madina to ransom Walid. On the way back to Makkah, Walid escaped and went back to Madina to convert to Islam. Khalid was one of the greatest military commanders of his time. He was trained in all of the military aspects; he had great horsemanship, brilliant skills of combat, knew the uses of various weapons of war- the spear, the lance, the bow and arrow, and the sword. He was instrumental in turning the tables at the Battle of Uhud, a battle that the Muslims were initially winning. Khalid Ibn Walid is the only one in the history of the entire Ummah, who had inflicted harm and damage and loss upon the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and his companions. Nobody else had caused as much destruction as he had. Yet the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) was hopeful with regard to Khalid. He would often ask Khalid’s brother Walid about him. It has been recorded that the Prophet sallallahu alaihi wasallam) had told Khalid's brother, Walid bin Walid, that: "A man like Khalid, can't keep himself away
from Islam for long". The Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) would also say that if Khalid were to put his energy and bravery towards working with the Muslims, it would be better for him. Walid would write to his brother conveying this and would try to persuade him to convert to Islam. It has been reported that after the battles with the Muslims, Khalid Ibn Walid would feel a sense of uneasiness and discomfort. Khalid (RA) had said: I have participated in all of these battles against Muhammad, and in every situation I attend, I leave with this feeling in my heart that I am putting my effort in something that is wasted and that in the end Muhammad will prevail.” Khalid (RA) converted to Islam after the Treaty of Hudaibiyah, a peace agreement of ten years that had been established between the Muslims and Quraysh in 628CE. It is said that he had a dream where he saw himself in a narrow and constricted place, and he was walking out of it into a vast beautiful area. When he asked about the interpretation of this dream, Abu Bakr(RA) told him that it was him leaving shirk and accepting Islam. When he decided to become Muslim, he spoke to Safwan Ibn Umayyah and Ikrimah Ibn Jahl. He didn’t get any positive response from either of them. He then spoke to Uthman ibn Talha about becoming Muslim and he was very positive about it; so they both decided to go to Madinah to meet the Prophet and to announce their acceptance of Islam. When they reached the outskirts of Madinah; Khalid and Uthman stopped to change their clothes and to put on their best clothes in prepara5
wasallam) said “Ya Allah forgive Khalid for whatever he has done and allow him to be a front, a warrior to fight for the cause of Islam and not for the cause of evil.” And thus the Great Warrior came to Islam which brought about a new era to the history of Islam. Khalid ibn Walid, The Drawn Sword of Allah will always be remembered as one of the greatest military commanders of all times. He is noted for his military tactics and prowess, who was in charge of the armies of the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) and those of his immediate successors to the Caliphate - Abu Bakr and Umar (Radiallahu anhum). It was under his military leadership that Arabia, for the first time in history, was united under a single political entity, the Caliphate. He is one of three military generals in history to remain undefeated in battle. To be continued... tion to meet the Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam). After they gave their pledge, Khalid felt distressed at what he had done in the past. He told Prophet (sallallahu alaihi wasallam) , “I have come to you with many sins, I fought against Allah ( )سبحانه وتعالى, I have fought against the Messenger of Allah. I have fought against the believers, I caused death, I caused destructions, I caused defeat, Ya Rasoolullah, Pray to Allah that He may forgive me.” The Prophet(sallallahu alaihi wasallam) told him,”Ya Khalid, when a man enters Islam, all his past sins are forgiven”. But Khalid (RA) was not satisfied with this until he made the Prophet(sallallahu alaihi wasallam) himself ask Allah to forgive him. He (sallallahu alaihi
Marriage Narrated Abdullah RA: We were with the Prophet (peace be upon him) while we were young and had no wealth whatever. So Allah's Messenger (peace be upon him) said, "O young people! Whoever among you can marry, should marry, because it helps him lower his gaze and guard his modesty (i.e. his private parts from committing illegal sexual intercourse etc.), and whoever is not able to marry, should fast, as fasting diminishes his sexual power." (Bukhari - Vol. 7, Book 62, Hadith 4)

My journey into Surah Maryam, part 4 Part 4 of my learning from the tafsir of Surah Maryam delivered by a dear teacher during the last 10 days of Ramadan. We finished last week at ayah 48. This week, in shaa Allah we will cover up till ayah 58. As done before, my aim in writing the notes has been to capture the key learnings rather than sharing with you the tafseer of each ayah. Sometimes, I do have to refer to particular ayat, but generically I would like to share with you the key concepts and messages. As we finished ayah 48, Ebrahim AS left his father in peace with hope that his invocation of forgiveness for his father would be accepted. He is khalilul Allah, he has the title of the Friend of Allah سبحانه و تعالى, and his heart is filled with the love of Allah سبحانه و تعالى. This reminds us of the words of Omar RA, who said that he is not worried about his duaa not being answered, his concern was to be able to make duaa. This leaves us with the message that let’s run to Allah and ask Him سبحانه و تعالىfor each and every need of ours. Answer will surely come but our test is of yaqueen, of certainty in our belief. In these ayat, where Allah سبحانه و تعالىmentions various prophets, peace and blessings of Allah سبحانه و تعالىbe with all of them, there is an emphasis by Allah سبحانه و تعالىon the importance of truthfulness. Let’s not forget the rank of truthful ones is straight after the Prophets AS and before the Shuadaa (martyrs) and the Sualeheen (righteous). May Allah Azzawajal make us of the truthful ones. The trick is to keep speaking the truth all the time, to have both our inner and outer synchronised up till the moment we are conferred the title of being truthful. We will only know our titles once we cross the ocean of life into the realm of the hereafter but now is the time to work for this title.
7
It is interesting how Allah سبحانه و تعالىassociates the provision of His gifts with invocation, with sabr. When Ebrahim AS left his people disappointed but with hope in Allah سبحانه و تعالى, Allah سبحانه و تعالىdid not leave him. Allah سبحانه و تعالىgave him the gifts of two children Ismail AS and Isaac AS who were also granted prophethood. This also shows us that deeds of the parents can be a means to bring goodness in the life of children. Allah سبحانه و تعالىcontinues to mention and praise His prophets AS. Allah praises Musa AS, he was sincere in his worship of Allah سبحانه و تعالى, and Allah سبحانه و تعالىgave him the gift of the support of his brother in his dawah work. Musa AS was known to have a temper but his hot temperament was for the sake of Allah سبحانه و تعالى. Hence we have to learn to balance our desires and to make these subservient to the shariah. Ikhlaas requires a very strong connection with your Creator سبحانه و تعالى. When you are praying, you are talking to Allah سبحانه و تعالى. Even when Musa AS asked Allah سبحانه و تعالىfor support of Aaron AS (Surat Taha), he said that he wanted the support so that together they could remember Allah سبحانه و تعالىmore. Good companionship strengthens your relationship with Allah سبحانه و تعالى. The more yaqeen you will have, the more taqwa you will attain, your life will be in obedience of Allah سبحانه و تعالى. For the ones who have taqwa, Allah سبحانه و تعالىwill open a way out of every problem. So why worry? If you have any concern or worry, just make tauba, return to Allah سبحانه و تعالى, seek His forgiveness and focus on your taqwa. Allah Al Mustaan will be enough for you if you are truthful in your journey to taqwa. Allah سبحانه و تعالىcontinues with the praise of His prophets: after Musa AS, Allah سبحانه و تعالىmentions Ismail AS, Idris AS. Once again Allah سبحانه و تعالىpraises Esmail AS for being truthful to his promise and he used to do dawah enjoining prayer and zakah on people. However, the key is that he was pleasing to Allah سبحانه و تعالىas he was himself doing those good deeds, his dawah carried weight, masha Allah. Allah mentions Idris AS and he is again mentioned as truthful. Allah mentions that He raised him to a high station. Subhanal Allah. The Prophets and Messengers and all those whom Allah guided and chose, they fell into prostration when the verses of Allah Ar Rahman would be recited to them. May Allah سبحانه و تعالى join us with this group and make us of the truthful ones .Ameen ya Rabb al alameen .to be continued إن شاء اهلل تعالى الحمدهلل رب العاملني والصالة والسالم على رسول اهلل

love. Indeed, we see her [to be] in clear error.” 12:30 The Aziz tried to keep the incident a secret, but there are no secrets in palaces; the servants grapevine is very efficient. The news spread rapidly, reaching the ears of the high society women who were in compe@@on with the wife of the Aziz. She had beauty, money, a high status, her husband was a minister in Egypt. This shameful incident was the last thing she wanted her compe@tors to know about. The story now opens on another scene. The wife of the Aziz was the laughing stock of the city; the high society modern women were gossiping about her.
The heart is the place of love for Allah, and of magnify ing Him The heart must belong only to Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى. We are in this life to be slaves of Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى, and we must direct all our love to Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى, loving for Him ()سبحانه وتعالى, and loving what pleases Him ( سبحانه

They called the wife of the Aziz إمرءة, because the society believed she could not bear children; no one knew the shortcoming of the Aziz. The words used by these high class women were chosen to add spice to the story, making it even more scandalous.
Abu Dharr رضي اهلل عنهsaid: Oh Messenger of Allah
ش َغفَهَا حُ بًّا َ َق ْد he has impassioned her with love They now give her excuses for her behavior, being diploma@c. This is worldly love, which makes people act in strange ways, making them humiliate themselves. To love people for Allah, is completely different.

The Messenger of Allah صلى اهلل عليه و سلمalso repeated it. 9

All their gossip was true, but their mo@ve was not good, they were jealous. They used the words of truth for their own benefit. This was part of their plot. They also wanted to see Yusuf عليه السالمfor themselves, having heard of his beauty, and curious to see for themselves. So when she heard of their scheming, she sent for them and prepared for them a banquet and gave each one of them a knife and said [to Yusuf], “Come out before them.” And when they saw him, they greatly admired him and cut their hands and said, “Perfect is Allah ! The guests arrived, dressed elaborately, bejeweled, with their hair coiffed, their faces made up, as we see in the pictures of ancient Egyp@an women. They were guided to these plush arrangements, were served canapés, which included fruit. The fruit was not peeled and chopped, but was served whole, and required cut@ng. This was the pivotal part of the elaborate plot the wife of the Aziz had planned. وَآتَتْ كُلَّ وَاحِ َد ٍة ِّمن ْ ُه َّن سِ كِّينًا and she gave each one of them a knife On the table before the guests were laid all the utensils they would need. This was Egypt, the place with one of the most advanced civiliza@ons of the ancient world. Imagine the utensils at their disposal, made of precious metals, embedded with precious stones. The wife of the Aziz made sure all her special guests had a knife each. The guests were involved with chaLng and ea@ng, cuLng up the fruit of their choice, when....... خ ُر ْج َع َليْ ِه َّ ن ْ َوقَالَتِ ا

It seems Yusuf عليه السالمwas kept in a room somewhere around this banquet, and she went to him and ordered him to appear before these women. Yusuf عليه السالمwas bestowed by Allah with half the beauty of all the beau@ful people from mankind! He did not venture outside the place walls. He was reluctant to appear before these women, but he was commanded by the wife of his master to do so. She wanted to show the women that her behavior was jus@fied, because the beauty of Yusuf عليه السالمwas enough to tempt anyone, let alone someone who sees him every day, and lives in the same house as him. The ladies of the city had a picture in mind about Yusuf ;عليه السالمthe reality they were about to see was beyond their imagina@on. فَلَمَّ ا َرأَيْن َ ُه 10

and cut their hands The knives slipped, hacking into skin and flesh, but they could not feel the pain; their senses were numbed at his sight. Blood flowed freely. This was an intense reac@on. Desire is found in everyone's hearts, but it must be controlled. The legisla@ons in Islam direct the desire in the right direc@on. The believing men and women have been commanded to lower their gaze, not look at something haraam. Nowadays everything around is geared to highlight desires, be they movies, songs, even cartoons! Bad companions also have an influence on behavior.

In their minds, such beauty could not exist in a human being. This was the beauty of a crea@on; imagine how beau@ful must our Creator ( )سبحانه وتعالىbe! Imagine your reac@on when you will see Him ( سبحانه )وتعالىin Paradise; this is the greatest delight, more precious than Paradise.

Sayed al Khateer - Ibn Al Jawzi Thought ()الخاطرة: Reasons for some dua’as not being answered ()أسباب تخلف اجابة الدعاء ▪
( )رأيت من البالء أن املؤمن يدعو فال يجاب ▪ à I found one of the trials of a believer is that he makes dua’a and it is not answered. Keep in mind we are talking about a believer – not a disbeliever or someone doing haram.
▪
( )و يدعو و تطول املدة و ال يرى اثرا لإلجابة ▪ à He con@nues to make dua’a and @me passes, yet there are no traces of an answer, subhan Allah. o No maber how much belief we have, we are s@ll humans and we can be weak. And ibn Jawzi found this to be a test.
▪
( )فينبغي أن يعلم أن هذا من البالء الذي يحتاج الى صبر ▪ à The person should know that it’s a trial and it needs pa@ence. But why is it a test? Not because the response is being delayed, but..
▪
( )و ما يعرض للنفس من الوساوس في تأخير الجواب ▪ à Because the self is listening to the whispers of the shaitan of ‘why is it being delayed, why is it not being answered?’
▪
( )مرض يحتاج الى طب ▪ à And listening to the whispers of the shaitan is a sickness that needs to be remedied.
▪
( )و لقد عرض لي شيء فدعوت و بالغت و لم أرى االجابة ▪ à I was in a situa@on and I made a desperate dua’a but there was no answer.
▪
( )فأخذ إبليس في حلبات كيده ▪ à So Iblees tried to plot and put me in his trap.
▪
( )فقال لي الكرم واسع والبخل معدوم فما فائدة تأخير الجواب ▪ à Iblees (the shaitan) was saying to me: You know that Allah ( )س¡ ¡ ¡ ¡¡بحان¡ ¡ ¡ ¡¡ه وت¡ ¡ ¡ ¡¡عال¡ ¡ ¡ ¡¡ىis vastly generous and He is never miserly, so what is the reason for the response being delayed? No@ce how the shaitan enters through the doors of weakness, and because Ibn Jawzi is very knowledgeable about Allah ()س¡ ¡ ¡¡بحان¡ ¡ ¡¡ه وت¡ ¡ ¡¡عال¡ ¡ ¡¡ى, the whispers of the shaitan are different accordingly, subhan Allah.
13
▪
( )فقلت اخسأ فما أحتاج الى تقاض و ال أرضاك وكيال ▪ à So I said: Go away, I don’t need you to be my judge and I don’t accept you to be my trustee/advisor. No@ce how ibn Jawzi can immediately detect it was from the whispers of the shaitan and not from the self/ nafs, subhan Allah.
▪
( )إياك و مساكنة وسوسته ▪ à He was saying to himself: Be careful and don’t listen to his whispers.
▪
( فإن لم يكن في تأخير االجابة اال أن يبلوك املقدر في محاربة العدو لكفى في الحكمة ▪ à Even if you cannot find a reason for the delay in response except that Allah ( )س ¡¡بحان ¡¡ه وت ¡¡عال ¡¡ىhas decreed it to be delayed in order to test you, so that you may defeat the whispers of the shaitan, then this is sufficient as wisdom, subhan Allah. o We always want answers, and the shaitan is trying to make everything make sense to us in the beginning, subhan Allah. So when you stop him, then that is sufficient in wisdom for the response to be delayed in order to fight off the whispers of the shaitan.
▪
( )فسألني في تأخير االجابة ▪ à Then the shaitan asked me, ‘then why is it being delayed?’, subhan Allah. Then I gave him so many answers so that he does not put doubts in me. The shaitan wants us to disbelieve in Allah ( )س ¡¡بحان ¡¡ه وت ¡¡عال ¡¡ىor to commit a sin or to decrease in faith. May Allah ( )س ¡ ¡ ¡¡بحان ¡ ¡ ¡¡ه وت ¡ ¡ ¡¡عال ¡ ¡ ¡¡ىprotect us from the shaitan and give us the strength to deal with the shaitan. Ameen. Don’t make a peace treaty with the shaitan, you need to give answers to defeat him, and the answers should always be about Allah ()س ¡ ¡ ¡¡بحان ¡ ¡ ¡¡ه وت ¡ ¡ ¡¡عال ¡ ¡ ¡¡ى. Because when you remember Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى, then this makes the shaitan smaller and smaller.

First Answer:
( فقلت قد ثبت بالبرهان ان اهلل عز و جل مالك و للمالك التصرف باملنع و العطاء فال اعتراض ▪ à I said: I know and you know that Allah ( )س ¡¡بحان ¡¡ه وت ¡¡عال ¡¡ىis The Owner of Everything and He is The King, and The Owner can do whatever He wants in His dominion, He can give and withhold whatever and whenever He wants. So the shaitan did not object.
Second Answer:
( )أنه قد ثبتت حكمته باإلدلة القاطعة ▪ à It is confirmed that Allah’s is affirming His wisdom. o There is sharp evidence in the Quran about the wisdom of Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى. o ()فلربما رأيت الشيء مصلحة و الحكمة ال تقتضيه o à Maybe you see something as being beneficial for you, but it is not wise for you to have it. When Iblees did not prostrate to Adam (as), he did not see the wisdom behind it, rather he said, ‘why should I prostrate, I am beber than him?’. Iblees disbelieved because he denied the wisdom of Allah ()س ¡¡بحان ¡¡ه وت ¡¡عال ¡¡ى, subhan Allah. The en@re universe is based on wisdom – when one leaf falls, there is wisdom behind – when one leaf doesn’t fall, there is wisdom behind it – when the eyes blink, there is wisdom behind – when they don’t blink, there is wisdom behind it, subhan Allah. ▪ We look at things, thinking only about its benefit for us. Some@mes we think that our child should be guided, this is for our benefit, so we make dua’a and the shaitan says you’re making a good dua’a, but why is it not being answered? You need to know there is wisdom behind everything, maybe it would be not wise if he is guided now, maybe it is beber if he is guided aNer some @me, aNer going through some nurturing, etc.

This whole life is like pieces of a puzzle – you cannot remove a piece and replace it with another, subhan Allah. Wisdom means everything is perfect and in its place. ▪ Don’t think that I am asking for something good, but Allah ( )سبحانه وتعالىis not answering, istaghfar Allah. ▪ For example, the story of Al Khidr in Surah Al Kahf – why did he make a hole, why did he kill the child, why did he fix the wall? – It looks like there is no benefit to it, but there is wisdom and you need to believe in the wisdom of Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى. ▪ ▪

Third Answer:
( )أنه قد يكون التأخير مصلحة و االستعجال مضرة ▪ à When something is being delayed, then that is a benefit for me because had it been hastened, then it would have been bad. o For example, it would be bad for me if I got the money now, or have the child, or the property, etc. o Hadith: ( ق¡¡د دع¡¡وت رب¡¡ي ف¡¡لم يس¡¡تجب: ي¡¡قول: ي¡¡ا ن¡¡بي اهلل ! The slave will be in good as long as he does not hasten. Look at the opposite – it will be evil if you are hasty, subhan Allah. Anything you are restless and desperate about, you will get it, but you will be tested with it. o There was someone who always made dua’a to be a millionaire, and always saying when, when, when? – he got it, and then he got sick and spent all his money for treatment un@l he died, subhan Allah. o Take this as a rule of thumb, when you are hasty about something, you will get it and be tested with it. People say, when will I get the child, and they get it and they will be tested with it, or marriage, job, etc. And the problem is that when we are tested, it will affect the faith. So enjoy the moments when you are making dua’a to Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى.
Fourth Answer:
( )قد يكون سبب امتناع اإلجابة آلفة فيك ▪ à Maybe the reason the dua’a is not being answered is because of a problem in me. o ()قد يكون مأكلك فيه شبهة o à Maybe there is something doubpul in your food. No@ce he did not say haram, but doubpul, because he is referring to the believer. o ()او قلبك وقت الدعاء في غفلة o à Maybe your heart is heedless while you’re making the dua’a to Allah ()س ¡¡بحان ¡¡ه وت ¡¡عال ¡¡ى, subhan Allah. o ()او لذنب ما صدقت في التوبة منه o à Or there is a sin that you have repented from, but you are not truthful in your repentance, subhan Allah. o The shaitan wants you to think bad about Allah ( )س ¡ ¡¡بحان ¡ ¡¡ه وت ¡ ¡¡عال ¡ ¡¡ىand to think good about yourself. He wants you to associate with Allah ()س¡¡بحان¡¡ه وت¡¡عال¡¡ى, to abach to others besides Allah ()س¡¡بحان¡¡ه وت¡¡عال¡¡ى.We need to think good about Allah ( )سبحانه وتعالىand bad about ourselves.
FiNh Answer:

▪ à Maybe whatever I want will increase me in sins or if I get what I want, then it will delay me on my way to paradise, subhan Allah. o Allah ( )سبحانه وتعالىwants the best for us, He wants us to move forward, not backward. o Allah ( )س ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡¡بحان ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡¡ه وت ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡¡عال ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡ ¡¡ىdidn’t give you the money because He knows you will commit sin with that money, or if you get the posi@on, it will make you arrogant. Or if you get it, then it will delay you on your way to Allah ()س ¡¡بحان ¡¡ه وت ¡¡عال ¡¡ى. We never want our duniya to occupy us from the akhira. And it is a mercy from Allah ( )سبحانه وتعالىif He doesn’t give us. ▪
Sixth Answer:

Allah ( )س ¡¡بحان ¡¡ه وت ¡¡عال ¡¡ىgives us blessings so that we can be closer to Him and appreciate Him more, not to appreciate the blessing and forget about Him, istaghfar Allah. ()فالحق عز و جل علم من الخلق اشتغالهم بالبر عنه ▪ ▪ à Allah ( )س ¡ ¡¡بحان ¡ ¡¡ه وت ¡ ¡¡عال ¡ ¡¡ىknows that the crea@on will be busy from Him if they get it. For example, He knows a person will be busy from Him if he gets the job, child, marriage, etc. ( )فلدغهم في خالل النعم بعوارض تدفعهم الى بابه ▪ ▪ à That’s why throughout the blessing there is some pain so that you can be pushed to the door of Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى, subhan Allah. o Allah ( )س¡بحان¡ه وت¡عال¡ىknows if you have the perfect house, perfect husband, perfect children, perfect maid, etc – then you will not come to Him. That’s why you will find a child is a blessing, but he might fall sick, not listen, etc –so that you can go to Allah ()س¡ ¡ ¡¡بحان¡ ¡ ¡¡ه وت¡ ¡ ¡¡عال¡ ¡ ¡¡ى, not to someone else. Allah ( )س¡ ¡ ¡¡بحان¡ ¡ ¡¡ه وت¡ ¡ ¡¡عال¡ ¡ ¡¡ىwill solve your problems, He does not want you to go far away from Him. Allah ( )س¡بحان¡ه وت¡عال¡ىwants your heart – He wants you to have the perfect eternal life in the hereaNer. ()فهذا من النعم في طَي البالء ▪ ▪ à In general, any blessing you get it will not be perfect 100% - there are some things here and there that are not complete so that you are pushed to Allah ()سبحانه وتعالى. ()انما البالء االشتغال عن اهلل ▪ ▪ à But the real problem/afflic@on is when you are busy from Allah ()س ¡¡بحان ¡¡ه وت ¡¡عال ¡¡ى. In this passage, the surah speaks of some of Allah (’)سبحانه وتعالىs signs and how they reflect His (’)سبحانه وتعالىs Grace. Allah (’)سبحانه وتعالىs signs here include the winds as heralds bearing good news, sending messengers with clear signs, giving support to believers, sending rain to give life to dead land and bringing the dead back to life. This combination is very significant. All these are aspects of Allah (’)سبحانه وتعالىs mercy and grace, and they are all part of the laws Allah ( )سبحانه وتعالىhas set in operation. Indeed there

Similar to sending the winds bearing good news is the sending of messengers with veritable
tant to human life, and they are closely related to the universal system. “And among His signs is that He sends forth the winds bearing good news.” These winds herald rain. From experience, people know the winds that bring rains, which raise their hopes. “So that He might give you a taste of His grace,” with this prospect of rain, fertility and growth. “And that ships might sail at His bidding,” either with the help of rain or by causing rivers to flow and allowing ships to sail on them. Yet the ships are actually run by Allah (')سبحانه وتعالىs bidding, according to the laws He ( )سبحانه وتعالىoperates in the universe, giving everything its qualities and functions. An aspect of this is that ships are easily carried by water and they float and move, pushed by the wind, either with or against the
signs of the truth: “We have certainly sent before you messengers to their own peoples, and they brought them clear evidence of the truth.” Yet people did not receive this aspect of Allah (سبحانه ')وتعالىs grace, which is much greater than the wind that brings the prospect of rain. Nor did they benefit by them as they did by rain, even though their messages were far more beneficial and longer lasting. Essentially, they took two different attitudes toward Allah (')سبحانه وتعالىs messengers. Some of them refused to believe or reflect on Allah (')سبحانه وتعالىs messages and continued to inflict harm on the messengers and to turn people away from Allah (')سبحانه وتعالىs path. Others, who believed, recognized Allah (سبحانه ')وتعالىs signs, offered thanks for His (سبحانه )وتعالىgrace, and bore with patience the harm inflicted on them by the other group. Furthermore, 18

He ( )سبحانه وتعالىhas emphatically confirmed it in clear, unambiguous terms. How could there be any ambiguity when the One making the commitment is God Almighty who has sway over all His creatures? He ( )سبحانه وتعالىmakes this statement expressing His ( )سبحانه وتعالىwill that will always be done, and pointing to the working of His ( )سبحانه وتعالىlaw which never fails. SOORAH AL TAARIQ - 86 ِ ن ٱلرَّحِ يم ِ ِٰسم ِ ٱهللِ ٱلرَّحۡ مَ ـ ۡ ب This surah has taken its name from the word attariq in first sentence. This surah was revealed in Makkah, when the disbelievers of Makkah were employing all sorts of devices and plans to defeat and frustrate the message of the Quran and Muhammed (SAW). It discusses two main themes. First that man has to appear before Allah subahanahu wa taala after death; secondly the Quran is a decisive word which no plan or device of the disbelievers can defeat. Ayat 1- 17:
turn man to life again. It is the day where all hidden things shall be made to manifest. He will not have either strength or any helper. Now Allah subahanahu wa taala swears by the sky giving rains and the earth that splits with plants. The return of man`s life is surely a decisive word and not a joke. The disbelievers make a plan against the believers and Allah (Subahanahu wa taala) will also make a plot. But it is only for that the disbelievers are given respite for a while. Good Manners Narrated Abu Hurayrah: The Prophet (peace be

When a person is mubarak, his life is also mubarak. Ibraheem عليه السالمwas the إمام املؤحدين, the leader of all those who have tawheed. He was surrounded with mushrikeen, the only believer in a land of disbelievers. He was chosen by Allah سبحانه و تعالىto be

hear others talking negatively, they don't go along with it; rather, they give a positive response, making them see the good in everything. One reason for negativity is that people look at the means, for instance, the hot weather is blamed on the sun, instead of accepting it as a decree of Allah سبحانه و تعالى. If you have had a bad experience with something, don't tell others about it, because they might get influenced by it. The مباركنيwill never spoil someone's reputation. The مباركنيdo not try to attract people to themselves. They try to connect people to Allah سبحانه و تعالى, to be pleased with Him, to be attached to Him, to be pleased with the decree of Allah سبحانه و تعالى. This test comes often in the field of study and preaching. Numbers gain importance, and sincerity becomes a challenge. People start counting the numbers of 'followers', tweets, 'likes' on Facebook, how many people viewed a clip, instead of working for Allah سبحانه وتعالى.

WHAT IS NOT TAUGHT IN SCHOOLS What is Taught: The first mention of man in flight was by Roger Bacon, who drew a flying apparatus. Leonardo da Vinci also conceived of airborne transport and drew several prototypes. What Should be Taught: Ibn Firnas of Islamic Spain invented, constructed and tested a flying machine in the 800's A.D. Roger Bacon learned of flying machines from Arabic references to Ibn Firnas' machine. The latter's invention antedates Bacon by 500 years and Da Vinci by some 700 years.
What is Taught: Glass mirrors were first produced in 1291 in Venice. What Should be Taught: Glass mirrors were in use in Islamic Spain as early as the 11th century. The Venetians learned of the art of fine glass production from Syrian artisans during the 9th and 10th centuries.
What is Taught: Until the 14th century, the only type of clock available was the water clock. In 1335, a large mechanical clock was erected in Milan, Italy. This was possibly the first weight-driven clock. Â What Should be Taught: A variety of mechanical clocks were produced by Spanish Muslim engineers, both large and small, and this knowledge was transmitted to Europe through Latin translations of Islamic books on mechanics. These clocks were weight-driven. Designs and illustrations of epi-cyclic and segmental gears were provided. One such clock included a mercury escapement. The latter type was directly copied by Europeans during the 15th century. In addition, during the 9th century, Ibn Firnas of Islamic Spain, according to Will Durant, invented a watch-like device which kept accurate time. The Muslims also constructed a variety of highly accurate astronomical clocks for use in their observatories.

What is Taught: In the 17th century, the pendulum was developed by Galileo during his teenage years. He noticed a chandelier swaying as it was being blown by the wind. As a result, he went home and invented the pendulum. What Should be Taught: The pendulum was discovered by Ibn Yunus al-Masri during the 10th century, who was the first to study and document its oscillatory motion. Its value for use in clocks was introduced by Muslim physicists during the 15th century. What is Taught: Movable type and the printing press was invented in the West by Johannes Gutenberg of Germany during the 15th century. What Should be Taught: In 1454, Gutenberg developed the most sophisticated printing press of the Middle Ages. However, movable brass type was in use in Islamic Spain 100 years prior, and that is where the West's first printing devices were made. What is Taught: Isaac Newton's 17th century study of lenses, light and prisms forms the foundation of the modern science of optics . What Should be Taught: In the 11th century al-Haytham determined virtually everything that Newton advanced regarding optics centuries prior and is regarded by numerous authorities as the "founder of optics. " There is little doubt that Newton was influenced by him. Al-Haytham was the most quoted physicist of the Middle Ages. His works were utilized and quoted by a greater number of European scholars during the 16th and 17th centuries than those of Newton and Galileo combined. What is Taught: Isaac Newton, during the 17th century, discovered that white light consists of various rays of colored light. What Should be Taught: This discovery was made in its entirety by al-Haytham (11th century) and Kamal ad-Din (14th century). Newton did make original discoveries, but this was not one of them.

All the praises are for You; You have the possession of the Heavens and the Earth And whatever is in them. All the praises are for You; You are the Light of the Heavens and the Earth And all the praises are for You; You are the King of the Heavens and the Earth; And all the praises are for You; You are the Truth and Your Promise is the truth, And to meet You is true, Your Word is the truth And Paradise is true And Hell is true And all the Prophets (Peace be upon them) are true; And Muhammad is true, And the Day of Resurrection is true. Sufyan said that `Abdul Karim Abu Umaiya added to the above, 'Wala haula Wala quwata illa billah' (There is neither might nor power except with Allah). (Bukhari - Vol. 2, Book 21, Hadith 221)
