Open House - 2007
April 14, 2007 • 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM Welcome Open House visitors and congratulations on being accepted to the Vanderbilt University School of Engineering!
We hope that your visit this weekend will be fun and informative. The schedule is filled with presentations, tours and opportunities for you to ask important questions to help you make this important decision. You will have an opportunity to visit laboratories, dormitory rooms, and our engineering facilities. In addition, you will have an opportunity to meet with several faculty members and current students.
What you won't see during Open House is the School of Engineering community in action during the week when we hold classes, conduct research, and interact with the larger Vanderbilt community. So it may be hard to get a true sense of the energy, focus, and collegiality of this unique school. However, you should know that the Vanderbilt School of Engineering offers a broad engineering education that includes a low student-faculty ratio, outstanding faculty, hands-on research experiences, summer internship opportunities, participation in engineering student organizations and the privilege of being part of an outstanding major research university that specializes in cross-disciplinary research. Please note that we will be hosting a summer orientation program on June 15-16 and June 19-20. We hope to see you again then. Sincerely,
Burgess Mitchell Assistant Dean
