CHANGING IN A

CHANGING WORLD

HEALTH AND SAFETY FIRST At The Masters School, we have implemented rigorous protocols for the health, safety and well-being of our school community, adhering to specific guidance from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the Westchester County Department of Health, and our own Health Advisory Team. Mask wearing, handwashing, symptom tracking, physical distancing, facility maintenance, ongoing testing, and adherence to our Community Agreement are instrumental to our success. “We appreciate how carefully the teachers have worked to make sure their students are getting the best academic experience possible while also paying such close attention to how they are doing emotionally during this challenging time.” —MARIE FABIAN P’22, ’26

At Masters, no matter where or how we gather, we are determined to advance our learning, create a unified, inclusive community, and take on challenges with resiliency and adaptability.

AS ALWAYS, WE COME TOGETHER TO LEARN,TO STRIVE, TO DARE, TO DO—TO BE A POWER FOR GOOD IN THE WORLD.

IN-PERSON LEARNING

LEARNING WITH MIGHT We are Masters strong, and we are committed to delivering an academic program that leads to deep, transformational and joyful learning— whether in person or remotely.

This year, Masters middle school students are taking their first class in a new innovation and entrepreneurship curriculum. Learn more about the program here.

In-person instruction is our preferred method of education. We will operate under that model if circumstances allow, while following strict safety protocols.

REMOTE LEARNING Last year, 97% of the students in Masters’ engineering courses scored high enough to earn college credits through the Rochester Institute of Technology. Learn more here.

Our faculty members have spent significant time honing their remote teaching skills and can seamlessly transition into fully remote instruction if required. Explore Our Middle School Remote Learning Program

OPTIONAL REMOTE INSTRUCTION Even when campus is open, students have the option to participate in remote instruction for any length of time. Middle and upper school students can join on-campus classes via a remote connection in the classroom and keep their regular schedule. Upper school students also have the option to participate in Masters Remote Academy, a program with fully remote sections tailored to the needs of longtime online learners, who may be located in different time zones.

ATHLETICS, ARTS AND COCURRICULARS “I want to make sure that all students, both American and international, can feel connected to our community so that we don’t lose the warm and united spirit Masters always has been known for.”

Upper school theater students came together to safely and creatively put on a virtual fall play this year. Find out more about the show here.

This fall, Masters’ fields and courts came alive as members of the soccer, tennis, volleyball, field hockey and cross-country teams made their muchawaited return to action. Learn more.

COCURRICULAR ACTIVITIES

With strict protocols in place, our athletic teams are continuing their tactical, technical skill, and fitness-based training this year while building toward intrasquad competitions. High fives may be discouraged, but connecting as teammates and exercising Panther pride are still a go. Our student-athletes build confidence and collaborative skills, no matter the sport or situation.

Our theater, music and dance students have learned how to creatively engage and perform in either a physically distanced space or remote setup. Individual artistry endures at Masters through innovative exploration, participation and discovery. Remote private music lessons and virtual ensembles allow students to maintain consistent instrumental and vocal study while making beautiful music together.

The processes of creative expression, collaboration and observation transcend the physical space at Masters. In design, photography, and digital and traditional media, visual arts students are continuing their work, whether in person or remotely. Our art studio has been reconfigured to comply with safety protocols, and we have ensured our students have access to materials whether they are on campus or at home.

From student leadership to special interest groups, cocurriculars and after-school activities have always been integral parts of campus life at Masters. Whether in a virtual club fair, a student-produced news broadcast, or a physically distanced student-led climate policy debate, students and faculty have been resourceful in finding ways to safely engage with one another and advance their passions.

DO IT WITH THY MIGHT At Masters, we teach students to learn from every triumph and every challenge—to realize their strength, their power, their might. No matter how the world may change.
