3 Reasons To Sell Your Own Custom Gear

A school needs to stand out from the competition to survive. Selling your own branded equipment and accessories is a powerful way to build brand equity and leverage your logo for maximum exposure. Here are three reasons why selling custom products is a must:

Your school is unique, and it’s easy to represent anywhere with customized apparel and gear. Your logo on items from T-shirts to bags will be proudly worn and carried by your students and instructors everywhere they go. The industry is thriving as staying active has never been more important. Millions of people belong to martial arts programs and many more are looking for new classes and schools. Make sure their eyes fall on your logo! On your brand ! Use your logo (or co-brand it) with your programs on t-shirts, stickers, mugs, towels and water bottles—anything that can have your school enter the public eye.

2. CONVENIENCE AND TRUST

Some members new to martial arts classes might have never worn proper equipment and can be intimidated by the selection. And it can be so easy to do it wrong! Think about when you were brand new and something as simple as gloves were a mystery. A student is likely to go to the nearest big box store and buy cheap or poorly fitted gloves, then have a bad experience in your class as a result. If you offer your own quality equipment (sealed with the approval of your logo!) and your instructors use it, your students will see and want the same. It’s important to help members find the right equipment to ensure they have the best class experience.

3. BRAND CREDIBILITY

You’ve seen the type: the perfect coordination of matched equipment and uniforms conveys a sense of passion, the organization of everything in the school, and... how clean it is! No student wouldn’t take that school seriously. And who would blame them? It’s just so...professional!

The first step to being a good program is the know-how and the passion. You’ve got that.

But, this is more than just a hobby. It’s a school . And the first step to being a good school is being a professional school. The first step to “professional’’ is a clean school; a coordinated school, complete with matching equipment that looks like the school is as invested in martial arts as they expect their students to be.
