DETACHED HOUSE RECONSTRUCTION The concept of creating a new building volume has risen from the traditional village architecture where the new needs of the family have been applied while some obsolete elements have been removed. The house is composed from three volumes. The main one reaching the street is the original building the roof hewed up to create the space for the bedrooms under the roof. The space in the ground floor have been join together to make an interior relation to the outer volume. The second volume is the is the repetition of the first one shifted to the left which includes the entrance and the common area for the children. The third volume is a new construction in the perpendicular direction including the living room linked to the kitchen in the old wing. Project prepared for the construction which has been cancelled

The proposal from urban point of view is keeping the height of the neighboring building and supplies to the waterfront the solid corner townhouse. The edge of the corner shifts to the inside of the plot to allow the pavement expansion what would create an outside terrace for the café to be used during nice weather. The building is a barrier between the outer public space and the inner semi-public which is risen one floor against the street level.

SITUÁCIA

SITUÁCIA

The architectural proposal is based on a principle of a magnificent view from the plot the riverbed with the panorama of the city centre of Prerov. This topic has become the main tool for the plan organizing. Secondly, the large loggias oriented to the city are switching in different floors what makes the interlacing on the facade. The spaces are separated into three function. The parking beneath the ground, the civic equipment (shops, pub, café, stores) in the ground floor and the flats set above the shops. The flats are accessible from common inner yard in 2nd floor via the porches.

INTERIOR OF A SINGLE HOUSE The designed interior of the kitchen, dining room and living room accommodated in one space located in the single bungalow. Proposal includes the design of kitchen table, shelves, cupboards and small pieces of the furniture like the adjustable tables in the living room. The pipes work like the statical elements for supporting, handles for opening the cupboards, drawers. They function as the cornices to hang the curtains, or just to make a distance from warm chimney or to dry the towels.

INTERIOR OF A SINGLE HOUSE The width of the table in the living room is adjustable. The table is built up from eight equal pieces - four and four of different color while all these pieces can be removed from the set-up and another table can be made. The pieces are usable separately as a small tables. The shelve is suggested to serve as a small media-library. The books, CD’s and DVD’s have the place on it.

HOUSE IN A BLANK SPACE The plot is to be found close to the city center of Brno. It is situated where the fortification wall had been built and then demolished by Napoleon’s army. The street Novobranskå (New-gate street) had been the route along the fortress and it remains still today. The consequence of the history are the narrow streets and the shallow interiors of the houses . The house I developed is wide - with the length of 41 meters with the shallow typology to 9 meters.

The main idea of the house is to build an interconnected spatial scheme which would accommodate three different kinds of fine arts - drawing & painting, short movies, sculpture and yet find the space for the flats. The first floor enables the access to the building for inhabitants, public, artists, access to the garage, and the disposal of the garbage. In the first floor there is one studio for sculptors and another for amateur animators. The buggies and garbage treatment are placed there as well. The lift for the cars accesses the garages. The second floor includes the studio for drawing and painting and one outdoor studio which is designed for the presentation of work done in the building. The levels from third floor up are designed for dwelling. The units are studios or smaller flats for non permanent living.

HOUSE IN A BLANK SPACE Light shafts. We use them to lead the light into the flats in the building. Wide shafts are cutting the floors from the 3rd to the roof and the caps of the shafts are raise above the roof level to avoid the cover from snow. This system may not be sufficient for the lighting of the bedroom completely but it gives to the inhabitants an experience with the light and this way makes the room vivid, and saves the energy as well.

THE GATE The conceptual solution developed in 2007 had been put aside because of the inability of the crew to build it. It seemed silly to me so once when I had free time in 2009 I started to finish it myself. The welding was not smooth but nowadays the gate works. The shape applies some statical rules and it presents the conceptual side as well - the body of the eagle both with the body of the dove. Try to find them... BEGIJNHOF INCUBATOR The principle of incubator applied here is to accommodate people with common hobbies in a flexible floor plans. The way of getting into the topic was to remove all the construction excepting the load bearing ones. The circulation system you may see on a scheme has been investigated to merge the spaces in two separated houses. The spaces has been let available to be organized later according the program. The public spaces include the common equipment yet allow to the higher floors to be used as the flats.

CHAIR Designed piece of the furniture is an armchair built from three elements made from three kinds of material. The steel frame with galvanized surface supports the leather seat. The frame enables to bend what makes the act of sitting down soft and comfortable. The compressed wooden pile reinforces the chair and makes it stable. The seat is removable what simplifies the transport.

STUDENT’S ROOM The space of 17,5 m2 is designed for two students. The spatial relation starts from the window where are the worktables. One of them serves for work with PC and the other for the handwork requiring the daylight lighting. The following part designed for sleeping, small cooking and eating. The wall separating the aforementioned spaces is structure of shelves and little closets where the students’ stuff can be put aside. The last part includes the toilet with the wash basin and the shelve closet. This space can be hidden by moving the sliding door. The access to the unit is proposed via pivot door opening to the inside. The elm wood is infused with the natural color which is used for wooden child’s toys. The elements are defined by color and the wooden structure appears on the surface. Interior design matej ferenc portfolio

LOFTS The firm Krystof provides the cloth washing for almost the entire region. The laundries are nowadays a bit too inefficient because of old equipment. The firm wants to provide a residential part for the city. The urban structure uses the water stream, the paved area where the children can play and the covered playground in the inner block. The lowest floors are used for the civic equipment and the parking lot. Next levels are designed for the dwellings in the one-level or two level flats and studios. The design includes offices, grocery shop, audience for small events with a foyer. In the chimney is located the staircase.

KURIM TOWN FOR 10 000 INHABITANTS The location is a green field area linking to the city of Kurim. The task was to develop another urban structure which would accommodate 10 000 inhabitants. The design includes the public buildings around the square and two avenues, the blocks of flats, family houses and the lake linking the square. Avenues are only for pedestrians and cyclists while the perpendicular streets are for the traffic. The extension of the routes guides to old part of the city of Kurim.

SHELTER The structure completely made in steel is presented in several statical schemes. The elements (trusses) are the parts of an arc, consoles or columns. The main arch is created from two trusses in the structural scheme of triple elbow truss. The arc is placed on the tube profiles supporting the elements above lower stairs. CHURCH SHELTER The location of the shelter is in the land called Moravia. Land is rich in its culture not only for people, who dwell there but also for all the Slavic nations spread over the world, because the first Slavic type has been invented there. The shelter covers the remains of the church walls built at the times of the Great Moravia around 870.

CHURCH SHELTER The membrane of the shelter is suspensed and subtended by slim steel columns and cables. The architecture and the service of east Christians define three main spaces of the church. The division, still to be seen on the church remains, is expressed on the membrane shaping as well. The presbitary is the red closed part, main aisle is the white part with the rising tips on the sides allowing to hot air escape in the summer and the front shield inviting the visitors. The trusses are laid on the walls and are removable. Although the remains has not been added to The National heritage, proposal protects its magnitude.

The smaller object next to is proposed to put aside stuff. matej ferenc portfolio

STRUCTIVE MODEL The model presents a structural principle both with a volume organisation of the Alcoa building on One Maritime plaza in San Francisco, done by the office SOM in 1967. The model is made completely from paper and glue. The work has been exposed on the exhibition at school of architecture in Wroclaw and Ghent.
