ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION JOURNAL
MATEO RIBADENEIRA
Tuesday, April 16 (day 1): 6:20 a.m.: I woke up and I went to my window, then I opened my curtains and received light from the sun, which uses infrared rays. 7:10 a.m.: When I was in the bus I got my cellphone and used my GPS to see where I was, this uses GPS signals. 10:20 a.m.: I got out to recess and it was sunny so I was walking and received heat from the sun and I wasn't using sunblock so I received a Sunburn, the sun uses UV Rays 2:45 p.m.: After class I got my cellphone and called my mom to tell her I was going to go home for lunch 7:30 p.m.: After I finished my homework I turned on the TV and changed the channel with the remote control, the remote control uses infrared rays.

Wednesday, April 17 (day 2): 6:00 a.m.: I putted my Alarm Clock the day before to wake me with Radio; the radio uses Radio signals that are Radio waves. 6:30 a.m.: At breakfast I used the microwave oven to warm up my chocolate milk, the microwave oven uses microwave waves. 7:20 a.m.: When I was in the bus I saw through the window and a police officer was using a Radar to see the speed the cars were going in, the radar for measuring speed uses a radio wave. 4:30 p.m.: When I got home I started playing on my iPad. My iPad uses visible light because the pixels of my iPad make the colors and the light of the iPad. 7:00 p.m.: At night I went to the hospital because my brother needed and x-ray because it seemed that his arm had broke, the xray of the hospital uses x-ray.

Thursday, April 18 (day 3) 6:20 a.m.: When I went to the kitchen I putted two toasts in the toaster to eat in my breakfast. The Toaster uses infrared rays to heat up the toast and make it crunchy. 6:58 a.m.: When I got out to the bus I saw that it had rained some minutes before but at that time it was sunny this caused a rainbow to form. A rainbow is an example of visible light and is the unique part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we can see. 7:10 a.m.: At the bus I was bored, so I got my cellphone and started using Twitter and tweeted a thing. For my cellphone to have Internet to tweet a thing I need radio waves. 4:00 p.m.: When I got home I started to watch TV and saw a soccer match. The TV uses radio waves because it has an antenna that makes the TV have the channels. 8:00 p.m.: When I got back home from the supermarket all my house was dark so I turned the lights on the lights get on because of the light bulb. The light bulb uses visible light because we can see this light.

Friday, April 19 (Day 4): 7:10 a.m.: At this time I had golf tournament when I got to the club it was really sunny and I got exposed to the sun so UV rays came to me. 8:00 a.m.: When I was in my golf round I had to measure a distance so I got out my Bushnell measuring device to measure. This uses infrared light to measure the distance you need. 9:00 a.m.: When I looked down to the grass of the golf course I could see that it was an example of visible light because I saw that the grass was green. 5:47 p.m.: When we got home we had to open the garage for opening the garage my mom used a remote control that uses infrared rays. 8:30 p.m.: At night it was really cold so I warmed up some hot chocolate on the microwave oven, the microwave oven uses microwave rays to warm-up the hot chocolate.

Saturday, April 20 (day 5) 6:30 a.m.: At break fast I was going to eat a peanut butter and jelly toast so I putted some toasts on the toaster, the toaster uses infrared rays for cooking the toast. 7:45 a.m.: When I was going to Los Chillos in the car we passed through the Tele-Peaje the tag in our car uses infrared rays to connect with the tele-peaje. 8:00 a.m.: In the way my mom turned on the radio to hear some music, the radio uses radio waves to make us hear the music. 5:50 p.m.: When I got home I connected to my wireless router to enter Facebook on my iPad the wireless router uses radio waves for transmitting data. 8:20 p.m.: I turned on my computer to start doing my waves Journal, the computer because of its pixels uses visible light because we can see the colors and things on the computer.
