Class Policies
Please read and understand the following before registering for a class‌ 1.Class fees must be paid IN FULL at the time of registration. You can register in person, by mail, or by phone. 2. A refund of store credit is provided if you cancel 1 week prior to the start of class. If the cancellation is less than one week prior to class, no refunds will be given. 3. If Material Girls must cancel a class due to lack of participation (less than 3 students), the class fee may be transferred to another class or refunded. 4. Class minimum is 3 students and space is reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis. 5. Children or your guest cannot accompany you to class without paying the registration fee. 6. In order to keep class fees to a minimum, keep the lights on, and the roof over the store, we ask for your cooperation and offer a 10% discount to purchase your class supplies at Material Girls. 7. Supply lists are available for print on our website. They will be available online soon after the newsletter is published. Navigate to the calendar, select the class date, and then print the supply list. We ask that you come to class prepared with the required supplies. 8. Students are required to bring a sewing machine and basic sewing supplies to each class. Basic sewing supplies include: Scissors, thread, seam ripper, marking pencil, rotary cutter, ruler, etc. 9. If you miss a class, no make up classes will be scheduled. 10. Each student must have a LEGAL copy of the pattern or book. 11. Class will start on time, so please arrive at least 15 minutes early and be set up and ready to start.

Ruler of the Month Each month, we will feature a specialty ruler that maybe new to you or a ruler that you have already treasure but have forgotten how it is used. We will offer two options for you to have a hands on demonstration with the ruler in the Sew-ology Lounge. We will provide the sewing machine so you just have to grab your basic sewing kit and a few fat quarters from your stash. The rulers and a selection of patterns will be discounted at 15% off the entire month.

Terry Atkinson, pattern designer, has put together a fun and creative club that will expand your sewing skills without a huge time commitment…and just wait until you see the fun projects she’s designed exclusively for club members! We’ll laugh, learn and be inspired by creative ideas that go along with each month’s theme. And the best part is you don’t have to lug your sewing machine and all your stuff! We will demo a new technique each month and provide you with handouts for fun small projects that you can whip up in no time in the comfort of your own sewing space!
