WALLS The practice of decorating walls to personalise our dwellings has existed for thousands of years, and has evolved most recently to combine style with modern life requirements. Wall covering is a highly effective way of personalising design. Whether you’re looking for colourful or neutral, patterned or abstract, textured or flat, geometric or floral — wall covering offers many ways to add impact to any space, along with practicality and durability. It is also important to note that according to lifecycle analysis, wall covering lasts five times longer than paint, under normal usage conditions. Most vinyl wall covering can retain its original beauty and performance characteristics for up to 15 years, whereas a painted surface must be cleaned more frequently to maintain its appearance and generally requires repainting approximately every three years. Materialised offers a vast range of plain, textured and sustainable wall coverings, artists and in-house collections, with the ability to customise design and digitally print wall vinyls from our Sydney-based manufacturing facility. Even textiles can be used as wall covering! Whatever you require, we’ve got you covered. • Durable • Anti-mildew • Stain Resistant • Low VOC • Flame Retardant • PVC-Free • Abrasion Resistant • Bleach Cleanable • Sustainable • Wipeable • Colourfast

ACOUSTIC WALLS Acoustic performance is an important, yet sometimes underrated element of building design. Acoustics shouldn’t just be considered in building types like concert halls and theatres, but also hotels, bars and restaurants. However, while the design for concert halls and theatres may focus on producing the perfect sound quality, designing hotels and restaurants often calls for sound to be minimised as much as possible. In hotels for example, there is the potential for many noise sources - from guests in the halls or adjacent rooms; from plumbing, HVAC and elevators; from function rooms and exterior noise from vehicles. Materialised offer amazing acoustic solutions for walls, ceilings, art and windows, improving comfort without compromising the aesthetics and design integrity.

OPERABLE WALLS Operable walls present opportunities to add character to a room in addition to the functionality of partitioning it as a flexible sight and sound solution. Whether it’s a subtle texture or a bold design statement, the fabric needs to possess certain characteristics demanded of such mobile panels. • • •

Robust Appropriate flame retardancy Stable

• •

Resistance to adhesive penetration Ease of cleanability

Select from hundreds of ready-made solutions or customise the design to suit your project requirement.

WhisperWall® WhisperWall® is an upholstered panelling system that is built directly into the wall or ceiling and constructed on-site. The panels can be customised to the given space or used to add acoustic elements that blend into the existing surroundings. They are available in a vast range of colours and patterns and our custom art and design options allow for a huge range of possibilities. WhisperWall consists of an acoustic neutral (or transparent) fabric, which is digitally printed and wrapped around a PVC track profile encasing acoustic foam. WhiperWall is fully customised to fit the space and installed by our team on site. •

TEXTILES

DIGITALLY PRINTED TEXTILES Materialised specialise in prints, digitally printed onto a vast range of high-performance textile and wall vinyl substrates at our manufacturing facility in Sydney. Our print collection houses designs by Sibella Court, P/Kaufmann, Florence Broadhurst, Jimmy Pike, Grace Garrett, Patricia Braune, Shibori, Sara Berrenson and Typoflora. We also have an in-house design team who create collections under the name ‘Hot Off The Press.’ Our method of printing is dye sublimation transfer where the design is printed in-house onto a transfer paper and then transferred by heat and pressure into the fabric (aka ‘dry dying.’) This process uses virtually no water; there is no wasteful speculation; the designs are printed with the highest quality standards and definition while providing the client with infinite options. Base cloths are sourced from the world’s finest mills and, wherever possible, from Australia. Each textile substrate has passed an array of industry-compliant commercial grade tests for strength, washing, abrasion and flammability
