WHAT WE THINK OF THE SPORTS PICTOGRAMS OF THE OLYMPIC SUMMER GAMES FROM TOKYO 1964 TO RIO 2016 THE 3è EURO CLASS APRIL 2016
I prefer the pictograms of the Olympic Games in Mexico in 1968 because, first, on each pictogram an object or a symbol is drawn to represent each activity; we can recognize them easily and we cannot confuse them. For example, the representation of the Modern Pentathlon is very good, it is representated by the five pictograms that compose this activity. Then, in my opinion, it is clearer if there is a different color for each pictogram : it is a good way of recognition. Unlike the pictograms in Moscow in 1980 which all have the same color, they are colourful and I prefer that. Finally, I think it’s a very positive idea to draw the part of the body or the equipment matching to each activity : a foot for athletics, a horse for equestrian‌
Victor Jorand First, in my opinion, I prefer the pictogram of basketball of Mexico city 1968 because just a part of the equipment is represented but we know that it consists in basketball. After that I like this pictogram because the color is beautiful and simple. Finally, I have chosen this pictogram because it makes reference to Mexican culture and history.

I've chosen Mexico's pictogams which were made in 1968 because first, they are very colorful and full of joy. Then, they are understandable. Finally, my favourite one is the water polo one because I enjoy the design of the water and the ball, I love the color in the background too.
Lucile François I have chosen the pictograms of the Olympic Games in Mexico City in 1968 because : First, the pictograms are very colorful and in my opinion it is so funny. After that, the graphics and the shapes are simple. Finally, the pictograms are refined by targeting the body part or object according to each sport.
Nina Bonhomme In my opinion, the best pictograms are pictograms in 1968 in Mexico. First, I think colors are really flashy and catchy. Then, I also love their drawings, I think they are better than pictograms in 1964, there are more details. Finally, they are more beautiful than pictograms of 1964.
Théodore Lévisse Mexico's olympic pictograms were created in 1968. I prefer them because they are more colourful than the other olympic pictograms. They are very simple but they are understandable which makes them very nice. This is the reason why I prefer them.

First, I like the pictoframs from Los Angeles 1984 because on the one hand they are simple and light and on the other hand we understand the sport very easily. Next, the judo pictogram is the best one because I love judo, this is my favourite hobby.

My favourite pictograms are Los Angeles ones. I like them because I think they are pretty and I enjoy their simplicity. Moreover, the background is grey and it changes from the other pictograms of the other Summer olympic games. I like every pictogram except the sailing one because we don’t understand it represents sailing ! Finally, the characters’ heads are round which isn’t the case of the pictograms of Barcelona which are, in my opinion, too extravagant.

My favorite pictograms are the pictograms of Atlanta in 1996. I've chosen these because they are the most realistic so it's easy to recognize the sports. I love every pictogram except Wrestling because I don't really understand this sport. And I prefer pictograms without frame . The men are more muscular than in the other pictograms and for me it's normal for a man who practises a sport to be muscular.

In my opinion, I prefer the pictograms of Atlanta 1996 because a character is drawn compared to Mexico city ones on which only the sports are respresented, without the athlete. It’s a pity. Moreover, they are not in a frame, there’s the feeling of freedom. Finally, they are in black and this is better than the red colour of Montreal pictograms.

First my favourite pictograms are the ones of Rio 2016 because I like the new and different shape (neither circle nor square) and the simple color which are enjoyable to watch. After that I have the impression that the characters are moving through the frames and the smooth curves. My favorite Rio's pictogram is Taekwondo: I find it is well-represented. Moreover, I like London 2012 pictograms too because they are very colorful. However I prefer the "silhouette" version because I find that we can see them better. To conclude my favorite one is the Equestrian-Dressage because I think that the horse really represents a horse and it has a good design with a good
attitude like the Atlanta one in 1996.

In my opinion, the London 2012 pictograms which were designed by SomeOne design agency are the most beautiful. First, the colours were inspired by the underground map and I find it's a good concept and the colours are dynamic too. Next, the lines are well-arranged and more simple than the Beijing pictograms. Finally, the person of the pictograms are designed like real people.

I'd say I prefer the pictograms from London (2012) because I really like the blue and pink colors. They're all nice but I love the Wrestling Dynamic one most because of the graphism. It's different from the others because, first of all, it is in color with a white background, and the colors look really fresh. The other pictograms are white with a blue or pink background, which is great too but less interesting. The characters' design is simple, which is nice since you can easily recognize the sport it is about. Finally, I love the fact that it is original but still simple and usual.
Sarah El Majd I have chosen the pictogram of gymnastics rhythmic of London 2012 for three reasons. First, I love the pink colour. Then, I think the figure is very graceful. The dancing girl is jumping with a hoop. After that, the pictogram looks like a painting. It is very artistic. On the one hand, this pictogram is very simple but on the other hand I think it is more beautiful than the other pictograms.

I prefer London pictograms because : -They are more colourful, I like when it's coloured. -They look modern, according to me, the other pictograms seem less worked and old -It's more pleasant to look at these pictograms than the other ones.

First , our favourite group of pictograms of Olympic Games is London 2012. Then , we like this group of pictograms because, according to us, there are bright colours like pink and blue , the « silhouettes » are modern and dynamic and this gives life to the pictograms. Each discipline is represented in a square and we can easily recognize them because they are very well designed. Next, we really enjoy the pictograms of equestrian sport because horses are very well drawn. After that, in our opinion, the dynamic version is original because the graphic designer have chosen to represent the pictograms with lines which remember the London Underground map and this is a great idea. Finally, we also like Mexico City’s pictograms because it is in the same style ; with loads of colours; but we prefer London ones because there are more elements that represent each sport and they are less old than Mexico's. Michau Julie / Merino-Perez Fanny My favorite Olympic Pictograms are those of London in 2012 because I think they are better achieved than in the previous years. Moreover, I love the pictogram of basket of this year, because it's funny. Finally, I think pictograms of London in 2012 are the most representative for the Olympic sports.
