BIO.
I’m Jeremy Hanson Purba, most of the people call me Jeremy. Currently I'm an architecture undergraduate from Parahyangan Catholic University (UNPAR), Bandung, Indonesia. I was born in Medan (Indonesia) on May 27th 2000. Ever since I was a kid, I have always loved art and design. Now, I am most passionate in Architecture, Photography and Videography. As an architecture student, I like to think that being an architect is about being a problemsolver by creating spaces to unite people and their environment. Honestly, I can be very lazy sometimes. But that is the main reason how I became a problemsolver because I always find a way to finish my missions with minimum effort and maximum result.

Nyastava or nyaestava means beehive in the Sundanese script. The design concept was inspired from the similarity of the function of the building with beehives, which is as a place to live as well as a place to work. The climate on the site also supports the building concept because the tropical climate is the most ideal climate for bees. the concept itself is implemented into several elements of the building design.

This project is a program of the Garut Regency Housing and Settlement Service and Yahintara who took the initiative to reorganize the concept of livable housing. Located in an area that is quite far from urban areas, this can have many impacts and considerations to the design. Currently, 25 housing units in the village have been completed. Located at the foot of Mount Galunggung, this area consists of several facilities such as playground, community hall and mosque.

IHSAN ISLAM IMAN
In the city of Garut, the first mosque built was the Great Mosque of Garut which was built around the 19th century. The mosque was originally built with the shape of the Tajuk Tumpang Tiga roof, which in ancient times was a typical form of the great mosque in Java. In Islamic architecture, this roof shape symbolizes three important levels, namely Iman, Islam, and Ihsan. Along with the times, the shape of the roof of the Great Mosque of Garut underwent many changes, and in the end, the shape of the roof was changed to a dome shape referring to the style of Middle Eastern mosques.

The use of ornaments on the main door serves to emphasize the identity and function of the mosque as well as the aesthetics of the facade.
The partition on the side of the Qibla direction has a wider woven gap than the other side to emphasize the Qibla direction so as not to cause an ambiguous impression because of the centralized plan.

Unlike other buildings, the mosque building is taller than the surrounding buildings to show a higher degree and also as the village landmark.
Responding to the modern era, the building also applies several characteristics of modern architecture, such as a rectilinear and minimalist facade.
ARCHITECTURE 30
Unlike the mosque, the shape of the community hall is simpler and in harmony with the surrounding houses. In the future, this building will be used a lot for residents to work informally. However, to make it seem more open and flexible, this building is dominantly open and only a few parts are covered by partitions. This will be useful when residents are holding an open event in the village.

EDUCATION JL. WASTUKENCANA NO.52, TAMANSARI, KEC. BANDUNG WETAN, BANDUNG, WEST JAVA, INDONESIA 40116 5.550 M2 GRADED ENRICO NIRWAN, ST., MT., MA. 2021
This project is related to the title of Bandung City as the city of education. The polytechnic campus consists of 3 faculties (architecture, visual communication design, and interior design). The building itself will need several facilities to accomodate the user needs such as steel workshop, wood workshop, plumbing workshop, paint workshop, class, design studio, library, rectorate, etc. In the site itself, there is a heritage building that cannot be disturbed, so the design must deal with the heritage building architecture.

35 ARCHITECTURE
The building concept departs from two approaches, the environmental characteristics and the building function. There are several points that become the starting point for the building concept, the location of the site between two different environments, the existing buildings on the site with various architectural styles, the existence of a heritage building on the site that cannot be destroyed, and the function of the building as a campus. Based on the left photos taken from google maps, the conditions in the western environment tend to be fresher, greener and livable, while the eastern environment is drier and less livable. The existence of these two environments causes the location of the site to appear as a transition between two different environments. This building serves as a polytechnic campus. For most people, campus is not only a place to seek knowledge, friends, or to hone soft skills and hard skills, but also a place where people feel the transition period between youth and adulthood. Based on the photo below, the building in the existing site has an increasingly modern architectural style towards the north. The environmental expresses a transition between the past and the future.
ARCHITECTURE 36
The building masses are arranged linearly and higher towards the north to address the skyline.
Addition between masses as a liaison
Addition of a podium to support space requirements
Subtraction to create semi-outoor areas
Subtraction diagonally gives the expression of mass addressing the nodes
Creating curved corners to address the architectural elements of the heritage bulding
Addition to give accent to the building

ARCHITECTURE 40
Rooms that have the potential to cause the greatest source of noise are the workshops. Thus, the workshops are positioned close to the part of the site with the largest noise source, right near the node. The use of the green roof in the upper room can be useful to reduce noise caused by the workshop. The green roof can also be used for outdoor areas like the communal space of the building, also providing a natural atmosphere to the environment in the middle of an urban area. The workshops use natural lighting through skylights which can also be used as tables and seats on the roof garden of the building. Based on the perspective section in the previous page, the masses of the building are arranged like a ladder, which represents several meanings. First is to describe a building rising to the north to symbolize the development of increasingly sophisticated technology from era to era that allows buildings to be built higher.

After experiencing a few changes of function inside the house due to new behaviours during the pandemic, the house needed more space to serve many more new activities inside the house. The old garage will be utilized as a warehouse which causes the car to have to park in front of the house. The old condition of the house doesn't have any shelter to protect the car from heat or rain. The challenge is to create a canopy that matches the house facade to create unity between the house and the canopy.
45 ARCHITECTURE
ARCHITECTURE 46
There will be several elements from the facade that will be implemented to the canopy such as the wooden wall and the thin white walls. The owner wanted the design to have a minimalist and elegant design. As a bataknese, the owner is frequently visited by guests, especially on big events. The canopy can be functioned as a shelter while having an event. The wooden ceiling offers a homey expression when the canopy is being used as a shelter while having an event. The two line lights shows the two parking spaces available also welcoming the driver through the axis of the lights.
