The demand for agricultural investment has increased in the last few years and Qatar is one of the key markets making noteworthy strides in agriculture and landscaping. With this growing demand, farms are under development to be equipped with agricultural machinery. Despite the climate conditions in Qatar, one of the biggest landscape turf farm in the world has been built in order to provide high quality turf and trees for the venues of the World Cup 2022. The landscaping and turf management of the stadium has also created a demand on the small size agricultural machinery, and it is expected to leave a lasting environmental and sustainable legacy after the tournament in the country. Boomer tractor range is one of the mechanized solutions that has been delivered to Qatar on this regard and reached a milestone in its segment.
Boomer: More efficiency and productivity in the same compact package
The Boomer range packs a bigger performance while maintaining its compact size for small horticulture and agriculture applications, homeowners, rural life stylers, landscapers, golf courses, municipalities, and hobby farmers. It has been extended with two new Class 3 models, the 41 hp Boomer 40 and the 47 hp Boomer 50, so that it covers the power segment close to 50 hp. The more powerful offering further increases the Boomer’s versatility, as they can take on with greater ease and the most demanding operations typical of this range – from mowing to transport and other duties such as light tillage, sweeping, snow clearance and general maintenance.
The new Boomer range also enhances operator comfort and reduces fatigue with a host of features. On the Boomer 50 model with hydrostatic transmission, Cruise Control is available as standard. From glasshouse to field and from orchard to vegetable production, the efficient mechanical transmission the Boomer 35, 40 and 50 have the performance the customer demands.
The Boomer 25, Boomer 35 and Boomer 50 models with hydrostatic transmission are available with the EZ Speed function, which coordinates the forward hydrostatic pedal and engine speed, resulting in greater efficiency and versatility. When the operator activates it and the hand throttle is in the low position, the engine will speed up when the hydrostatic pedal is pushed. This ensures they have the right engine speed and the right ground speed available whenever the operator needs it. This is very useful in applications where, for example, the operator wishes to maintain a low noise level when the tractor is stopped and increase engine speed only when the tractor begins to move. The function can also be deactivated, enabling the operator to manage independently the hand throttle lever and hydrostatic pedal in PTO applications where they need to maintain a specific engine speed in order to ensure the required PTO speed.
Sports turf demands specialized care and maintenance. New Holland Boomer tractors are offered in the Class 2 and Class 3 sizes with respective outputs of 38hp and 41 or 47hp. The Boomer 35 model can be specified with a 12 forward and 12 reverse speed mechanical transmission, the larger Boomer 40 and Boomer 50 offers a 16 forward and 16 reverse speed transmission in addition to a three-range hydrostatic. Highly efficient, mechanical transmissions have a direct link between engine speed and forward speed which is ideal for heavier applications to include aeration and cultivation. The hydrostatic variant is ideally suited to top dressing, spraying, seeding and fertiliser application owing to its smooth and precise operation.
The 4 cylinder deliver a powerful performance, with outstanding torque back up which reaches 140 Nm @ 1600 rpm in the Boomer 50. The larger radiator and cooling fan further enhance the engine’s efficiency. The Boomer’s high versatility in all applications is supported by the extensive choice of tyres which includes agriculture, and high flotation tyres for turf.
