Following the original 1922 Tribune Tower Competition and the Late Entries exhibit of 1980, the studio was asked to create “late late� entries, with each group responding to a particular characteristic of the building, in this case, the building surface. The

winding throughout as a response to the increasing democratization of the news-making process. The modules of the surface expand and contract to reveal this public space and conceal private office spaces. Covering the building in this geometric fabric results in readings of both complexity and homogeneity. The end product was a single image and a short text description, which were the only basis for evaluation. The images were exhibited at FigureOne Gallery in Champaign. This project was picked as the favorite by exhibition visitors, and after heated debate, was awarded second prize by a faculty panel.
