Peter Fuller begins his 15th season at the University of Mobile and has compiled a 309-112-27 career record, with a 195-82-16 mark at Mobile. The river of coaching experience and accolades runs deep for the three-time NAIA Coach of the Year. Fuller is the only coach to garner NAIA National Coach of the Year honors at two different institutions; one in 1992 with Belhaven College and two at Mobile in 1999 and 2002. With a career that includes winning an NAIA national championship with Belhaven in 1992 and taking Houghton College to the NAIA National Quarter Finals in 1994, Fuller arrived at Mobile in 1995 and in 2002 captured his second NAIA Fuller’s File national championship.
Peter Fuller
Fuller was also an accomplished player, achieving NAIA All-American status as a defender and midfielder for Houghton College in 1979 and 1980. Fuller followed up a stellar collegiate career with a professional soccer career by being a First Draft Pick for the New York Eagles. Fuller also played professionally for the Rochester Flash, Memphis Americans, Sports Life and Jackson Rockers. Between 1979 and 1986, Fuller played in twentyseven countries on eight different tours representing various organizations, including the United States.

He attended the National Coaching Institute of Canadian High Performance Coaches Symposium in June of 1987.
A native of New Brunswick, Canada, Remi Roy is one of the best goalkeepers to have ever worn a University of Mobile uniform. Garnering NAIA All-American honors playing on the 1999 squad that lost in the national championship game of the NAIA National Tournament, Roy has since spent time training with the MLS Columbus Crew and has worked camps for them dealing exclusively with the goalkeepers. Roy also played for the PDL Spokane Shadow, Jackson Chargers, and the Des Moines Menace. Roy served as the goalkeeping player/coach for the A-League Syracuse Salty Dogs and as the head coach for the PDL Syracuse Select in 2003. From 2004-07, he served as a player/assistant coach for the USL 1st Division Virginia Beach Mariners of the United Soccer League. A consummate professional, Roy brings invaluable experience and knowledge of what it takes to be a very technically sound goalkeeper.
Remi Roy
Roy is a graduate of the University of Mobile with a degree in Science and Physical Education. He has devoted nine years in playing for his Canadian province and has served as the UM goalkeeping coach since the fall of 2000. Roy has a USSF “A”, a Level I and Level II goalkeeping licenses. In addition, Roy is on the Olympic Developmental Region III staff, serving as a goalkeeping coach. He serves as the Puerto Rican National Team Goalkeeping Coach in preparation for the 2010 World Cup.

The University of Mobile men's soccer team will head into 2009 looking to return to the NAIA National Tournament, after advancing to the Elite Eight in 2008.
and we have many good players," Fuller said. "You peak in November by playing quality opponents in September and October to prepare for tough postseason opponents."
"I'm cautiously optimistic; I think we have a good team," Head Coach Peter Fuller said. "We have a core group of players that will be counted on to step up and set the tone for the season."
Fuller is counting on improved goal scoring and talented newcomers to overcome the losses on defense and strong schedule. "Hopefully with the additions in midfield and upfront, and another year from Ruben and Onesimus, we will be better at scoring on the flow of the play, and not having to rely on set pieces like we have in the past couple of years," Fuller said.
Among those being counted on to fill key roles are Ruben Diaz, Onesimus Ikungo, Morgan Copes, David Maddren and Gerardo Flores. "Ruben has scored a bunch of goals the last two years and we need him to score in double digits again," Fuller said. "Morgan has been a great player off the bench and has contributed some big goals in key games. David is the team captain and is a big piece of the puzzle both as a defender and as a leader, while Gerardo has developed by leaps and bounds and played some great games for us." The Rams are also set in goal, where Jason Williams returns as the starter after going 13-5 with 5.5 shutouts in 2008. Kyle Buxton gained some valuable playing time and will serve as the No. 2 keeper. "Jason is coming off a great year and Kyle has improved a lot," Fuller said. "But, Jason has had some injury problems playing this summer and we will have to see where he's at." Injury questions also plague potential key contributors Jack St. Hilaire and Robbie Ford. Jack is returning from a sports hernia, while Ford could be a big help in the back if he can stay away from the injuries that limited him to eight games last year. Aside from injuries, key losses from the team's stout defense, and an always-difficult schedule could stand in the way of a return to the postseason. Gone from 2008's defense that limited opponents to 32 goals in 22 games are former NAIA All-Americans Matt Watts and Thomas Wharf. Watts graduated, while Wharf transferred to University of Connecticut. "Losing Wharf and Watts is big, and we are
Ruben Diaz will be counted on to lead the Mobile offense after tallying 12 goals and 12 assists in 2008.
depending on the new guys to help out and the returning players to continue to improve," Fuller said. Those players will need to gel quickly, as Mobile will face some tough opponents in 2009. The Rams' 2009 schedule features 16 games overall, including nine home contests. Gulf Coast Athletic Conference play will send the Rams on the road for three of the four contests, with only Spring Hill visiting the Jungle. "Our schedule is tough as usual," Fuller said. "There are probably 10-12 Top 25's on the schedule; we aren't ducking anyone. We will have our hands full and if we don't play well, we will lose." Highlighting the schedule is Final Four team Oklahoma City, Martin Methodist, who lost to eventual National Champion Bethel in their conference finals; always-tough California schools Azusa Pacific and Concordia; and UTBrownsville, whom Mobile faced in the NAIA National Championship Opening Round contest in 2008. While the schedule will provide challenges, it will also make the team better in the long run and provide a greater chance at securing an atlarge bid to nationals if needed. "Good players want to play quality opponents
Cedric Carrie is another piece that could help the offense improve after tallying 13 points in 2008 as a freshman. Some incoming players expected to help out at forward or midfield are Sam Blackburn, Henrique Bertoli, Bernardo Zamora, and possibly Frank Nshnamba, who could play either upfront or in the back. "Sam is very good and has played at a good level, while Henrique is a really good goal scorer that can play center forward or on either wing," Fuller said. "Frank comes from Virginia Commonwealth and has the versatility to help us on either end of the field, while Bernardo is a really good passer who should play some good minutes for us." With the losses on defense, the Rams added many defenders for the 2009 season: Chris Dillon, Kyle Kimbrell, Saolo Literio, Andrew Arbet, Brandon Sema and Jonathan Kondis. "Chris is a good solid defender who has good speed and is good in the air, while Kyle can play anywhere across the back and will look to take Matt Watts' place," Fuller said. "I saw Saulo play in the PDL Premier Development League, and he is a good player, while Andrew and Jonathan are a couple of local kids that will help our depth. Brandon comes from Ocean Springs, MS to add some more depth in the backfield." Mobile will begin their postseason quest September 4-5 in Montgomery, AL where they will face Marian and Martin Methodist.

The 2008 University of Mobile men's soccer team turned in another memorable season for a program that has a storied history, which includes 12 trips to the NAIA National Tournament, six Final Four Appearances and a NAIA National Championship in 2002.
Championship Opening Round contest. After using three second-half goals to dispose of UT-Brownsville, the Rams continued to roll with a sparkling 7-0 victory over Dana College in the Sweet 16 before falling 3-0 to Bethel two days later in the Elite Eight.
The Rams finished the season 13-7-2, won the Gulf Coast Athletic Conference Championship and advanced to the Elite Eight of the NAIA National Tournament before falling to eventual National Champion Bethel College. "We had a great run," Mobile Head Coach Peter Fuller said. "We were inconsistent early, but things really clicked and we got hot at the right time." The Rams faced a tough early schedule, facing the likes of Rio Grande, Notre Dame, Embry-Riddle and William Carey, and paid the price, falling to 3-4-2 to start the season. A 0-1 overtime loss to William Carey capped that rough stretch that saw the Rams' offense score only one goal or less in five of the first nine games. "We knew going in we could lose some early games with the schedule we had, but we expected our offense to do a bit better," Fuller said. Do better they did, as the Mobile offense tallied two or more goals in all but two games the rest of the way. They did it with a balanced offense, as seven players tallied five or more goals on the season, led by Ruben Diaz's 12 goals.
Matt Watts was 2nd-Team NAIA All-American and GCAC Player of the Year in 2008.
The improved offensive output and continued growth of keeper Jason Williams helped lead that late-season charge that catapulted Mobile deep into postseason play. Beginning Nov. 1 with a 6-1 throttling of Berry College, the Rams won six consecutive games by a combined 26-1 margin. "We really picked it up in crunch time," Fuller said. "Jason and our backline were outstanding, and our offense just kept producing." Following the Berry win, Mobile beat Belhaven and William Carey by 2-0 scores to take the GCAC Championship before hosting a NAIA Play-In game, since the conference did not have enough teams for direct qualification. The play-in game was no problem, as the Rams blanked Mountain State 6-0 to earn the right to host UTBrownsville in a NAIA National
"Gerardo Flores really played big against UT-Brownsville, marking their best player and holding him in check, while Onesimus Ikungo and Morgan Copes both made things happen against Dana to spark our team," Fuller said. "Against Bethel, we just ran into a hot team and we couldn't get anything going. Only getting a pair of shots on target the entire game isn't going to cut it." Awards poured in for the Rams thanks to the impressive season. Matt Watts was named GCAC Player of the Year and 2nd-Team NAIA All-American, while Ruben Diaz joined Watts as an All-GCAC selection and was named Honorable Mention NAIA AllAmerican. "Watts was just splendid both years he was here," Fuller said. "He was a stalwart on defense and our go-to guy on set pieces. What can you say about Ruben, a two-time All-American; he just continues to score goals and set others up to score, which is really crucial to our offense." Joining those two as All-GCAC selections were Jason Williams, Thomas Wharf, David Maddren and Jack St. Hilaire.
