The camera rises and the lens finds its way inside a police helicopter.

the grid, below now, is flattened. erasing each action as it occurs. the fires alight in the sky.

1st hand documentation: geological cameras, photographers, court reporters, diarists without walls now, their papers fall like ash. The earth’s crust - like a carpet. Pulled out by a giant. Plates in buildings rattle.

Sisyphus returns. The helicopter approaches him and cuts at his skull with its blades.


Collective memories are no more in the desert than in our great cities. Rivers connecting the two meander in helixes, suspended in the tundra, vaporous at the equator.

ACCIDENT: The janitors at Grand Central Station have used margarine instead of wax for the marble floors.

The scene is a mess, nothing but compound fractures ripping through pinstripes.

In Memoriam: the rooms will be filled to their ceilings with sand dyed pink.

Families have made makeshift memorials on the sidewalk.

So many candles.

A friendly terrorist group comes late.

Spreading sodium carbonate and lime around the candles.

By dawn the immense heat from the candles reacts with the materials- and- forms a crystalline glass structure encapsulating the historic station. A memorial of chance.
