Homeostasis This technology studio focused on creating a module, which reacted with heat to create a shading system to reduce heat gain within the building. These modules either focued on nature or more mechanical means. Our group focused on the former.

Final result of module for Homeostasis technologystudio. Coiled metal reacts with heat and shortens to open up panels to reduce the amount of heat gain within the spaces within the building.

Strategy Several types of strategies have been used within the design of the building. This includes structural, circulation, construction of panels for heat reduction, acoustics within Black Box performance space and acoustics within practice rooms.

Atmosphere The lighting created within the building will be determined by the heat gain within the space and how coiled up the spinrgs are.

Environment Due to the environment of Vienna in the summer, where the temperature can become extremely high, therefore ways of cooling the building are extremely necessary.
