1. New Balance Team Athletics Apparel Graphics

New Balance Team Athletics provides uniquely designed uniforms for Track and Field teams at all levels, high school through Olympic qualifiers. My work specifically involves creating the custom graphics for each uniform we produce.

Fully Customized Services Unlike our competitors, we give the coaches and athletes free reign on their designs. Using sublimated printing we can produce a full range of colors and detailed graphics.

Design for Production The designs are created in flat CAD styles for approval from the customers. We can consider every detail down the color of the stitching.

Branded Style We also work to create unique branded designs for special track and field events and national tournaments. These pieces were designed to cater to specific state events.

Samples Physical samples and designs greatly impact future sales and help to display our products during conventions and events. These designs were created for the Antigua and Barbados National team.

2. Lagomorph Design Furniture Design

My role as a furniture designer at Lagomorph is one of many hats. Being a small team, I am able to be involved in multiple stages of the process and learn about the production by collaborating with the fabrication crew. Our clients included architects, designers, general contractors, and homeowners. We are involved in all stages of the process. Sometimes as designers and creators, others only as translators and fabricators.

Millwork & Furniture Projects

&

There are two project types Millwork & Furniture. Each project has a unique process before the final product is delivered.

Process @ Lagomorph

In millwork projects, we translate the design intent identifying problems and discussing them with our clients. Then we work out the details, create shop drawings and fabricate.

In MDRN projects, we sketch concepts and create CAD models. We test our ideas by creating prototypes in our shop. Then we are able to identify problems in manufacturing and revise our designs.

Concept Development

During my time at Lagomorph, we’ve started to develop the MDRN line. These products are meant to be produced in batch quantities, not custom one-off’s like the majority of Lagomorph’s current business.

2. HyperReact

Sports Equipment System Kids begin exploring sports at a young age. This curiosity leaves their parents paying for equipment that may only be used one season. My system creates a modular pad system in which the pads are rented and returned each season during this exploration.

Kids & sports

Many parents limit their children’s sports exploration due to the high cost of the equipment needed. Even kids who do play these ‘equipment heavy’ sports are still buying new equipment since they are out growing what they own. My goal is to open up these high cost sports to everyone and aid them in their growth along the way.

Used Sports Pads are like Used Cars

There is a limited selection, no safety check, and they can be unreliable

4. Logan Square Soccer Club Sports Branding

In the fall of 2012, I started reconnecting with what I truly love, sports design. The project gained momentum and was taken from a few sketches to a fully realized set of products and apparel. The goal of the Logan Square branding project was to create an identity and uniform kit for a neighborhood soccer club. The brand had to connect the rich history of the neighborhood with the new sense of rebirth and culture.

The love of sport

Sports bring people together and create a unified sense of identity and pride

Scale Down

The challenge was to translate the national pride and sense of identity of national football into a local neighborhood setting.

Building an Identity Logan Square is a neighborhood that has transformed over the past few years. The center of the neighborhood is the square itself. The large column monument is the centerpiece of the badge, just as it is in Logan. The colors and stars were selected to match the Chicago flag.

5. Rocky Boots Footwear Design

During the internship at Rocky Brands I helped to develop casual shoes and hunting boot designs for the fall season. Sketching and materials was a major emphasis. The summer long experience was a crash course in footwear design.

Understanding Brand & Style Rocky Outdoor Gear is a world leader in rugged outdoor and occupational footwear. A corporate office, warehouse, and distribution center reside the original manufacturing building in Nelsonville that goes back to 1932

The main project goal was to create a family of shoes that reflected the rugged feel of the Rocky brand but, integrated into a more casual everyday shoe. The challenge of the design was to create these designs on an existing outsole.

Materials & Construction The hunting shoe uses durable Cordura material and fullgrain water proof leather. A rigid plastic heel piece was added to lock the foot down across difficult terrain. The casual chukka is made from suede and a full grain leather. Accent stitching and laces gives the shoe a more fashionable feel.

First Pullovers

Test shoes were made and produced in a new manufacturer from the Dominican Republic. This project was also used to evaluate the plant’s abilities and quality control.
