The driving concept of the design was one of Compression, which originated from studying the artwork of Alberti Giocometti. The main areas of compression are Giacometti’s gallery on the first floor, as well as a ten foot thick wall in the middle of the museum. This wall is the major threshold, anytime one moves into a new space, they must move through this wall.
