panel system

The assambly of the panel system is extremely userfriendly. With the substructure provided on the following sites, you save costs and time. The system scores with excellent acoustic properties and can be used in every installation situation. We offer the system with all popular perforations and slots that are precisely fitting and revisable. With akustikplus you will find the right product for every project. Let your visions and wishes to design run free. We would be happy to advise you on everything from the selection to implementation.

15

Substructure and installation We have developed a special rail system made of galvanized steel for an easy installation of the panels. It consists of the following components: Wall rail Panel rail Panel rail

WL 21/48 and PL 16/48 (for assambly with tounge and groove) or PL 32/48 (for assambly with joint system)

The wall and panel rails are supplied with a length of 4.000 mm. Both have elongated holes that are optimally matched to the fastening grids of the carrier panels in a horizontal and in a vertical orientation. Compared to other rails available on the market, the specific folding of the wall molding achieves a favorable weight distribution. The flat panel rail significantly reduces the pressure on the screws. The attachment by hanging is invisible, enables an easy dismantling and looks more attractive than direct screwing. The panels can be removed quickly and easily, and lines and pipes behind the elements are easily accessible. In addition, the system enables tension-free assembly of the elements and their subsequent adjustment. Basically, a hub (at least 16 mm) is necessary for all fastening methods by hanging in order to enable lifting and lowering. The hub remains visible as a shadow gap. The fastening system has been statically tested. A documented proof can be viewed if necessary.

Joint options: When using the offered substructure belonging to the system, we recommend two alternatives for the joint design. Each one is giving your wall cladding a completely different appearance. With using the tongue and groove cladding, the mural appears homogeneous. The overall impression is determined by the chosens surface. If you made your descision for a joint system, the panel structure becomes an additional design element. Both types of installation are shown on pages 18 and 19 as a structural detail and in the horizontal or vertical installation.

Your benefits at a glance: • 4.000 mm long and individually adaptable • stable material made of galvanized steel • statically tested construction • adjustable afterwards • no access point needed

SLIMLINE VARIETY

slimline STRIPES With stripes we have expanded our successful slimline product range and included an interesting, irregular slit pattern enriched with recurring repeats. Wall or ceiling claddings in this version appear calm and are of timeless aesthetics. A closer or longer look on linear grids can cause an unpleasant effect of a blurring slit image. This slit pattern looks particularly valuable when using black-dyed core material (see image below). The lamellas are easy to install, cost-efficient and can be installed with almost no waste.

slimline green RELIEF

A new dimension in room acoustics With the newly developed panel relief, we have added an interesting innovation to our ecologically sustainable slimline green product range: The panel has lamellas that vary in height and are produced by high-precision profile milling machines that penetrate the wood to different depths.

This is giving a characteristic 3D look. The three-dimensional structure ensures visual harmony and is very pleasant to the eyes of the viewer. Thanks to the diverse slot grid stripes 3 and 4, akustikplus can offer the individually suitable product for every project. The panel is available in the following types of wood (visible side).

Substructure and installation for slimline products To assemble the slimlines, you can use traditional fastening systems such as battens or counter battens. The individual slats can either be attached through the groove with mounting brackets or the mounting clips shown here made of specially hardened steel. The system is equally suitable for both wall and ceiling mounting. If a non-flammable substructure is required for fire protection reasons, commercially available rails, e.g. from drywall construction, can be used. The mounting clips are then attached with self-tapping self-tapping screws. The slimline slats can be installed either in brickword design or without offset. Thanks to the laying system in the brickwork design, the installation is almost possible without any material waste. Depending on the size of the wall or ceiling surface, we recommend to lay narrow joints with a distance of 2 - 3 mm in order not to hinder material-appropriate dilation in the longitudinal direction (see installation and processing instructions on p. 45).

proofire A2 Surfaces The surface quality and texture of the composite panel is characterized by the mineral content of the core board and the use of thin micro-laminates, veneers or lacquer. Without a special pre-treatment of the core board (calibration), small unevenness can appear in the surface, e.g. are noticeable in grazing light. The small voids cannot be avoided in terms of production technology and do not represent a defect. We therefore differentiate between 3 qualities: AA-surface high quality surface A-surface finish with small iiregularities B-surface back layer without surface requirements

The available A2 composite panels are designed with an A-surface on the front and a B-surface on the back as standard. The panels are marked accordingly so that the respective surface can be clearly identified. Of course, other surface combinations are also possible on request. Due to the production process, A2 decorative surfaces can show slight deviations in color and structure compared to coated wood-based panels surfaces.

Core board The standard version of the core board proofire is colored in a light brown tone, which one with most veneers and wood decors harmonizes. This makes it possible to access an edge-coating and still get visually appealing edges.

Sound absorption In addition to the ongoing product development and optimization, independent acoustic measurements according to DIN EN ISO 354 “Measurement of sound absorption in reverberation rooms” carried out and evaluated mathematically according to DIN EN ISO 11654 by independent experts. On our website we provide the frequency-dependent values of the sound absorption coefficient as and the single number data aw (weighted sound absorption level), NRC (Noise Reduction Coefficient according to ASTM C 423) and SAA (Sound Absorption Average according to ASTM C 423) for different installation situations in tabular and graphical form.

Acoustography The perforation images in our acoustographs are based on a grid of 4 mm in both directions. In a combination of the hole diameters 1.5 mm, 2.0 mm and 2.5 mm, the perception of the contrast differences the visual effect of the perforation. With great attention to detail, our graphic designers process each template in several implementation steps in order to create the desired with the special stylistic device of the perforation, based on a regular grid to achieve image effect. The result are truly unique items. They can be both distinctive and eye-catching unobtrusive, discreet wall or ceiling design that enhances any interior.

FSC® / PEFC™ Of course, responsible use of natural resources is important to us. So customers can choose any product on request with proven origin from independent certified forests. The company akustikplus has one CoC certification (Chain-of-Custody) both according to FSC® (Forest Stewardship Council®) and PEFCTM (Program for the Endorsement of Forest Certification Schemes) and can therefore also be used in this area meet all national and international requirements.

Emission akustikplus uses proven low or zero emission raw materials. For a large number of products, we also have emission certificates for the composite products, taking into account the surface opened by perforations and slots, which were issued by the renowned WKI Institute.

Patents Some of our innovative products, elements, production processes and systems are protected by national and international utility models and patents. We will be happy to provide you with more information.

44

Installation and processing Our acoustically effective elements are only suitable for indoor use. These are characterized by a moisture content of the material that corresponds to a temperature of 20 °C/68°F and a relative humidity of the environment that only exceeds 65% for a few weeks a year. Before installing the acoustic elements, it must be ensured that the rooms are dry, i.e. the high humidity caused by screed or plastering work must be reduced to a minimum. The perforation or slitting increases the surface area of the board significantly, so that a change in humidity and climate can result in dimensional changes or warpage. Therefore, substructures and expansion joints must be adapted to the swelling and shrinkage behavior of the materials - from a length of one meter we recommend at least 2.5 mm expansion joint. Have a distance of 500 mm. Sufficient rear ventilation of the acoustic elements for climatic compensation must be ensured, as these can warp in front of and behind the elements due to different climatic conditions.

Conditioning Conditioning requires special attention. Conventional wood-based materials are already hygroscopic, i.e. they absorb air humidity and release it again. This behavior becomes clear through dimensional changes, which are referred to as shrinkage or swelling. The dimensional changes must be taken into account both during assembly and in the selection and number of fittings. Acoustic elements react to changes in climate due to their open surfaces with dimensional changes between 1.5 and 2.5 mm per meter. Basically, the storage and processing conditions of the elements should correspond to the climate of later use as far as possible. Before the installation of acoustic elements, they should be conditioned for a few days in the later rooms under the later conditions of use. The recommendations for storage must also be followed on construction sites.

Processing akustikplus products are based on wood-based materials that have been coated with decorative surfaces (with the exception of A1 or A2 carriers). Like wood-based materials, these can be processed without any problems, so that the general safety rules and processing principles for wood-based materials must be applied. Additional system technology or special adhesives are not required. If you have decided in favor of large-format panels for the press, we will be happy to support you with professional advice.

Transport and storage The transport and storage of acoustic elements must be carried out in the original packaging or on flat and stable pallets. If the packaging is removed, the acoustic elements are to be stored on full-surface, flat, stable protective panels. Avoid direct contact with the ground and / or direct sunlight. The top sheet should always be covered with a protective sheet of at least the same format. The acoustic elements must be stored in closed and dry storage rooms under normal climatic conditions (approx. 18 - 25 °C [64,4 - 77 °F] and 50 - 65% relative humidity).

Handling After removing the packaging and before processing, the acoustic elements must be checked for visible damage! Particular care is required when transporting and handling, as the elements lose stability due to the perforation or slits compared to consistently homogeneous panel materials - depending on the component size. In principle, all persons who work with acoustic panels should wear personal protective equipment such as gloves, safety shoes and suitable work clothing. The plates need to be lifted. Avoid shifting the decorative pages against each other or pulling them over each other.
