“INTERNMENT: STORIES FROM MAUI”

EXHIBIT - UNTIL MAY 20. On February 19, 1942, President Franklin D. Roosevelt signed Executive Order 9066 authorizing the internment of Japanese Americans, German Americans, and Italian Americans to camps in the United States. HAU WORKSHOP - APR 2. From its fl owers, to leaves, to the bark of the tree, the Hau is truly unique in its versatility. Students will leave with an education on the processing of hau, what it can be used for, its dyes, and how to dye the fi bers; a pamphlet with basic information on the hau; their hau bark they originally removed the ʻili lepo; the pre-processed hau fi bers that they sort themselves; and any of the hau they dyed themselves. $91 (members); $104 (non-members). 9am-1pm.
