Shamanic Symbols In shamanism there is often the use of symbols. These symbols are used to represents the spirits that the people might have encountered during the shamanic healing or on the shamanic journey. The symbols apart from telling us about our ancestors also acted as the source of the inspiration for the following generations. The reason of using the symbols on the medicines and other shamanic healing objects is that since all the shamanic work is related to spirit the spirits are actually influenced to a great extent. These symbols have been taken directly from the spirits as many people have claimed to have seen them on the shamanic journey. The symbols have been found in almost all the cultures and traditions in their carvings and the paintings. The cave art though happens to be one of their major sources. Our ancestral lifestyles could be very much analyzed looking at them. The various shamanic symbols do represent different things. The radiant lotus symbol for example stands for calming while the spiral sun symbol depicts the constant energy flow around us. The three eagle feather stands for the purification of the spirit whereas the turtle symbol stands for the prosperity. The sacred flame is for empowerment and the circle with the ring in it is for the protection. Apart from the mentioned symbols there are many other sacred symbols as well in shamanism just like these symbols each symbol stands for one thing or the other.
