Ah, spring seems to have finally arrived here in the Metro Vancouver area of the Pacific Northwest. How wonderful it is to the senses to be witness to the blooming of the local Japanese Cherry Blossoms. In celebration of the cherry blossoms people are scurrying around snapping pictures of the first blooms and counting how many have been observed and carefully taking notes of their types and locations around the Greater Vancouver area. The Vancouver Cherry Blossom Festival is now under way, celebrating through the medium of dance, photography, art, music, fairs & Haiku poetry. In Japan the cherry blossoms are much loved and have been celebrated within their culture for centuries. Hanami, is where the Japanese people go on excursions around Tokyo & Japan to view
the blossoming cherry trees in March and April each year. Cherry blossoms are symbolically tied with the Samurai culture and how they reflected on how, 'Fleeting the nature of the Samurai's life is'. Life is transient and fleeting, just like the blossoms of the cherry tree. Their beauty dazzles and amazes us for a short period of time, and then they are gone, so too is the beauty and the life of man. Join us at Frost Nursery or our google page +FROST NURSERIES as we post up dates of Blossoming Cherry Trees from around B.C. Canada, Japan & Europe. Send us your pictures and we will post them on Google + and our Facebook page Frost Nursery .
