Location: Tijuana, Mexico Year: 2011 | 4th Semester Softwares Used: AutoCAD, Sketchup, Photoshop & Hand Model Making
Nowadays, the city of Tijuana is facing an urban improvement necessity. The project is an urban intervention in the downtown area of the city, where there is a recovery of unused areas, turning them into active pedestrian alleys. The application of green areas, enhancing old facades, urban art, commercial areas and restaurants will create a great progressive difference and connectivity between important areas of this sector of the city. Achieving not only a more aesthetic space but also increasing an economic growth in the area.

The building consists of a series of pavilions of different heights and scales that rise from the main entrance. Each pavilion extends into the landscape through an exposed concrete structure that creates a series of different heights. The children and general collections consist of a double height volume with excellent admission of natural light, with glass walls that run along the south facade.
The light glass facades are complemented by a heavy concrete structure. The cruciform circulation binds a highly readable and simple geometry. Besides the services of a central library, the project includes a cafeteria, auditorium, exhibition hall, and meeting and work areas.

Restaurant
Location: Tijuana, Mexico Year: 2013 | 8th Semester Softwares Used: AutoCAD, Sketchup, Vray & Photoshop
Nativo is an organic cuisine restaurant designed based on culinary innovation and growth found in the city of Tijuana. The project counts with 10 parking spaces, 350 m2 of construction and a capacity of 120 diner guests. The conceptual design is developed from the organic perspective to attain a sense of nature with the use of natural and native materials such as clay brick, green walls and wood found in the region of Baja California. What makes Nativo a unique restaurant, is a green wall found in the interior of the building. The green wall is created with Baja California native plants, such as succulents and rosemary, making a perfect contrast with the regional wood wall found behind the green wall. The building is made of metallic structure for the double heights found in the dining area, as well as concrete shallow foundation for the kitchen area. The frontal facade is build by a clay brick wall and a glass access, creation a coherent combination.

Interior Design
Location: Tijuana, Mexico Year: 2013 | 8th Semester Softwares Used: AutoCAD, Sketchup, Artlantis & Photoshop
The project consists of redesigning a current mobile library located in the interior of a bus. The bus goes to different kindergarten and elementary schools every week, allowing 7 to 11 kids at the same time inside the space. In there, the children can pick up a book of their choise, watch a movie or do some other activities. The budget of the client was aproximatley $1000 US dollars.
Ground Floor Plan
The concept was based on a children’s bedroom. A space where children can play but also relax. To stay inside the budget, the furniture was changed, walls were painted and the current wood oor was kept. The bookshelves of the old bookmobile were very tall, blocking natural light from the windows and also making it hard for the reach of children. The application of shorter cubic shelves was for children to grab books much easier. The new furniture was selected with a dynamic and fun background.

Residential
Location: Valle de Guadalupe, Mexico Year: 2014 | 10th Semester Softwares Used: AutoCAD, Sketchup, Vray & Photoshop
The main idea behind the design was to create a unique living space with a single piece of oating roof over it to respond to the slope of the site. In the main volume, the roof has been established in an ascending system. Being in the common areas creates the illusion that one is on the exterior and not inside the house. The project consists of 3 volumes. The common areas are on the main volume and was designed based on the direction of the existing level curves, suspended 2m through metal columns. An exterior deck serves as a connection to the rest of the areas and an element to enjoy the view. The other volumes are intended for more privacy and relaxation, which are the bedrooms for the family and guests. These spaces are all at the same level, surrounding the pool area and a central garden of native plants.
