The project develops a concept, already defined by an external design studio, based on elements with frame and box shapes that interact between them. On these elements, self-supporting, was made a detailed technical study for the resolution of technical issues relating to the use of specific materials (metal and polycarbonate) and the connection between them. Special attention was paid to the improvement of technical features in order to reduce assembly time; the project involved also lighting design and wiring study in order to hide them.

Redevelop Piazza Scala means resolve the critical problem of the traffic that crosses it today, and that interrupts the relationship between the pedestrian space, continuation of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, the theater, and the galleries of Italy. Single paving stone slabs is repeated regularly over the entire surface of the square, emphasizing the unitary and establishing itself as a natural extension of the buildings that surround it. Free space, almost metaphysical, before the scale makes the most of the building, allowing you to observe the aesthetic beauty both day and night. During the night-life of the "square of light" that punctuates the vast area, through a square form of 150 cm, calling at the same time the volume of the new tower. The project is characterized by multiple elements in pavement, who have not a real footprint, are important to the life of the square. It constitutes the crossroads of the rich cultural journey from Milan, have been included, in certain positions, special paving slabs that serve as direct you to places of interest.

La Pedrera, historical restaurant located in the park Oglio Nord in Soncino, has undergone many changes; the project seeks to standardize a lost identity. The light becomes fundamental, by mobiles suspended lights, edit and create a new intimate and relaxed atmosphere . The division of space is given by small concrete block walls used like a shelving. The walls, covered in part by climbing plants and shrubs create a familiar and at the same they become binding with the surrounding environment. Creating furniture OSB, with mobiles wheels, it has allowed us to create a flexible space, suitable to accommodate different functions and experiences.

On the occasion of Fuorisalone 2014 installation exposes all the best products of Buzzi & Buzzi, suspended from a steel structure located within the scale. The temporary steel structure completely removable, becomes the trunk of the tree on which the branches become displays of products.

The context of Santa Giulia has several problems, mainly related to urbanity unfinished. The specificity of this area, the vastness and the recent construction, we do exclude a punctual intervention, because it would not be able to redevelop the entire area, at the same time consider inappropriate a widespread intervention on the existing. The project focuses on public space and spaces for common use, imagining them as hardware support for functions that can benefit of all the resources in this urban area. Our work is designed as an injection of concentrated urbanity that can infect diluting virally across the urban sector. The open space has a central role, it functions as a support to all functions in the area and as fertile ground for development, as a cytoplasm that binds all activities and makes possible the good functioning and relationships.

The Layer Lamps born obsessive research at all scales of architectural elements combined objects and furnishings. They are an example of transposition of an architectural object, the slats in multilayer cardboard copy the floors and their spacing want to describe levels with different heights and relationships between them. The structure of the lamps is in all its parts, the steel frame of a skyscraper, the vacuum inside the lamp diffuses the light, as the "core" of the building conveys the flow of people through systems of lifts (elevators and stairs ).

Studio Cardenas has been selected for Longquan International Biennale (LIB), where will be realized three projects: a pedestrian bridge, an enviormental house and an expositive building. LIB is the first bamboo's architectures biennale in China which will be held in Baoxi village, Zhejiang province. LIB is commissioned by Shanghai Art Spring Co. - edited by Prof. George Kunihiro and collect ten architects including Sook He Chun, Mauricio Cardenas, Anna Heringer, Kengo Kuma, George Kunihiro, Vo Tong Nghia, Keisuke Maeda, Madhura Prematilleke, Simon Velez e Li Xiaodong. The goal of LIB is design sustainable, innovative architectures as starting point for the development of bamboo's architectures. The inauguration is on May 2014. Special feature is the use for in all Studio Cardenas projects of a unique construction system of bamboo, steel joints and neoprene, the construction makes it possible to fully dry.

If in the general idea Milan is a city devoid of green, the overpass MonteCeneri is one example. An analysis of the esternal ring, show that the overpass is the only stretch of road with no natural greenery. The presence of an elevated structure, the size of the roadway, the dark spaces below the overpass turn in "dividing barrier" between the east and west of the district. The heavy traffic, which requires pedestrians at crossings odd, highlights the separator character. A first phase of the project "reconstructs" the two parts of the city by providing, according to a careful analysis of both the pedestrian flows / driveways both existing features, urban spaces equipped. The second part of the project involves the insertion of new noise barriers and the transformation of tree lined avenue avenue in Monteceneri so as to complete the "green ring" of the ring. "The green offers psychological comfort and relaxes, and the green in urban areas has beneficial effect on the welfare and productivity of people." (Ulrich, 1981)

There is, around the perimeter of the CitĂŠ Viesseux, a multiplicity of different urban situations, a diversified network infrastructure for vehicular mobility as for soft mobility and access points to various green resources and immediate value. The settlement strategy therefore aims to establish systems unit inside the compartment that can, on an urban scale, consolidate network design of public space and services and environmental infrastructure. At major driveways, remained essentially unchanged, it consolidates the public space of type "urban" with the system of access to community services; you choose to spread along these roads the presence of public functions, place on the ground floor of buildings, in order to generate a network that contributes to "city effect".

The project consolidates a central public that upgrading a broader scope than the physical on which it is placed. A central system that completes Corso Trieste, from the functional relevance of the Technological Pole, Enterprise Incubator and Research Centre, manages to integrate a public open system that includes the presence of the covered market, the new square and a new system of green. The building designed tends to distribute its own volume on the surface in a uniform and dense little, avoids concentrations and polarizations displacement in height, so as to enable a greater chance of a clearer setting typological and architectural composition. The formal device that best characterizes the building and what it is used for its harmonization with the market, is a cover drawn as a continuous succession of pitched roofs, which made integral with its planimetric development is able to expand beyond the border batch, melting the market coverage.

Medellin can be understood as a complex system for three centrality, both located at the ends of the axes that define the third river urban area, the city center, forming an extended longitudinal system. You need to create a system of small items such centrality nodes, generating a connection cross East / West. However, there must be a process of densification controlled for these urban spaces, with new activities that comply with the spaces in residence at high density, space through the regeneration of the existing nature and its relationship with the river. The creation of new infrastructure needs to be focused in the city built, protecting the little existing free open space, which should gain importance as a natural open and public. The park across the river course, connects the two banks, breaks the traditional model of the bridge, invites pedestrians and cyclists to travel on both banks of the river enjoying the continuity of the river park.

INTERNATIONAL WORKSHOP COCOA The invasive and infesting vegetation vehemently emerges from the soil of the tropical environment of the Cocoa, strongly colonizing the space between the buildings, balancing and acting on them, compromising their static equilibrium and their geometry. The skin of the pavilions, a lightweight fabric that metaphorically protects the precious contents of Cocoa products, opens and unfolds, letting at sight the internal structures. The trees, individually, in pairs or groups, as simple as poles o as complex as urban furniture systems, define functional areas, act as landmarks, support the different levels of light and orient visitors into the jungle-plateau.

The project is a warning to air pollution, particularly aimed at one of the most polluted cities in Europe: Milan and across the Po valley. It seeks to quantify the plant mass necessary in order to reduce emissions of CO2 and other pollutants produced by the city. The required amount of green is immense and you have on the only open area: the built area. On top of the buildings is an idealized volume for purifying the polluted air from the city below: a city that pollutes and a city that purifies. The share achieved by purifying math shows how air pollution is a phenomenon problematic for life and survival. Air pollution is the most serious and widespread in urban areas and comes from the exhaust emissions from industrial plants, by car exhaust and heating systems. Such substances, toxic to humans and animals with which they come in contact, especially if breathe, are tolerated by many plant species that protrude quite weakened. The absorb with their leaves and are able to metabolise inside them, transforming them into compounds useful to the plant nourishment. The air is re-emitted by the system leaves is then clean and perfectly breathable.
