MEET THE NEWEST SURGEONS AT MID-TENNESSEE BONE & JOINT
Since 1975, Mid-Tennessee Bone & Joint Clinic has provided top-ranked orthopedic care to the people of middle Tennessee and beyond. Each doctor emphasizes a subspecialty focus including sports medicine, hip and knee replacement, shoulder replacement, foot and ankle reconstruction, hand injuries, minimally invasive spine surgery, and interventional pain management. With eleven orthopedic surgeons plus an interventional pain management specialist, MTBJ provides high-quality comprehensive care for your family’s orthopedic needs.

MTBJ would like to introduce the community to the three newest fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeons: Dr. Christopher Loftis, Dr. Carson Strickland, and Dr. Zachary Pharr. Each brings with them a wealth of knowledge and showcases their specialty to provide exceptional orthopedic care to Maury County and surrounding areas.
Dr. Christopher Loftis joined MTBJ in August 2022 as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the shoulder and elbow with a special interest in arthroscopic shoulder surgery and shoulder replacement. He grew up in Nashville and earned his undergraduate degree in Biology from Harding University and was selected to the Alpha Chi Collegiate Honors Society. He received his medical degree from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine. His residency training was obtained at the University of Missouri Department of Orthopedic Surgery where he served as Chief Resident followed by a fellowship in shoulder and elbow surgery at the Texas Education and Research Foundation for Shoulder and Elbow Surgery. He helps provide team physician services to Marshall County schools.
In August 2022, Dr. Carson Strickland joined MTBJ as an orthopedic surgeon specializing in the foot and ankle with a focus on ankle replacement and ankle reconstruction. His undergraduate degrees in Biology and Psychology were obtained at the University of Georgia, and his medical degree from Mercer University School of Medicine, graduating in the top 1% of his class. He completed his orthopedic residency at UT-Campbell Clinic followed by an additional fellowship in foot and ankle surgery at the OrthoCarolina Foot and Ankle Institute in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Orthopedic surgeon Dr. Zachary Pharr joined MTBJ in July 2021 specializing in sports medicine with a focus on restoring active individuals with acute injuries through arthroscopic and minimally invasive techniques. As a Nashville native, he received his degree in Biology from Lipscomb University. His medical degree was obtained from the University of Tennessee College of Medicine, graduating top of his class with Alpha Omega Alpha honors and being selected to the Gold Humanism Honor Society for compassionate care. He completed residency training at UT-Campbell Clinic where he served as Chief Resident followed by fellowship training at the American Sports Medicine Institute with Andrews Sports Medicine and Orthopaedic Center, where he served as a team physician for the University of Alabama 2020-2021 National Champion football team. He has treated athletes at all levels from youth to professional including the athletic programs of the University of Alabama, the University of Memphis, Memphis Redbirds, Birmingham Barons, and Memphis Grizzlies. He currently provides team physician coverage for multiple schools at the high school and college levels.

Additionally, Mid-Tennessee Bone & Joint offers onsite MRI and CT scan services, an outpatient surgery center, OrthoQuick, and a Physical Therapy department. OrthoQuick is MTBJ’s walk-in service that specializes in treating acute injuries such as sprains, strains, and fractures and accepts walk-ins daily.
