What would you say to two high school sweethearts, madly in love their senior year in high school, who decided to pack up the girl’s 1988 Chevy S10 manual transmission, single cab, vinyl seat pick up, and run away? Oh, did I mention they had about $40 and some of the high school girl’s belongings?

This is how my wife, Andrea, and my story started living out of her truck, trying to figure out how to make it in this life! Fast forward 34 years later … Babe Ruth once said, "It's hard to beat a person who never gives up.”

I planted a church, Springs of Life Church, in the town we used to live in during the historic recession. This church was planted to bring hope and encouragement during a time when it was much needed, which is still running today. I also have a non-profit organization called Better Together Disaster Relief. This organization is designed to stir up love and good works in life's storms. We know there are natural storms, but there are also other storms that occur in families, so we want to be there for all storms.

I have been in the real estate industry since 2004. I have seen good markets and not-so-good markets. I have walked alongside clients through the best of times and also helped them through foreclosures and short sales. My mom once told me to "plug your nose and jump in the water" — what this means to me is, you don't walk away from clients or friends even when it gets tough — you tell them what they need to be told even when it's hard.

This led me from being a realtor for 14 years to stepping into the mortgage industry, to now managing my branch here in beautiful Middle Tennessee. I have been able to do home loans for others, when they have been turned down, not because I am better, I just don’t give up, and finding programs that may not be available to that particular loan officer. One reason I can do this is because I am a mortgage broker and I am able to shop for more loans, which is a great asset for investors too! Another asset for my clients is I went through Ramsey Solution's Financial Coach Training. With this training, not only am I able to originate loans, but I am able to guide you to becoming financially free!
