Dear Students, WELCOME to our new American curriculum college in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. We believe that our students will benefit greatly from the small classes that afford individual attention and the blend of teaching and learning methods used by our outstanding faculty. The College is founded on the belief that every student will have the freedom to choose their own path to the future with the careful guidance of our faculty and counselors. We further believe that success in the 21st century requires not just a good career preparation, but even more importantly, a broad higher education background including the arts, sciences, social sciences and personal development. With this solid academic preparation, our students will be highly sought after for admission as third year students at highly rated universities in the United States, as well as in other countries. Our curriculum is patterned after the first two years of general education requirements of American universities. In addition to our exciting curriculum, we believe the College experience must also include a rich student life program outside of the classroom. This includes student clubs and activities, cultural events, music performance groups, recreation, exchanges with colleges in the United States as well as, food services and housing options catering to diverse cultures and dietary restrictions. Students will make many new friendships that will last a lifetime from America and across the Gulf region. We look forward to the opportunity to share more information with you. The Best Featre Of the IHC Model The IHC academic model is based on the degree of Associate of Arts that is a very common pathway to Bachelor’s degrees for students in the U.S. universities. American universities divide their four-year college degree programs into two segments: Years 1 and 2 are for general liberal arts education and Years 3 and 4 are for the major field of study concentration. The IHC curriculum contains all of the General Education breadth requirements of the first two years of university and many of the pre-major courses as well. Graduates of !HC will be admitted to top U.S. universities in Junior Year standing according to selected major courses of study.

There are many social considerations when graduating from high school and selecting a college to attend. Many families today believe that it is in the best interest of their son or daughter to attend a campus not far beyond their community. Living at a great distance from parents remains uncommon in most societies of the world. The cultural adjustment of relocating to the U.S. causes many students and their family great distress and concern. Social maturity is another factor and often students between 1719 years are not yet certain of their college and career goals. Attendance at a college in their home region gives students an opportunity to explore their options in a familiar environment and remain close to family for support and guidance.

With regard to cost, there is no doubt that a U.S. higher education is very expensive for most families around the world. The more selective the university, the higher the cost. Tuition alone at highly selective U.S. universities is $50,000 or more (not including books, insurance, clothing, recreation, housing and travel). The IHC model provides the same quality instruction in the first two years of university at a fraction of the cost to the family, plus the safety, security and individual attention of a high quality small college environment.

The IHC Curriculum A student at IHC receives the highest quality education equaling the course work and requirements of the first two years of accredited American colleges and universities. The students in Dubai will adhere to the American curriculum and earn the required 60 credits. Students will be qualified to pursue degrees in wide range of academic fields from business to the social and behavioral sciences. American faculty, both in Dubai and in the U.S., will engage students in a global classroom environment. Students will learn in a highly collaborative environment with cutting edge technology, often exceeding the technology experienced in U.S. universities. They will develop the critical analysis skills so very important to succeeding in a U.S. university environment.
