We are Unified

Going beyond our professional capacities, we are also acutely aware of the roles we need to play as responsible global citizens. To that, we encourage our people to offer their time and services to support worthy causes such as natural disaster relief missions. We also actively offer our services to leading non-profit organisations such as Kiva and Unifem.

Edgilis Foundation In line with our vision of targeting growth markets and developing local talent, the Edgilis Foundation gives back a percentage of our annual profits to aid developing countries in building infrastructure for a more sustainable future. We invite non-government and non-profit organizations to join our inaugural Edgilis Foundation competition to resolve pressing waste management issues in developing countries. As a natural extension of our corporate vision, we invite non-profit and private organizations to join our entrepreneurship programmes to guide budding startups in developing economies.

Northeast Asia Hong Kong, China, Korea, Mongolia and Taiwan

International Network Global Insights Our ability to assemble project teams and build partnerships to leverage the strength of the local markets while applying the best practices from global leaders is one of Edgilis’ strongest differentiating advantage. To date, our insights and strategies have opened new opportunities for our clients in more than 15 countries.

As the top destination for foreign direct investment, China is also becoming a key player in foreign markets, emulating the success of Korea and Japan in Africa and the Middle East. This represents a great opportunity to add “western” expertise in the management of turnkey projects with the competitiveness of Chinese manufacturing. While Hong Kong, China and Taiwan are heavily investing in infrastructure (particularly in rail) to support their rapid urbanisation, there is now an increased focus on improving quality of life and reducing environmental impact. Prior to adopting green business practices, owners and operators will require a thorough understanding of the economics and engineering of the available environmental solutions. “The contracting business is a constant balancing act between risks and opportunities, especially in these financially unstable markets. While we take pride in our expertise in the rail and environmental markets, our true added value comes at times which can be defined as the ‘tipping points’ of EPC (Engineering Procurement and Construction) projects.” Keith Arnott, Senior Consultant in Contracts and Claims, was in China to build a case for a multi-million claim in the rail sector.

Southeast Asia Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam

Middle East and North Africa Qatar, UAE, Oman, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Algeria The leading region in energy resources is experiencing rapid urbanisation and economic growth. This is putting pressure on existing infrastructure and increasing demand for investments in transportation, urban planning, water treatment and process improvements. Another major challenge that the region faces is its ability to safeguard the environment; be it to improve its resource management capabilities, increase energy efficiency or develop renewable energy sources.

Although the electronics and manufacturing sectors are suffering from a decline in external demand in consumer products and select commodities, the region has significant needs in infrastructure development. In order to finance and maintain these massive projects, countries will have to adopt best practices in public-private partnerships (PPP), project management and contract management. More opportunities in rail, infrastructure and energy sectors will emerge if clients and contractors can manage their interfaces efficiently with a focus on commercial opportunities rather than regulatory dead ends. With Singapore leading the way, the region is investing more than ever in the service industry. The country’s efforts to enforce intellectual property rights, invest in R&D and create communities in the fields of biotechnology, research, aeronautics and IT make it the ideal entry hub to the region, and perfect homebase for Edgilis.

“We know how to help our customers make sound decisions in a complex commercial environment. Our experience here has prepared us for multiple outcome scenarios; making us the ideal partner in the critical moments of project delivery. The best way to start building our name in the region is to simply deliver cutting edge technologies and apply proven processes and methodologies.”

“While investors are encouraged by improved corporate governance, they may still need help to overcome regulatory inconsistencies in highopportunity markets such as Malaysia, Thailand, Indonesia and Vietnam. Edgilis conducts macroeconomic studies on key markets to help our clients build technology-specific strategies while identifying main stakeholders in rapidly growing markets. In the region, investing in the people means investing in technology too. We facilitate this with either an on-job training approach or by setting up the organisational framework for performance.”

Best Practices for Optimum Opportunities From vision to execution, Edgilis seizes opportunities at all levels. Once a strategy has been determined and best-practice processes have been set up, our innovation agents will then take on the task of achieving the deliverables; relishing the challenge of meeting tight deadlines, managing fixed budgets, and navigating difficult political environments on a day-to-day basis.

Management & Innovation Challenging times separate yesterday’s leaders from tomorrow’s. While the former chooses to retract the development of new products and services, the latter sees growth opportunities in a changing marketplace. Our management consultancy practice focuses on maximising opportunities by applying best practices in Change Management, Supply Chain Management, Active Innovation Management, Knowledge Management, Operational Excellence, HR Consulting and Market Research and Intelligence. Our management consultancy practice also works closely with our Opportunity Consulting activity which serves as an incubator for technology startups in Singapore.

Providing a broad range of expertise, each of our core service area is spearheaded by a Centre of Excellence to aggregate best practices and gather the right talent mix to propel your business to greater levels.

Safety & Reliability As Singapore’s leading provider of System Assurance services, Edgilis applies tested methodologies to ensure the safety of your systems. In the areas of safety and reliability engineering, our track record covers various industries including rail, energy, utilities, and infrastructure. The services we provide include Software Assurance, Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety (RAMS), as well as Electromechanical Compatibility (EMC) studies.

System Engineering Providing extensive system engineering support in rail, finance, electronics, and infrastructure projects, Edgilis has developed substantial capacity and internal best practices in Requirements Engineering, Systems Design and Systems Integration. This enables us to apply our methods to critical systems that demand high integrity. To ensure that a system is fit for its purpose, our team will perform an in-depth analysis of the projected system’s operations and user experiences. The complexity of these systems means a project can spin easily out of control and suffer considerable delays or budget overspends. By working closely with our project management centre of excellence, we effectively manage such risks to a minimum.
