Who said you can’t have Perfection? Your clients ask for perfect hair. That sleek, smooth, sensuous look that defines confidence. But perfect hair always came with risk. Until now.
1) The Perfection SmoothOut service begins with a client consultation. During the consultation you will want to establish the texture and condition of the hair.
2) The hair is shampooed two times using Perfection Smoothing SulfateFree Shampoo. This cleanses the hair in preparation for the Perfection SmoothOut service.
3) Upon the second rinse the hair is thoroughly towel dried. Comb and part the hair into 4-6 sections securing each with a clip.
4) Place approximately 1-2 ounces, depending on hair length, of the Perfection SmoothOut Solution into a mixing bowl.
5) Using a bowl and brush application method, begin by taking 1/4 inch partings and apply the SmoothOut Solution to the hair from the scalp out to the ends.
6)Once the Perfection SmoothOut™ Solution has been applied to all sections and partings, set a timer and process for 15 minutes. After the hair has processed, comb the hair straight and smooth.

Q: How long will the Perfection SmoothOut service last? A: Results will last 8-12 weeks with the hair gradually returning to its natural “textural memory” state. Use of Perfection sulfate, salt and paraben-free Smoothing Shampoo and Conditioner maximizes the longevity of the service. Q: What is the active ingredient that allows Perfection SmoothOut to texturally transform hair without the use of formaldehyde or formaldehyde substitutes? A: Perfection employs our nano amino acid complex, which is comprised of amino acids, a heat protective polymer and a reducing catalyst that is activated with heat to allow the solution to penetrate the hair fiber and to suspend the hair’s “textural memory”. There is no need for formaldehyde or a formaldehyde substitute to bind keratin to the hair, as there is no keratin in the Perfection SmoothOut formula. Q: Will I experience any odor with Perfection SmoothOut? A: The Perfection SmoothOut Solution contains amino acids that are heated during the service which produce a mild odor. If hair is absorbent or in instances when too much solution has been applied, the hair may temporarily retain this aroma. However, any residual odor can be eliminated within 2-3 shampoos following the service. Q: Can Perfection be used on African-American or ethnic hair types with stronger curl? A: Perfection can be used on all hair types and conditions including African-American and other ethnic-type hair. Perfection will reduce curl significantly with the initial service. However, in most cases, a second application will eliminate the remaining curl. Q: Can Perfection SmoothOut be performed on hair that has been treated with a thio-based, sodium or calcium hydroxide relaxer? A: Perfection SmoothOut is so gentle to the hair it can be performed safely over hair previously treated with a thio, keratin/formaldehyde, sodium or calcium hydroxide relaxer or smoother. Q: Must the flat iron be set to 360 degrees for Perfection SmoothOut? What if my iron is 400 or 450 degrees? A: 360 degrees is the optimal temperature setting to flat iron process the Perfection SmoothOut service. Higher temperature settings can be used but subjects hair to unnecessary damage and potential color loss. If you do experience color loss you can immediately refresh the color following the Perfection SmoothOut service. When coloring, it’s always advisable to color after the Perfection SmoothOut service. Tip: Comb the hair periodically to remove any tangles and to achieve a smooth, straight surface. (It’s important to see that the hair is dampened by the Perfection SmoothOut™ Solution and fully saturated but not overly saturated.)
7) Use a hand-held blow dryer and brush to remove most of the moisture, keeping a smooth and straight finish. Remove about 95% of the moisture to where the hair is dry to the touch.
9) While the hair will now be smooth and straight, it may exhibit a slight residue. At this point the actual service is complete. However, if the client wants to leave the salon with an absolutely finished look and feel, allow the hair to cool for 15 minutes. Shampoo the hair one time using Perfection Smoothing Sulfate-Free Shampoo. Dry and finish as desired.
8) When the hair is almost dry, turn on your flat iron and set the temperature to 360 degrees Fahrenheit. Before ironing, check to see that the hair is dry enough so that when the flat iron is placed on the hair it steams but doesn’t sizzle. Taking ¼” partings, iron the hair until steam stops being emitted and the hair has a smooth, shiny finish. This will typically take 5-7 passes with the iron on each parting.
