Selected work 2007-2011 Maxim Borshchevskiy

About I believe that an Architect must understand the relationship between space, form and function of the building. My initial goal is to obtain enough experience through professional practice to become a good architect. I want to use my knowledge of architecture to create well planed spaces and hopefully, aesthetically pleasing structures. I am currently studying at Taliesin, The Frank Lloyd Wright School of Architecture and I am in my second and final year pursuing my master of architecture.

Olympic Museum in Athens 2010 Project details: -Building geometry juxtaposes the axial alignments with surrounding monuments, and bends and undulates to frame important landmarks and views. -The design of the building is leaner, stronger, and more "athletic," it pushes the limits of building construction. -The resultant "Exoskeleton" framework provides the structure of the building, thereby freeing up interior large open spaces.

Winter Olympics Gallery

Level one plan

-Terraces on the second level open up the gallery space that provide visual connections to the square below and, more dramatically, framed views of the Acropolis, Zappeion, and Temple of Zeus.

Atrium Terrace Restaurant Temporary exhibit Audiovisual

-In the museum, visitors walk through the six galleries in chronological order, beginning with the Ancient gallery and proceeding on to the Modern wing and exiting through the shop.

Ancient Olympics Interactive area

-The building collects rainwater, which is reused in the pools, and has solar collectors on all south faces to provide shade and produce electricity to run the building.

Level Two plan

-The exoskeleton structure is a series of rigid frames leaning into one another and tied together. -Seismic factors are mitigated by the use of two expansion joints. -The Athens Olympic Museum emulates the Agora and Stoa, recognizes the established neighboring monuments, and becomes a definitive Icon to the Olympic spirit, Greece, and the World.
