THE RIVER? The Jukskei river runs directly through ‘Makers Valley’ However it is not a viable source of water due to excessive pollution (E-COLI 1.5 Million per 100ml)
Makers Valley
HOW TO SOLVE Certain steps must be taken if the community were to use the Jukskei river as a water source. It will require the aid of the community and their willingness to take on this restoration project. The river pollution must not rise or continue to increase before the community can remove the current pollution. There are solutions such as non-flushable compost toilets to redirect the human waste - this was the main focus of the project-

The river runs directly through the settlement where there are huge issues with waste disposal (human waste) due to the lack of water and lack of infrastructure causing the river to become polluted. Our group proprosed an initiative to clean up the river so this water source can become useful.
