Exile

Page 1

Raised in isolation, the children of Sunderland face an all-consuming choice. They can attend school to learn the teachings of The Angel, an extraterrestrial being that arrived in Sunderland 10 years ago, and "Evolve" like their parents who were turned into mindless zombies, or they can fall; living their lives in the wasteland at the edge of the community where their small rebellions are tolerated as long as they remain within the confines of Sunderland. Like some of the other children David has already decided to fall when the time comes, but he has his own reasons. The Angel killed David's mother.

Press Quotes: • “…undeniably original and thought provoking science-fiction horror.” – LA Horror • “ It truly is a cinematic gem that needs to be in any film collector’s collection.” – Horror Society • “the first thing I did when the end credits rolled was call three horror-appreciating friends to spread the word.” – Movie Hole • “It’s a stunning piece of work.” – Atlanta Retro • “It looks absolutely amazing.” – Cult Film Critics • ‘Rarely do you see small, indie horror films look, sound and feel this good.” – LA Horror • “Blau and Petke have made a thoughtful and dynamic film that also manages to push the boundaries of extreme horror.” – LA Horror • ““The Sunderland Experiment,” a gruesome and thought provoking horror flick from Blatke Productions that was incredibly effective in all the best ways. I’m making a prediction: “The Sunderland Experiment” will be very well received by fans of creepy, undeniably original and thought provoking science-fiction horror. This film was such a delightful surprise.” – LA Horror • “What I liked most about this movie was the fact that it didn’t fall into the trap of needing to feel like the “typical” horror movie. It didn’t relegate itself to senseless nudity and sexed-up co-eds. Nor did it feel the need to have innards falling out, and buckets of blood. While there is blood, this isn’t a gory movie. It’s tastefully and meaningfully done.” – Movie Hole • “The Sunderland Experiment, like the best horror cinema, takes a relatively simple story (in this case, the tale of a reclusive cult somewhere in the Southwest) and spins it into a riveting film through superb use of implication, solid acting performances, and a haunting atmosphere of isolation and perversion.” – Ravenous Monster
