Ab inintio Configuring the GDE 1. On the GDE menu bar, choose Run > Settings. The Run Settings dialog appears. 2. Select Use Host Settings Directory if it is not already selected. 3. Click Edit to open the Host Settings dialog. 4. In the Connection area of the Host Settings dialog, select a connection method from the Method list. 5. If you're connecting to a remote Unix host, fill in the Host, Login, and Password boxes. If you don't specify a password now, you'll be prompted later. 6. Fill in the Host Directory box. 7. In the Shell area, click the Type arrow and select the type of Shell your login uses on the host. 8. Click Test Login to test the connection. When a dialog asks if you want to create the directory, click Yes. The Test Run Settings dialog appears. 9. If the run settings are verified, click OK three times: 1. To close the Test Run Settings dialog 2. To close and save your changes in the Host Settings dialog 3. To close and save your changes in the Run Settings dialog If Test Login fails, click Details for an error message to explain the problem. For example, if the Co>Operating System is installed in a nonstandard location on the host, enter the correct Location in the Co>Operating System area of the Host Settings dialog.
