KUBI Dry Glove Systems

KUBI Dry Gloves & Expedition Equipment were designed and developed by Peter Kubicka, a highly respected, knowledgeable & experienced cave dive, instructor and founder of KUBI.

Peter has always focused on quality, detail & functionality as well as the usefulness of all products he develops.

KUBI products are high quality, made for the Technical Diving market and are extremely popular with divers & drysuit manufacturers around the world. This range guide is intended to assist your understanding of our products, along with their use & application.

KUBI Dry Gloves System Size* - Important information please read:

The KUBI Dry Glove Systems are available in four KUBI systems sizes. It is important to understand the system size to ensure you have the correct product and/or accessories.

The KUBI system size is the internal diameter of the smallest aluminium ring your hand will pass through. This is the alu ring on the glove side of the KUBI System (not the cuff side).

This will have a internal diameter of 70, 80, 90 or 100mm & is defined as the KUBI system size.

KUBI Dry Gloves are available in two different systems.

KUBI Standard System

The Standard System is designed to fit directly to your existing drysuit latex or silicone cuff seals, via an o-ring system. This means you can fix our dry glove system to your drysuit yourself and it can be used on any drysuit that has latex or silcone cuff seals (or even zip seals)

The Standard System is available in four system sizes* (70, 80, 90 & 100mm) with five outer glove sizes (S, M, L, XL & XXL) and are supplied as a complete set.

KUBI Fitted System

The Fitted System is designed specifically for Drysuit Manufacturers. These would then be glued/fitted in to a drysuit, during manufacture or alteration. We strongly recommend this is done by your drysuit manufacturer or their nominated agent.

This system allows for an aesthetically pleasing system which enables the use of replaceable cuff seals.

This system is sold in 2 separate parts, as manufacturers require the ability to purchase these to support their specific inventory requirements:

l KUBI Fitted Cuff Side Only (example product code: KUBI-FIT90)

The Fitted System is available in four system sizes* (70, 80, 90 & 100mm).

l KUBI Glove Side Only Set (example product code: KUBI-GL90XL)

Please remember the system size is not the diameter of the Internal or External diameter of the aluminium rings as explained on the previous page.

Full Systems

The KUBI Standard range is designed to be fitted to the existing latex or silicone cuff seals of a drysuit.

The complete KUBI Standard system includes

l The KUBI ALU cuff and glove ring system.

l Pre-fitted standard 1.6mm latex outer gloves.

l A pair of standard thermal inner gloves.

l A KUBI branded carry bag.

The KUBI Standard range is available in four sizes: 70, 80, 90 and 100mm and a choice of latex outer glove sizes as shown below.

Will KUBI Drygloves work with my Drysuit?

If your drysuit has latex or silicone cuff seals, then you can simply fit yourself the KUBI Standard System. If you require a permanently installed system (KUBI Fitted System) discuss the alterations with your drysuit manufacturer.

If your drysuit currently has a permanently installed system already, this would have to be removed before using KUBI

If you are purchasing a new drysuit, consider discussing the (KUBI Fitted System) with your drysuit manufacturer.

KUBI Fitted Range

Fitted Cuff Side Only Sets

The KUBI Fitted Dry Glove System, is designed to be glued/fitted directly into the drysuit. We recommend this installation is carried out by the drysuit manufacturer.

This incorporates the simplicity of the KUBI standard system, but fitted directly to the suit.

The KUBI Fitted system is supplied as a Cuff side system and requires a glove side half system to create a full set (see next page).

Will KUBI Drygloves connect to Neoprene cuff seals?

The KUBI Standard Dry Glove System will not seal directly onto neoprene cuff seals.

There are two options available for the use of neoprene cuff seals & KUBI.

1: Consider asking your drysuit manufacturer to install the KUBI Fitted system.

2: Consider the use of a Latex Overseal (see video on our website)

The Glove Side only set is supplied with the KUBI aluminium rings pre-fitted with a pair of standard 1.6mm latex outer gloves, a pair of standard thermal inner gloves and a KUBI branded bag.

A Glove Side half set is required to accompany the Fitted Range cuff side set to create a full fitted system.

How can I check what size my KUBI System is?

KUBI Dry Glove Systems are are sized using the smallest aluminium ring, which your hand will fit through.

This is the alu ring on the GLOVE side.

Measure the inside diameter of the GLOVE side alu ring and it will be either 70, 80, 90 or 100mm internal diameter. This is the size of your KUBI Dry Glove System.

Replacement O-Ring Sets

KUBI Dry Glove systems do need regular checks like all diving equipment.

l Check all Alu rings are clear of dirt & debris.

l Check your O-rings are in suitable condition & replace them as required.

l Lubricate sealing O-rings lightly, to ensure ease of use as required.

l Replace KUBI Reflex labels if yours become damaged.

l Regularly check and replace all O-rings as required.

l Remember Black O-rings are holding parts in place and the Red O-rings are the seals.

Do KUBI Sealing O-Rings need any lubrication?

We provide info with all KUBI dry gloves and O-ring sets, advising that we recommend the careful lubrication of the sealing O-rings.

Especially when new O-rings are dry and not compressed, so this is when lubrication is specifically required to prevent them feeling tight.

Please check the inside of the Alu-ring (cuff side) to remove all dirt and debris before use.

We recommend the use of the Nark-OX oil we can provide, as this requires very little and will not affect the O-rings in anyway.

We do not recommend the use of silicon based lubricants, as this can be absorbed by O-rings, causing issues.
