“Siempre, cuando arriesgas, terminas ganando, porque creces y evolucionas en el proceso”.

Bárbara Mori está de regreso. Este 2021 nos ha traído de vuelta a la pantalla a la actriz méxico-uruguaya al menos con dos proyectos que han ocupado ya espacio en los medios. Estamos hablando de la película ‘Todo lo invisible’ y la serie de Claro Video ‘La Negociadora’, donde ella personifica a una encumbrada líder policiaca al mando de una célula antisecuestro y antiextorsión. Para ser precisos, tuvieron que pasar cinco años para que Mori volviera a involucrarse en proyectos televisivos y lo hace por la puerta grande. ‘La Negociadora’ es para ella un proyecto sumamente significativo, donde no sólo actuó, sino que también formó parte del equipo creativo. La serie fue dirigida por Juancho Cardona y producida por Manolo Cardona.

Por qué ‘La Negociadora’.

Atendiendo a la prensa en la conferencia previa al estreno de la serie, la actriz se pronunció acerca de qué la motivó a hacer este papel, tan distinto a lo que le hemos visto. “Realmente me gustó muchísimo, yo tengo una amistad muy muy querida con Juancho y con Manolo desde hace muchísimos años. Juancho me había platicado de este proyecto hace mucho tiempo.

El día que lo tuvo listo me mandó los guiones, los leí y no los podía dejar. Me parece que la trama está tan bien desarrollada por Raúl Prieto, por Rosa Clemente, por Connie Acosta (guionistas), por Juancho, que hicieron un trabajo impresionante de años con los guiones y se nota. Se nota en la trama de la historia, no te suelta y aparte, el personaje de Eugenia, me parece que tiene muchos contrastes y mucha profundidad.

A la hora de desarrollar el personaje, fue muy bonito meterle a Eugenia toda esta parte humana, ¿no? Hay mucha similitud entre mi historia y la de ella, en el sentido de que las dos tenemos un pasado que constantemente está haciéndose presente”.

Para la grabación de ‘La Negociadora’, Mori y el resto del elenco, tuvieron que realizar entrenamiento físico. Incluso junto a la también actriz Marcela Girado, Mori desarrolló una secuencia donde se da un enfrentamiento fuerte, así que los ensayos exhaustivos fueron inevitables.

‘Todo lo invisible’

Bárbara Mori forma parte también del elenco estelar de la película ‘Todo lo invisible’, en la que también actúan Ari Brickman, José María de Tavira y Daniela Schimdt. La cinta es un drama que sucede a partir de que Jonás (Brickman) sufre una ceguera repentina. La vulnerabilidad que su condición le ha traído llega a entrometerse en la relación que tiene con Amanda (Mori), su pareja. Amanda es una esposa que acompaña, comprensiva y presente, pero con un pasado que cambia la historia.

No dudamos que a la postre, la relevancia de ambos proyectos significará que no tendremos que pasar nuevamente hasta cinco años para ver nuevamente a Bárbara Mori haciendo lo propio.

Barbara Mori is back. This year, 2021, has seen the return of the MexicanUruguayan actress on our screens with at least two projects that have already made waves in the media. We are talking about the movie Todo lo invisible [All Things Invisible] and the Claro Video series La Negotiator [The Negotiator], where she plays a high-ranking police chief in command of an anti-kidnapping and antiextortion cell.

To put a finer point on it, it took five years for Mori to become involved in television projects again, and she does so through the front door. La Negociadora is an extremely significant project for her, which she not only acted in, but was also part of the creative team. The series was directed by Juancho Cardona and produced by Manolo Cardona.

Why La Negociadora?

During a press conference prior to the premiere of the series, the actress spoke about what motivated her to play this role that is so different from what we have seen from her before. “I really liked it a lot, I’ve had a very, very dear friendship with Juancho and Manolo for many years. Juancho had told me about this project a long time ago.

As soon as he had it ready, he sent me the script, I read it and I couldn’t put it down. For me, the plot is so well developed by Raúl Prieto, Rosa Clemente, Connie Acosta (screenwriters) and Juancho, they did an impressive job with the script that took them years, and it shows. You can see it in the plot line which keeps you hooked, as well as the character of Eugenia, who has so many contrasts and depth.

When it came to developing the character, it was lovely to be able to show the human touch, don’t you think? There is a big similarity between my story and hers, in the sense that we both have a past that is constantly making itself present.”

For the recording of La Negotiator, Mori and the rest of the cast had to undergo physical training. Along with fellow actress Marcela Girado, Mori had to deal with intense fight scenes, which meant that rehearsals were inevitably exhausting.

Todo lo invisible

Bárbara Mori is also part of the stellar cast of the film ‘Todo lo invisible’, in which Ari Brickman, José María de Tavira and Daniela Schimdt also star. The film is a drama that takes place after Jonah (Brickman) suddenly becomes blind. The vulnerability brought by this condition affects the relationship he has with his partner, Amanda (Mori). Amanda is an understanding and attentive companion, but one with a past that affects the story.

We have no doubt that the relevance of both projects will mean we will not have to spend another five years until we see Bárbara Mori again doing what she does best.
