SOCIO-CULTURAL CENTER Vasant Kunj, New Delhi

PROJECT DESCRIPTION Social centers (or social centres) are community spaces. They are buildings which are used for a range of disparate activities, which can be linked only by being not-for-profit. The services are determined by both the needs of the community in which the social center is based and the skills which the participants have to offer. Also known as a free space, social centers may be designated "safe-space" where specific forms of dialogue and activism are encouraged and protected from harassment, or they may be intended to serve as open space for community interaction among widely disparate groups without censorship.

- - The main objective was to create a public center for social activities in neighborhood consist off our four main section Youth, Hospitality, school and public paces. The aim is to make a suitable Eco-friendly building with outstanding design and excessive use of green on contour, that ts the old fabric of the old city of damascus and be a unique modern eye-catching blocks using exibility in for movement in block.

- The design is meant to cover the needs of people in the neighborhood for a convenient place to spend a good time, which leads to the importance of making the building Eco-friendly and maintain a healthy atmosphere, especially for the youth in the society.

PERFORMING ART CENTER

The building manifests quality of movement and worship with an intricately wooden skin and sculptural volumes of space and water. The dematerialized envelope allows for modulated light to enter the building as its uid nature ows over the structure through a glass wall emphasized by the surrounding landscape. adjacent pools at the front of the building collects water owing along the structure contours surfaces providing an audible serenity to accompany the peaceful aura of the rest of the building. In the spirit of commemoration and timelessness, the cultural center is xable in program and is designed to be an openended venue for musical performances, exhibition and ofcial parties.

ADMINISTRATION & LIBRARY BLOCK

GUEST HOUSE CUM HOSTEL

Most youth desire to spend their time in a fast-paced, creative, and exible environment. The project’s form, a “C” shaped structure, serves as a distinct form enabling new spatial congurations. The use of this specic shape offers multiple connections between the inside and out. The three main wings of the building are equally spaced around the main green central core. Between the existing Heritage and the new constructed, exits a path the leads around the central plaza. In this space visitor can experience the new building facade by walking adjacent to it as well as through it at certain points. The experience of crossing through the Old Heritage threshold allow visitor to transition through space which seems to play with what is exterior or what is interior.

MIG Group Housing Bharthal Village, Sec-26 Dwarka, New Delhi

DESIGN DESCRIPTION - The main concept of housing is to provide a side ventilation and day lightning from each corner to the units. Creating a main void between the eight masses of the project that would allow for a good ventilation as well as maintain the wind speed. The eight masses are designed to be oriented on two tilted axis, the ď€ rst is to the north-east in order to obtain a maximum amount of indirect, non glare light. The second is based on the wind grid based on the analysis of the prevailing wind rose as to provide the spaces with the best possible ventilation. Evaluation: The concept of building allows people to access directly to the interior garden. more than that, everyone also has their own open-to-sky terraces with full ď€ lled shadow by taking advantages of sun, wind directions and open spaces, hence lighting access and ventilation to each dwelling are maximized.

DESIGN PROCESS

Primary School Design Sec-6 Dwarka, New Delhi

PROJECT DESCRIPTION - More than other building types, school facilities have a profound impact on their occupants and the functions of the building, namely teaching and learning. Children in various stages of development are stimulated by light, color, the scale of their surroundings, even the navigational aspects of their school. The school building that is attractive and responds to and is consistent with the design and context of the neighborhood, builds a sense of pride and ownership among students, teachers, and the community.

SUN PATH DIAGRAM

Ventilation passing through too many walls, breezes fail and not properly directed

Ventilation done successfully through narrow spaces and window placement.

The school is an academic facility which focuses their curriculum on nature and sustainability. The design honors this way of thinking and learning by creating a building deď€ ned by a series of bands that pleat and crisscross to merge with the surrounding topography.

SOUTH SIDE - VIEW The exterior complement the neighborhood and reect the community's values. The interior enhance the learning process. The class rooms are disposed around fairly loose ancillary spaces to encourage interaction among the students and teachers. Corridors become meeting points and entries could be open classrooms. A huge window puncture the classroom space streaming daylight for most of the part of curriculum hours, saving substantial share of dependency on artiď€ cial lighting.

INDIA-ORRISA

ORRISA-BHUVNESHWAR

BHUVNESHWAR-BINDUSAGAR LAKE

BINDUSAGAR LAKE-AREA PF STUDY AIM - The proposed study aims at Revitalization of the historic inner city area by adopting sustainable urban regeneration approach. Need of the Study - The city was evolved around the Lingaraj temple complex as the focal point with a combination of a concentric street pattern. The developments beyond these streets are on irregular pattern. The heritage & its glory makes it one of the prominent tourist destinations in the country. Majority of the tourists come to the city to visit the age old cultural heritages of the city. The old area of the city is facing now several crisis related to urban expansion, population growth, parking, encroachments by informal sectors, etc. The intense use & its distinct character of the old city, strengthens the need to work for the restructure and revitalisation strategy of the inner area of the old city. The Revitalization of city core is needed for : • Economic efciency (revitalization, including upgrading of the infrastructure will increase the value of the real estate) • Promotion of commerce, trade and tourism • Employment creation • Poverty reduction • Strengthening of civic and National pride

STREET SECTION and generate scope of revitalisation

The main issues in the core area are: The land value of the core area used to be more previously, but has come down due to encroachment leading to narrow roads. It is neither very easy nor very safe for pedestrians to move around in this area because of the high and chaotic state of trafc ow in this area. The whole of the core area has become fragmented into many pieces of land. Development of any area is possible only if the area is large and un fragmented. Slow traditional activities are currently being replaced by warehouses as the younger generation moves out to pursue speedier lucrative occupations that the contemporary city offers. The old town has gradually transformed into a dormitory town for the administrative capital.

Mehrauli Village, Bazaar Road, South West Delhi, New Delhi - Mehrauli, earlier known as Mihirawali, which means Home of Mihir, was founded by King Mihir Bhoja of the Gurjara-Pratihara Dynasty. - In the subsequent centuries the population of mehrauli expanded to spread across the area outside the wall of the fortification. - The arrival of several Sufi saints in the early thirteenth century added to the Islamic characters of the city. One of the saints Qutbuddin Bakhtiyar Khaki, properly known as Qutb Sahib, had a long lasting impact on Mehrauli. - The 19th century saw the growth of a thriving settlement to the west and south of the palace and the shrine. Houses were built on both sides of what was then the main road to the town of Gurgaon and is today the Mehrauli Bazaar. - The architecture visible on the both sides of the Bazaar streets and those leading off is rich displays a rich variety - form late Mughal havelis or courtyard homes with carved sandstone facades, to hybrid Western styles, and even Art Deco. - In time development took place on both sides of the road all the way down to the Hauz-e-Shamsi, forming what is today called Mehrauli Village.

- Mehrauli evolved as a commercial hub between the 10th century. The “Bazaar” became the lifetime settlement. Initially spine was not uniformly narrow later many open land was gradually taken up for built shops. The gradual development of the spine has resulted in the presence of the structure of many style and era. - It is still the commercial spine of 7000 odd inhabitants living in close proximity on either side of the spine. The historic fabric of the spine is under constant threats. The change in ownership, needs and perception of the inhabitants change in the use of structure resulting in their rebuilding which is also a serious threats.

URBAN LANDSCAPE TOWARDS PUBLIC HEALTH

Research Work

Human connection with place is a key factor in the struggle for a sustainable world. A good landscape design has the ability to reect a community's culture towards a city progress and values and compels people to engage with their everyday surroundings. Vibrant public spaces signify a vibrant community and will be maintained and conserved for years to come. The terms Urban Greenery, Green Space and Open Space all refer to urban design elements for green meant for recreation or improving a neighborhood's aesthetic appeal and used in this research paper— trees and other plants in parks, sidewalks or elsewhere; public plazas, schoolyards and playgrounds; and public lands covered with trees, shrubs and grass. In almost all instances, the space referred to by the term is, in fact, green space. However, there are examples of urban green space which, though not publicly owned/regulated, are still considered urban open space.

To analyze How Urban Green Space inuence the City ; Greenscapes; To puts the resources on architecture in the services of the public interest. Identity and practical problems of human interaction in the built environment and act as catalyst for public discourse through education. The aim of this study is to investigate the strength of the relation between the amount of green space in people's living environments and perceived general health.
