Culinary Italy from Sorrento to Rome DAY 5 Capri: The island of Capri is an area of breathtaking beauty with olive trees, grapevines and flowers providing a Mediterranean charm. Today’s excursion begins with a short drive to the harbor in Sorrento to board the hydrofoil. Traverse the pristine water, in various shades of blue and emerald green, as you approach the picturesque island. You’ll have time to explore Capri, and travel via mini-van to Anacapri, the highest town on the island. Wander through the town and absorb the local atmosphere and beautiful surroundings. Sample some local favorites during the included gelato-making demonstration and taste some of the unique flavors. Then quench your curiosity about another speciality, Limoncello, with a tasting of this regional favorite. Meal: B

DAY 6 Amalfi Coast: Discover Amalfi’s stunning coastline with miles of hairpin turns offering spectacular vistas. See rocks plunging vertically into the sea; charming fishing villages with quaint harbors; houses nestled high in the rocky cliffs - all contrasting dramatically with the beautiful, twinkling, blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea far below. Upon arrival in Amalfi, enjoy free time for lunch on your own, and to walk through the town, seeing its greatest attraction, the Duomo which dominates the central piazza. After experiencing Italy’s “coast with the most”, continue on to a local village where you’re in for a tasty treat as you ‘get your hands dirty’ while preparing dough during a pastry-

DAY 7 Paestum: Today’s adventure explores another of Italy’s most famous archaeological sites: the Greek Temple of Paestum, an ancient Greek colony, serenely situated and surrounded by fields and wildflowers. The entire site is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and among the best preserved monuments of Magna Graecia, the Greek colony that once covered much of southern Italy. In addition to its cultural heritage, the area is also famous as a producer of Buffalo Mozzarella Cheese. A stop is made at a local venue where you see how the cheese is made and sample the final product. Meal: B DAY 8 Agropoli: Depart for the historic city of Agropoli, one of the most vibrant cities along the Cilento coast. After a bit of leisure time to stroll through the cobblestoned lanes, your culinary adventure begins. Attend an entertaining cooking class where your instructor teaches you how to prepare delicious Italian cuisine during this hands-on experience. DAY 9 Cilento area: Cultural immersion into local flavor continues with a visit to an olive mill. Walk amongst the peaceful grounds where the olive trees grow as a local expert explains the process of how the fruit is transformed into pure liquid gold. DAY 11 Rome: The historic monuments you’ve heard and read about come to life on your guided tour of the Eternal City. From Palatine Hill, one of the Seven Hills of Rome, see the Roman Forum 130 feet below, and the Circus Maximus. Visit the Coliseum, one of the greatest works of Roman architecture and engineering, and imagine what it was like in its heyday when gladiators fought to the death. As you walk through the Roman Forum, you will be strolling amongst historic ruins of political buildings, shrines, temples and monuments, some dating back to the first kings of Rome. After a morning of historic discovery, enjoy an afternoon and evening at leisure. Meal: B DAY 12 Vatican Museums and Sistine Chapel: This

morning, enjoy a guided visit to the spiritual center of the Roman Catholic Church and the smallest independent state in the world: Vatican City. During the guided visit of the Vatican Museums you’ll walk through halls containing some of the most priceless art treasure in the world. The

Blessed by the forces of nature, the Argentine, Brazilian and Paraguayan border share these spectacular falls. Where the Iguazú River meets the subtropical forest, you’ll find the most impressive waterfall, Garganta del Diablo (Devil’s Throat). Tanzania via the Isebania & Sirari border where your driver/guides will assist with immigration procedures. During the drive, a picnic lunch will take place. The world famous Serengeti National Park covers an area of 5700 square miles, is Tanzania's oldest park, and one of the world's last great wildlife refuges. The Serengeti ecosystem supports the greatest remaining concentration of plains game in Africa, including more than 2,500 lions and over one million wildebeests. Walk between these rock formations into Walpa Gorge as your driver/guide explains the significance of this sacred ceremonial site.

After another incredible experience in the Uluru-Kata Tjuta National Park, return to the hotel for an afternoon at leisure. Health and Walking on Tour Some sites visited have limited motorcoach access and may involve considerable walking, stairs or inclines. Travelers should be in reasonably good health. Some programs include destinations in higher elevations that may have varying effects on individual travelers. Tour Managers and Coach Drivers cannot lift or assist travelers into transportation vehicles. Mayflower Cruises & Tours requires that persons requiring assistance be accompanied by a companion who is capable of and totally responsible for providing the assistance. Revision Fees A fee of $25 per person per transaction will be charged for any changes, revisions or alterations made to your reservation after confirmation. Luggage Handling The tour cost includes porterage for one average size suitcase. A charge of $5.00 per hotel will be collected by the Tour Manager for each additional piece of luggage that you bring. Travel Documents Your travel documents will be in your possession approximately 14 days prior to departure. Documents include tour itinerary, departure and arrival information and times, hotel information, clothing suggestions, baggage tags, plus any helpful hints. Mayflower Money, First Time Traveler and Referral Rewards Every day you are on tour, you'll earn travel credits for future travel (Mayflower Money) with Mayflower Cruises & Tours. The more you travel the more you save.

Available at the request of individual tour members, the savings can be combined with other offers at the time of your reservation. Here is how it works – refer a friend that is NEW to Mayflower Cruises & Tours and you will earn up to a $100 Travel Gift Card when your friend makes a reservation and pays the deposit on a tour that is 5 days or longer. Be aware that the Americans with Disabilities Act is applicable only within the United States and that accommodations for disabled travelers outside the United States may be more limited. Passport & Visas Each U.S. citizen must have a valid passport. Expiration date of passport should be at least six months after the return date of the tour. If you don’t have a passport, call our office and we’ll tell you how to apply for one. Some countries require visas for entry by U.S. citizens. We will send instructions for visa applications if a visa is required for your tour. Holders of non-U.S. passports should contact their nearest consulate and inquire about the necessary passport or visa documentation required for entry into the countries visited. Visa fees and cost of obtaining a visa are not included in the tour price and is the responsibility of the traveler.

Medical Requirements Many countries have immunization requirements. Some countries require foreign visitors to have valid medical insurance on entry. Requirements vary by country and can change. Please check with your travel professional or call our office for details on which tours need these requirements. Specific instructions will be sent to you at 90 days prior to departure if your tour requires these conditions. Mayflower Cruises & Tours cannot be liable for delay or denial of entry due to missing documents.

Tour Price Includes All motorcoach transportation noted in the tour itinerary, round trip airport transfers on the tour departure and return dates (only) if air is purchased through Mayflower, services of the Tour Manager and driver, lodging, sightseeing, taxes, admissions, gratuities for waiters at included meals, as well as Mayflower Money. Included meals are clearly noted in the touring description. Air transportation is available upon request, at additional cost for all tours.

Itinerary Changes There may be times when we may have to alter the scheduled itinerary, cruise vessels, hotels, shore excursions etc. due to weather conditions or conditions on the river in regards to water levels, locks, or other delays. Any changes in the itinerary due to these conditions will not result in eligibility for a refund. All itineraries are subject to change without prior notice and may need to be altered due to water level and other weather conditions.

What is Not Included on the Tour The land price of your tour does not include airfare to the tour departure point; any inter or intra-country air; airline luggage charges; items of a personal nature; meals not included on the itinerary; sightseeing attractions listed as “optional excursions” and gratuities to the full time Tour Manager, motorcoach driver, all airport skycaps, van or limo drivers, local guides. Transfers between airport and hotel are not included unless you purchase air from Mayflower and travel on tour dates. Baggage fees assessed by the airlines are not included in the air price if you purchased air from Mayflower Cruises & Tours. Our Travelers Protection Plan consists of a Cancellation Fee Waiver combined with Travel Insurance Benefits. Part A - Cancellation Fee Waiver (CFW) Should you have to cancel your tour or interrupt your tour enroute, we offer a non-refundable Travelers Protection Plan (TPP) in our deposit schedule.
