Business (Marketing) FIRST YEAR

Business (Marketing) is available as a standard subject (15 credits) or as a double subject (30 credits made up of two Business modules and additional modules in Accounting and Economics). 15 credits: Timetable Group 2 30 credits: Timetable Groups 2 and 6
Whichever option you choose, you can progress with Business (Marketing) within MH101 to any of the following:

Intention to transfer Normally if you intend transferring out of MH101 in second year to a BBS or BCL degree with Business you should select the 30-credit Business (Marketing) subject at online registration in September. Please check the transfer conditions in the right hand column for the credits required for individual programmes. Notes 1 30-credit option not suitable if you are planning to become a post-primary teacher of Business. 2 30-credit option not suitable for students who are taking the subjects Accounting or Economics/Finance in first year as some modules will be duplicated.
> Double major > Major with minor > Minor Transfer Options Single major BBS or BBA programmes To transfer you must: 1 Have passed all modules in the 30-credit Business (Marketing) option, or 2 Have passed both modules in the 15-credit Business (Marketing) option and passed Accounting and passed Economics/Finance.
BBS Business and Accounting To transfer you must:
3 Normally, you should only choose the 15-credit option (MN1KF15) if you intend remaining in MH101 in second year. It may still be possible to transfer from MH101 with just 15 credits (MN1KF15) depending on your other subjects. Please see transfer options in the right hand column.

Second semester amendment If you have initially selected the 15-credit option, and you particularly like Business (Marketing), it is permitted to register for an additional 7.5 credits of the extra Business option (an Economics module) at the beginning of the second semester. Progression options
2 Have a subject mark of at least 60% in the 30-credit Accounting subject in first year.
1 Have passed 30 credits of Law, and 2 Have passed 30 credits of Business.
