Unprecedented times call for actions that many of us are not commonly used to. However, our actions are essential to what the future of us, or people around us, may look like. Doing your part to keep everyone and yourself safe will go a long way. As of most recently, Governor Gavin Newsom announced the closure of San Bernardino County, and many others, to help reduce the risk of the spread and the number of COVID positive test results. Thus, fitness centers, places of worship, malls, and personal care services will be closed; effective immediately. Face coverings are also required in public by order of the California Department of Public Health. Please be sure you are staying safe and healthy. NEW: Updates from Gov. Gavin Newsom

SB County released an update regarding the state orders to close all indoor operations of additional sectors.

Responding to significant increases in positive test results, hospitalizations and ICU admissions, Gov. Gavin Newsom today announced further mandates to mitigate the spread of COVID-19. Details can be found on the State’s COVID-19 website.

The State has immediately expanded closures previously only required for counties on the state’s monitoring list to the entire state. These include indoor operations for dine-in restaurants, movie theaters, family entertainment centers, museums and cardrooms. Breweries, bars and pubs are required to close both indoor and outdoor operations entirely in every county. In addition, within the 31 counties on the state’s monitoring list – which include San Bernardino, Riverside and Los Angeles counties and represent approximately 80% of the state’s population – the State requires the closure ofindooroperations in sectors that tend to promote the mixing of populations which make adherence to social distancing and wearing face masks difficult. Businesses in these sectors that are unable to operate outdoors must close immediately under the State’s order. They include: •Gyms and fitness centers •Place of worship •Offices for non-critical sectors •Personal care services (e.g., nail salons, massage and tattoo facilities) •Hair salons and barber shops •Indoor malls

a day. Moreover, hospitalizations have increased 28% over the past 14 days and ICU admissions have jumped 39% over the same period. Overall, the state has had more than 320,000 COVID-19 cases and 7,000 deaths.

“Until we have a vaccine or effective therapy, we have no choice but to continue taking steps to mitigate the spread of the virus,” said Newsom. “Californians must adapt to new behaviors if we are to slow the spread.”

Disaster Loan Assistance Federal Disaster Loans for Businesses, Private Nonprofits, Homeowners, and Renters

Our nation's small businesses are facing an unprecedented economic disruption due to the Coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak. On Friday, March 27, 2020, the President signed into law the CARES Act, which contains $376 billion in relief for American workers and small businesses.

SBA provides low-interest disaster loans to businesses of all sizes, private nonprofit organizations, homeowners, and renters. SBA disaster loans can be used to repair or replace the following items damaged or destroyed in a declared disaster: real estate, personal property, machinery and equipment, and inventory and business assets. SBA works with a number of local partners to counsel, mentor, and train small businesses. The SBA has 68 District Offices, as well as the support provided by its Resource Partners, such as SCORE offices, Women’s Business Centers, Small Business Development Centers, and Veterans Business Outreach Centers. Parents—Apply for the Pandemic EBT (P-EBT)

Apply by TODAY (July 15th)

This program, called P-EBT, is for students who are normally able to get free or reduced-price school meals. Apply and get up to $365 per child to spend on groceries. Children may continue to receive "grab n go" meals or emergency food at COVID-19 emergency feeding sites offered by schools and community locations, even if they are receiving P-EBT benefits.

Dog park to be added to Frisbie Park expansion in Rialto

After the long awaited contract, construction has officially begun at Frisbee Park in efforts to build a dog park.

San Bernardino Sun covered the story by stating, “The Frisbie Park expansion, which is to include the development of approximately 8.5 acres of land within the existing 27.4-acre site at 598 E. Easton St., just south of the 210 Freeway, was originally expected to conclude late last year.” The idea was first introduced by Mayor Deborah Robertson in early 2019 and, soon after, broke ground last summer after being awarded $15 million to contract.

This park will serve locals and visitors and will be a great addition to the community. Frisbee parks expansion will be yet another accomplishment for the City of Rialto and we thank city leaders!

Mayor Deborah Roberstson’s Community Resource Center Soft Opening July 19th

This Sunday, July 18th, there will be a "soft" grand opening for the Mayor’s Community and Learning Center. This center will serve the community and residents as a resource to a number of helpful tools.

In preparation for this event, there will be temperature checks, hand sanitizer, masks, packaged meals and a plethora of space to use. Please, come out to celebrate with the Mayor, at a safe distance of course.
