The Master of Science in Human Resource Management program at Texas A&M University’s Mays Business School gives you the knowledge and skills to be an effective HR professional. ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITIES CENTER FOR HUMAN RESOURCE MANAGEMENT As a student in the MS-HRM program, you benefit from the program’s partnership with Mays Business School’s Center for Human Resource Management (CHRM) through learning opportunities and industry networking. Corporate partners of the center work with faculty and students on various research topics related to the field of HRM, allowing you to examine real-time situations faced by leading companies and to present your findings and solutions to these companies near the end of the semester. In addition to the real-world knowledge you gain from CHRM research, the contacts you will meet through the CHRM are invaluable. Biennial CHRM Partner Company meetings permit you to participate in large and small group topical discussions and networking events with industry professionals. Our CHRM partners are consistently a primary source for providing our students with internships and opportunities for full-time positions upon graduation.
CLASSROOM SPEAKER SERIES Each semester, our program hosts 15 - 20 HR leaders from various corporations as guest lecturers, allowing you to engage with prominent human resource professionals as they share real-world examples and emphasize practical application of theory. Commonly, these speakers bring their lessons to reality by offering practicums where you work through actual problems experienced by the company and learn from the decisions made. Additionally, as an HRM student, you participate in one CHRM board meeting, and two to three Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM) events each semester, which include HR executives as guest speakers. Through an open exchange, these speakers share their personal leadership philosophies and experiences that will influence the way you approach organizational and human resource management challenges.
