JICA'S GENDER AGENDA

Some noteworthy projects under JICA's gender initiatives include the Catalyzing Women Entrepreneur programme with selected women entrepreneurs from Malaysia held in July 2023. Another noble project includes livelihood improvement through women’s empowerment with digital technology in Pakistan. Additionally, JICA supports the protection, self-reliance, and social reintegration of survivors of sexual and gender-based violence in South Sudan.

JICA's gender parity initiatives are a beacon of hope and inspiration, guiding us towards a future where all individuals stand tall, united in their pursuit of dreams and aspirations. Let us march forward with JICA, championing the cause of gender equality and heralding a new era of limitless possibilities for everyone, everywhere.

WATASI JAPAN's Epic Journey of Hijabs, History, and Future

The chronicles of Ms. Junko NAWA's remarkable achievement in seven years. Motivated by motherhood and a desire to make a difference, she founded WATASI JAPAN, a company that not only produces modest wear but also uplifts women raising children. Inspired by her time in Kota Bharu, Malaysia, where hijabs were prevalent, she brilliantly fused Japan's Modest Fashion-Vintage kimono with contemporary designs-such as the cherished Kuro-tomesode (black ceremonial kimono), imbuing them with happiness and everlasting memories.
