Covid-19 Deaths in Turkey Rise To 356 People o 79 more people died of the coronavirus in Turkey in the past 24 hours, the Turkish health minister said on Thursday, bringing the death toll to 356. The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases surged to 18,135, as 2,456 more people tested positive for the virus in a day, Fahrettin Koca announced on Twitter. A total of 415 patients have recovered and been discharged from hospitals since the beginning of the outbreak, according to the announced data. (Turkish)

Turkish Presidency Warns of Data Security Over COVID-19 o The Turkish presidency warned Thursday about data security amid the global novel coronavirus pandemic. "This year, nearly 4,000 domain names related to the coronavirus have been purchased. Note that harmful websites can steal your information through the phishing technique," the Digital Transformation Office said on Twitter. (Turkish)

Inflation Numbers Announced o Inflation increased by 0.57% in March and reached to 11.86% on an annual basis. (Turkish)

Istanbul Ikitelli City Hospital will Open on 20th of April o Turkey's president on Thursday announced that the first phase of a hospital complex in Istanbul will start operating on April 20. (Turkish)

The Date When Coronavirus Treatment Starts in Turkey Is Revealed o Turkish Red Crescent Chairperson Kerem Kinik has announced that treatment of Covid-19 patients through homohemotherapy shall begin 10 days from now. (Turkish)

Health Reports of Chronic Patıents Expired After January 1st Shall Be Valid o Zehra Zumrut Selcuk, Family, Labour and Social Services Minister, has said health reports and prescriptions of chronic patients that expired on January 1st and afterwards shall be valid until a second announcement. Service Hours of Pharmacıes in Istanbul Change o Ali Yerlikaya, Istanbul Governor, has declared that pharmacies would serve at 09:00-18:00 on weekdays and Saturdays within the scope of the measures taken against the novel coronavirus. (Turkish)

French Government Announced A Special Travel Certificate o The government has heard the demands of the French. From Monday 6 April, a new travel certificate will be available. Citizens will be able to show it from their mobile phone. This project prevents people from completing the certificate only at the sight of a police check. And thanks to the QR code, the police will not need to pick up the phone but will just have to scan the screen. (French)

Biden Will Call Trump About Coronavirus, While Coronavirus Vaccine Trial Is on Target o Trump uses coronavirus briefing to unveil new military counternarcotics mission. "Today the United States is launching enhanced counternarcotics operations in the Western Hemisphere to protect the American people from the deadly scourge of illegal narcotics," Trump said. It also came on a day when the US registered the most deaths from the coronavirus in a single day, with at least 869 reported on Wednesday, bringing the total to 4,703. (English) o Only some medical supplies from overseas going directly to coronavirus hotspots. The rest will resupply the private market, where competition between states and the federal government has been a source of frustration for governors trying to shore up equipment to treat patients with coronavirus, according to multiple officials. (English) o White House advisor Fauci says coronavirus vaccine trial is on target and will be ‘ultimate game changer’. U.S. health officials have been fast-tracking work with biotech company Moderna to develop a vaccine to prevent COVID-19. They began their first human trials on a potential vaccine March 16. (English) o Biden campaign says it will arrange call with Trump about coronavirus. The potential steps toward a call come after Trump was asked about Biden's offer to speak with him at his daily coronavirus press briefing. "I would absolutely take his call," Trump said. England Aims 100,000 Coronavirus Tests A Day o The government is aiming to carry out 100,000 coronavirus tests a day in England by the end of April, Health Secretary Matt Hancock said, as he announced a "fivepillar" testing plan. Currently, there are around 10,000 tests being carried out a day. (English) o The number of confirmed coronavirus cases in the UK is on the rise, with nearly 34,000 now testing positive across the country. Nearly 3,000 people confirmed to have had the virus have died. About 130,000 people in the UK have so far been tested and found not to have the virus. (English)

Impact of Lockdown on Outbreak in China o Stringent controls in the first 50 days of the epidemic gave other cities across China valuable time to prepare and introduce their own measures, according to the paper by researchers in China, the United States and the United Kingdom. China's decision to lock down Wuhan may have prevented more than 700,000 new cases by delaying the spread of the virus, researchers said. (English)

(Russian) o Russia registered 601 new cases of coronavirus infection in 76 regions. In total, the country has 4,149 infected, 34 people died. (English) o The Russian economy has been rocked by the coronavirus outbreak, and the breakdown of the OPEC+ oil production pact between Russia and Saudi Arabia. (English)

Azerbaijan Imposes Restrictions Starting From 5 April o By April 5, Azerbaijan imposes restrictions on the movement of people. Restrictions will be monitored by police and permission will be given by contacting the e-government system. (Russian)

CEO Of Italian Tire Maker Pirelli: US Business Leaders Should Prepare Now for The Worst o "Considering that we are facing a very tough situation for many months. If we move in advance, we can cope with it and we can come out of it even stronger," said Marco Tronchetti Provera, who has led Pirelli since 1992. Bank Of England Doubles Size Of Corporate Bond Purchase Program o The Bank of England said on Thursday it will double the size of its corporate bond purchase program to at least 20 billion pounds ($24.7 billion), part of a previously announced stimulus package to help the economy during the coronavirus crisis.
