Death Toll Due to Coronavirus Increased To 425 o Fahrettin Koca, Minister of Health, has stated that 69 people lost their lives in the last 24 hours due to Covid-19, while total death toll is 425. Minister Koca also expressed that a scientist from the Science Board got coronavirus as well. (Turkish)

President Erdoğan Announced New Measures o President Tayyip Erdoğan has announced the new measures in the fight against coronavirus. Within the scope of measures, 31 cities were closed to vehicle entry – exit. Curfew has been applied to people below the age of 20 and wearing mask in public places became compulsory. (Turkish)

Abdi İbrahim Started Production of The Drug That Is Recommended For Covid-19 Treatment o Abdi İbrahim has realized the first party production of a drug that is observed to be providing positive result against new type coronavirus in the researches and delivered to the Ministry of Health. (Turkish)

New Cooperation From Sanofi In The Vaccine Against Covid-19 o David Loew, Director of Global Vaccines Business Unit at Sanofi, said “we believe that mRNA platform of Translate Bio, which has sufficient installed production capacity, will help us meeting the possible strong demand towards vaccine.” (Turkish)

Domestic Flights Are Suspended Until April 20 o Turkish Airlines has announced that domestic flights have been suspended until April 20. (Turkish)

World •

Confirmed Global Cases Pass One Million o More than a million cases of coronavirus have been registered globally, according to the latest figures from Johns Hopkins University - another grim milestone as the world grapples with the spreading pandemic. Nearly 53,000 people have died and more than 210,000 have recovered, according to the US university's figures. The US has the most cases, and more than 1,000 died there in the past day. (English)

More Than 6,500 Dead Since March 1 in France o In the past 24 hours, 588 people have died from the Covid-19 in the hospital. If resuscitation services have never been so saturated, the number of people who are admitted daily has been falling for a few days. (French)

Coronavirus Sparks A 'War For Masks' As Accusations Fly o As the coronavirus pandemic spreads across Europe and the United States, a global scramble for protective equipment such as masks and gloves is underway.

Prince Charles Opens New Coronavirus Hospital, Boris Johnson Will Stay In Isolation o Prince Charles will open the new NHS Nightingale hospital at the ExCeL conference centre in London Docklands on Friday, which will eventually be capable of providing support for up to 4,000 coronavirus patients if required. (English) o UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson will stay in self-isolation because he is still showing symptoms of Covid-19. Friday was expected to be Johnson's final day in self-quarantine, after he tested positive for the virus last week. But Johnson said he still has a temperature and will remain isolated, as per the country's guidelines (English) o Britain’s economy looks set for a slump that in the short term could be deeper than during the depression of the 1930s, as a survey showed the coronavirus crisis caused a record downturn among services and manufacturing firms in March. Trump Negative For Coronavirus (Again), Americans Encouraged To Wear Masks o More than 1,000 US service members have coronavirus. At least 1,052 US service members have tested positive for Covid-19 as of this number. This includes one death announced earlier this week. There are now at least 1,752 positive cases across the Department of Defense. (English) o President Donald Trump said he underwent a second coronavirus test on Thursday, using a new diagnostic that produced a result in less than 15 minutes, and it determined he has not been infected. (English) o The Trump administration on Thursday looked set to join local officials in advising Americans to wear masks when venturing out during the still-exploding coronavirus pandemic, as the U.S. death toll rose by 1,000 in a single day for the first time. (English)

China's Wuhan Disinfects Airport As Operations Soon To Resume o Wuhan, the Chinese city hardest hit by the novel coronavirus outbreak, conducted disinfection Friday on the local airport as operations will soon resume on April 8 when the city lifts its travel restrictions. (English)

China Pursues Global Leadership Ambitions o Beijing is bolstering its soft power and taking the lead in a global response to the coronavirus public health crisis. The moves come as China’s daily number of new infections decline while those in the U.S. rise. (English)

The Greek Government Sets Additional Goals In Finance o The Minister of Finance, Mr Tsaikouras, announced that the Government’s goal is to continue to support workers and businesses for next month May by reducing taxes. In the meantime the budget was increased by 5 billion Euros. (Greek) o The Ministry of Labour implements a telecommunication program for 180.000 scientists to attend a 100 hour seminar for €600. (Greek) o 99 new cases have been tested positive bringing the total of confirmed cases to 1613 and deaths to 63. (Greek)

Dow Falls Slightly Amid Volatile Trading On Wall Street o Stocks fell slightly on Friday to end another volatile week of trading as investors weighed a massive drop in U.S. jobs along with a spike in oil prices. The Dow Jones Industrial Average slid about 360.91 points lower in wild trading. The S&P 500 dipped 1.5 %, while the Nasdaq Composite also pulled back 1.5 %. (English)

European Shares Dip As Corporate Pain From Coronavirus Outbreak Grows o European shares ended down on Friday. The pan-European STOXX 600 index was down 0.2%. Zurich Insurance Group AG, AXA SA, Munich Re and Prudential fell between 1.9% and 4.2% after the European Union’s insurance regulator asked insurers and reinsurers to temporarily suspend dividends and share buybacks. H&M, the world’s second-biggest clothing retailer, reported a 46% plunge in March sales and said it expected a loss in its fiscal second quarter. (English)

US Jobless Claims Could Soon Exceed 8 Million, Economist Projects o The number of weekly unemployment claims filed in the U.S. could soon exceed 8 million as the fallout from widespread shutdowns amid the coronavirus pandemic continues to worsen, one economist told CNBC on Friday. In the week ending March 28, 6,648,000 Americans filed for unemployment, doubling the previous week’s 3.28 million figure which was itself a record high by a significant margin. (English)
