Turkey’s Coronavirus Death Toll Rises To 574 People o According to the recent statement of Health Minister 3.135 more people have been diagnosed with the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and 73 people have died; bringing the death toll to 574 in Turkey. (Turkish)

We Cannot Keep Virus Under Control Unless We Isolate the Patients o Fahrettin Koca, Minister of Health, delivered a statement following the Coronavirus Scientific Committee meeting. "Any success achieved against the coronavirus is owed to isolation", said Koca and continued, "This is how we were able to prevent the importation of the disease into Turkey. Our primary weapon of defense has been isolation. Isolation becomes more and more important every day. The main objective is to prevent the spread." (Turkish)

First Step Towards Coronavirus Vaccine o Prof. Dr. Aykut Ozkul, a Turkish virologist, has successfully isolated SARS-COV-2, the novel coronavirus, in a bid to produce a vaccine against the deadly disease it causes which has claimed almost 68,000 lives across the globe. (Turkish)

Citizens to Apply for Free Masks via E-State o Applications for the distribution of medical face masks to citizens free of charge, upon an instruction of Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkish President, shall be accepted via e-state. (Turkish)

New Method in Payment of ISKUR Benefits By PTT o It is reported that, within the scope of the precautions taken against the novel coronavirus pandemic, citizens who are entitled to receive ISKUR payments will be able to demand the payments to be transferred to their home address, PTTBank account or their own bank account by filling a form. France Reviews Its Doctrine and Orders Two Billion Masks from China o Subject to a "global competition", French orders for masks abroad are accelerating, said Minister of Health Olivier Véran. 500,000 masks per day were promised to the nursing staff. (French)

Twentieth Day of Confinement Against Coronavirus in France o With at least 7,560 dead, according to figures on Saturday, the epidemic caused by the coronavirus continues to hit France very hard. But Reuters has found that the administration took a month from the time it learned of the outbreak in late December to impose the initial travel restrictions amid furious infighting. (English) o US President Donald Trump has warned Americans to prepare for the "toughest week" of the coronavirus pandemic yet, predicting a surge in deaths. To support states, Mr Trump said his administration would be deploying a "tremendous amount of military, thousands of soldiers, medical workers, professionals". (English) o U.S. President Donald Trump’s pick for the new watchdog overseeing $2.3 trillion in coronavirus-related fiscal spending is not independent enough to do the job, congressional Democrats said on Saturday. (English) o White House officials in recent weeks have been considering opening up the economy while avoiding a health catastrophe as Trump has began agitating for a loosening of his guidelines to get the country back to work. A Extraordinary Sunday: The Queen appears on the Scene; PM Spends Night in Hospital. o The Queen has promised the nation that better days are ahead, during a special address on Sunday. In a rare speech, she acknowledged the grief and financial hardships Britons are facing during the coronavirus pandemic. (English) o Key workers have been "overlooked and underpaid" and there will have to be a "reckoning" after the coronavirus crisis, the new Labor leader Starmer has said. He said funding of the NHS had to be looked at and "we have to think about how we reimagine the economy going forward". (English) o Government could ban outdoor exercise if Britons continue to flout social distancing rules. Matt Hancock told the BBC's Andrew Marr that the government would "take action" if further measures are needed to bring the coronavirus under control. (English) o Prime Minister Boris Johnson is "still very much in charge of the government" despite spending the night in hospital with coronavirus. Mr. Johnson, 55, tested positive for coronavirus 10 days ago. (English)

Cases are Increasing In Greece; No More Nightlife at Mykonos o Additional restrictive measures in the island of Mykonos such as the ban on the movement of citizens every day from 20:00 to 08:00 the next day. (Greek) o The total number of infected people reaches 1.735 and the number of deaths is 73. (Greek)

Russia Published a Moratorium on Bankruptcy Following the Rise of Corona Cases o The number of coronavirus cases in Russia has risen by 658 (536 in Moscow) over the past day to 5,389 in 79 regions. (Russian) o Russian President Vladimir Putin is expected to continue working remotely for at least one more week. (English)

Oil for Less Than $10 A Barrel Is on the Horizon. Will OPEC blink first? o OPEC has an opportunity to restore calm to oil markets experiencing historic levels of volatility. OPEC+ plans to hold a meeting via video conference Thursday where the group could finally make the production cuts that were badly needed weeks ago to make up for the collapse in demand caused by the coronavirus pandemic. China's Bond Market Posts Robust Growth in Q1 o BEIJING - China's bond market registered steady growth in the first quarter (Q1), providing support for the country's social and economic development as well as its fight against the novel coronavirus outbreak. o A total of 12 trillion yuan (about US$1.7 trillion) of bonds were issued in Q1, up 14 percent year on year, the People's Bank of China (PBOC) said Sunday in an online statement. Coronavirus Erases 18 Trillion USD From Global Share Markets o Covid-19 resulted in a value loss by 20 pct in the global share markets in the Q1 while market value of the traded companies fell by over USD 18 trillion to below USD 70 trillion. (Turkish)

Tesla Cuts Contractors from California, Nevada Factories Due to Covid-19 o The electric carmaker is axing contractors at both its vehicle assembly plant in Fremont, California, and at its Gigafactory outside of Reno, Nevada. Tesla’s production and delivery was largely unaffected by the coronavirus outbreak in the first three months of the year, before it began suspensions at its Fremont plant last month. (English)

Berkshire Hathaway Sells Part of Delta, Southwest Airline Stakes o Warren Buffett’s Berkshire Hathaway Inc (BRKa.N) said on Friday it sold about 18% of its stake in Delta Air Lines Inc (DAL.N) and 4% of its holdings in Southwest Airlines Co (LUV.N) this week, as the coronavirus pandemic drives the airline industry into perhaps its biggest crisis ever. China Computer Giant Reports Production Record Despite Virus o HEFEI - A total of 2.72 million units of computers were churned out in March at LCFC (Hefei) Electronics Technology Co., Ltd, the largest PC R&D and manufacturing base of Chinese tech giant Lenovo, helping LCFC earn a monthly revenue record of more than 10 billion yuan (about US$1.41 billion). On March 27, more than 124,500 units of computers rolled off the production line, registering a record high of daily output at the computer enterprise in east China's Anhui Province, said LCFC. Robot Brings Hastings Gallery Art into People's Homes o An art gallery has hired a robot to help enable would-be visitors to enjoy its exhibits during the coronavirus pandemic. It was developed as an aid for people with disabilities but has been adapted for use in the East Sussex gallery so people who cannot leave home during the lockdown can art. (English)

F1 Needs Big Changes to Survive o Formula 1 is "in a very fragile state" as a result the coronavirus crisis and needs big changes to survive, McLaren boss Zak Brown says. Cost-saving plans will be discussed at a meeting on Monday. (English)

3 Fiorentina Players Recover from Coronavirus o Three players of Serie A club Fiorentina; Patrick Cutrone, German Pezzella, and Dusan Vlahovic have recovered from the novel coronavirus. ''ACF Fiorentina is delighted to announce that tests have revealed that Patrick Cutrone, German Pezzella, and Dusan Vlahovic are no longer positive for COVID-19,'' the Italian football club said in a statement on Sunday.
