Death Toll in Turkey is 131 o Ministry of Health has reported that 1.815 people have been diagnosed with the Covid-19 in the last 24 hours and 23 more people lost their lives, increasing the number of cases to 9.217 and death toll to 131 in total. (Turkish)

Minister Soylu Talks About “Curfew” o Suleyman Soylu, Interior Minister, replied questions of Cuneyt Ozdemir concerning the coronavirus. On the curfew, Soylu talked as follows: “It is highly important for us to keep four issues on the agenda all the time. We are trying to ensure health, public order, food-hygiene, and social isolation. These four issues are of vital importance. Unless we ensure them, we will take all precautions.” (Turkish)

Limitation of Commercial Taxis for Licence Plate o Taxis in the three most populous Turkish provinces – Istanbul, Ankara and İzmir – will be restricted as part of measures to stem the spread of the novel coronavirus, the Interior Ministry said Sunday. Taxis with an odd last number on their license plate will be allowed to operate from 12:01 a.m. Monday for the next 24 hours, a circular by the ministry said, adding that taxis with an even last number on their license plate will be allowed to operate for the same duration the following day. The ministry added that the system will run sequentially for the following days. (Turkish)

Ankara Governorate Take New Epidemic Precautions o Ankara Governorate has banned children from entering bazaars and supermarkets, and also passenger transportation via internet-based applications. (Turkish)

World Health Organization: Coronavirus Is Not Airborne o The World Health Organization says the virus that causes Covid-19 doesn't seem to linger in the air or be capable of spreading through the air over distances of more than about 3 feet. (Turkish)

The Covid-19 killed 292 people in France in twenty-four hours. o Sunday evening, the toll is about 2,606 dead. In the United States, Doctor Fauci estimates that the pandemic could claim “between 100,000 and 200,000” victims. (French) o The French government is preparing to face new black days. “The fight is just beginning. The first fifteen days of April will be even more difficult than the last fifteen days which have just passed”. These words were pronounced by the French Prime Minister on Saturday during a press conference. (French)

Spain, Only Second to Italy: Second Day with a Record on Death Toll o For the second day running Spain has registered a record number of daily deaths from Coronavirus. There were 838 fatalities announced on Sunday. It brings the total number of deaths from the virus to 6,528. Spain has been in lockdown for two weeks under a national state of emergency. (English)

Is UK Ready for a 6 Months Lockdown? Are the Retired NHS Staff Returning Back? o The UK could remain on partial lockdown for six months, deputy chief medical officer Dr Jenny Harries has said, warning of a second peak if such measures are ended too quickly. (English) o Safe travel: UK’s bike company offers free and safe method NHS staff to get to work. (English) o The UK may not have all the ventilators it needs by the time coronavirus cases in the country reach their peak, engineering firms warned. Health officials expect the UK to experience its highest number of infections in around two weeks' time. U.S. virus deaths could reach 200,000, Fauci warns as medical supplies run short: o The U.S. coronavirus death toll topped 2,300 on Sunday, after deaths on Saturday more than doubled from the level two days prior. The United States has now recorded more than 130,000 cases of COVID-19, the disease caused by the virus, the most of any country in the world. (English) o Partisan divide returns in U.S. Congress on coronavirus next steps: fresh partisan divisions flared on Sunday on the next steps for the U.S. Congress in dealing with the coronavirus crisis, with the top House of Representatives Republican casting doubt on the need for more economic stimulus legislation while House Speaker Nancy Pelosi signaled she plans to move forward with it. Three months that shook global markets o The numbers have been staggering. $15 trillion has been wiped of world stock markets, oil has slumped 60% as Saudi Arabia and Russia have started a price war and emerging markets like Brazil, Mexico and South Africa have seen their currencies plummet more than 20%. In less than 20 days, European states have released large budgets. o Expenses deemed sufficient by economists: this ranges from 1.4% for Spain, 1.9% for France to 3.9% of GDP for Germany. (French)

The global automotive industry is experiencing “the most serious crisis in its history”. o The shutdown of car production chains around the world could cause sales to fall between 10% and 25%, according to forecasters. (French)

Tesco restricts online orders to 80 items each: o In an email to customers it said that the aim was "to increase the number of customers we can safely deliver to”. It is the latest move by supermarkets to safeguard people and supplies during the coronavirus pandemic. Supermarkets will also use a government database of 1.5 million vulnerable shoppers in England to help prioritize delivery slots. (English)

Domestic Flights of THY Determined o Bilal Eksi, General Manager of Turkish Airlines, wrote in his Twitter account that reciprocal flights from Istanbul to Adana, Izmir, Kayseri, Erzurum, Gaziantep, Konya, Malatya, Samsun, Antalya, Diyarbakir, Ankara, Trabzon and Van shall be scheduled. (Turkish)

UEFA has alternative plans to save football seasons o European football's governing body UEFA said on Friday that it made three plans to save seasons halted over the coronavirus pandemic. "We could start again in mid-May, in June or even late June," UEFA chief Aleksander Ceferin told an Italian daily, La Repubblica. "The season will probably be lost," Ceferin said if the current situation remains the same in 2020 summer. (Turkish)

Air pollution and CO2 fall rapidly as virus spreads: o Researchers in New York told the BBC their early results showed carbon monoxide mainly from cars had been reduced by nearly 50% compared with last year. (English)
