Death Toll from Coronavirus Rises to 168 o As many as 37 more people died of the novel coronavirus in Turkey in the past 24 hours, according to figures released by the country's Health Ministry on Monday, bringing the death toll to 168. The total number of confirmed coronavirus cases surged to 10,827 as 1,610 more people tested positive for the virus, according to the ministry. (Turkish)

We’re Launching A National Solidarity Campaign o Recep Tayyip Erdogan, Turkey's President, on Monday launched a National Solidarity Campaign to aid fight against the novel coronavirus, donating seven of his monthly salaries to the initiative. "I am launching the campaign personally by donating my seven-month salary," Erdogan said in his address to the nation. Cabinet members in the government and lawmakers have donated TRY 5.2 mn to the campaign, he added. (Turkish)

Applications for Travel Permit Document Can Be Reached On E-State Portal o Presidency Digital Transformation Office has announced that applications to Travel Permit Document can be reached on E-State portal within the scope of coronavirus measures. (Turkish)

Sea Bus and Ferryboat Services in Istanbul Were Halted o Sea bus and ferryboat services transporting passengers in Istanbul were halted as of yesterday at 17:00. (Turkish)

What is Same in Nigeria, Zimbabwe And The City Of Moscow? Lockdown o March 30th, due to the pandemic caused by the coronavirus. In total, more than 3.4 billion people, or 43% of the world's population, are confined or called to stay at home in nearly 80 countries or territories, according to a count made by Agence France-presse (AFP). The Region Of Paris Is The Most Affected Region In France o French army helicopters and a German military plane took patients to southwestern Germany to overcome the insufficient capacity of the French hospitals. (French)

The National Agency For Safety Of Medicines And Health Products (ANSM) Warned o ANSM warned that the treatments tested against Covid-19 could cause serious adverse effects and should "NEVER" be used for self-medication. (French)

(English) o F1 Team, University Boost U.K. Drive to Make Breathing Aids: As The U.K. effort to get more breathing aids into hospitals to help them cope with the coronavirus, Engineers from a Mercedes Formula 1 team and University College London said in a statement they’d helped to develop a new breathing aid for patients that could free up ventilators for only the most critical cases.(English)

Trump Extends Social Distance Guidance And Announces Stimulus Package o These Americans say $1,200 isn't enough. But it's better than nothing: As the impact of the coronavirus pandemic continues to take a toll on people's financial lives, the federal government is sending some help. But for the average American who was already struggling to pay their bills and now faces job loss or an uncertain future, the payments likely won't be enough. (English) o President Trump extends social distancing guidance until end of April: Days after President Trump said he hoped the country would be “opened up and raring to go” by Easter, he instead announced on Sunday an extension of federal guidance on social distancing through April, in a continued effort to slow the spread of the novel coronavirus. Coronavirus Cases In Greece Spread Slowly and Rises To 1.212 o Greek PM calls on politicians to contribute half of their wages for the next two months to a special fund in the battle against coronavirus. (English) o China sends 1.7 million surgical masks to Greece. (Greek) o The Infectious disease specialist Mr Tsiodras has emphasized the vaccination to children at this period in order to prevent outbreaks of vaccine-preventable diseases and further exacerbation of the health system. Most of The Places Are Isolated In Russia o Moscow yesterday woke up to a lockdown with 1,836 confirmed cases and nine deaths. Today the Russian parliament is scheduled to approve a bill that imposes prison terms of up to seven years and fines of up to 2 million rubles (about $25,000) — average monthly salary hovers around $500 — on violators of the lockdown. (English) o Most of Moscow’s Coronavirus patients are younger than 40. (Russian) o St. Petersburg was put into partial lockdown until 5th April. For those over 65 selfisolation will be until 14th April and they will be benefited by a 2.000 rubles (Russian)

Wall Street Gains as Investors Weigh Stimulus Against Shutdown o Wall Street rose on Monday as President Donald Trump followed last week’s massive fiscal stimulus package by extending his stay-at-home guidelines, leaving investors hopeful that the economic impact of the coronavirus could still be contained. China Says Manufacturing Activity Expanded in March o China on Tuesday said the official Purchasing Manager’s Index for March was 52.0, beating expectations for an economy hit by the coronavirus outbreak. Analysts polled by Reuters had expected the official PMI to come in at 45 for the month of March. (English)

Salary Support For 3 Months o “We shall provide citizens who work for companies which reduced or halted their activities with support of salary for 3 months through the Short-Time Working Benefits within the scope of the Economic Stability Shield. We call on all companies to apply these benefits instead of unpaid leave, said Berat Albayrak, Treasury and Finance Minister. (Turkish)

All Enterprises May Apply Short-Time Working Benefits o Zehra Zumrut Selcuk, Minister of Family, Labour and Social Services, has noted that the short-time working principle does not have any limitation of sector and all enterprises which reduced or halted their activities may apply. Minister also said each of 2.111 households in need shall receive support payment of TRY 1000 as of April 1st. (Turkish)

Scope of Taxes Paid Via Credit Card Is Expanded o As per the announcement on the website of the Revenue Administration, all tax, fee, and administrative penalty fine collected by the tax offices could be paid through Interactive Tax Office by using credit cards. (Turkish)

Johnson & Johnson and U.S. Government Plans $ 1 Billion Investment of Coronavirus Vaccine o Johnson & Johnson said on Monday that it and the U.S. government will invest $1 billion to create enough manufacturing capacity to make more than 1 billion doses

Billionaire Richard Branson Wants To Help Make Ventilators: o Virgin is the latest company to lend its support to making much-needed ventilators for coronavirus patients. Billionaire Richard Branson said its rocketlaunch division Virgin Orbit would start looking into ways it can make the lifesaving equipment. Carmakers General Motors (GM) and Ford have also pledged to start production of ventilators. GM said it can make 10,000 a week once fully operational. (English)

Van Gogh Painting Stolen From Dutch Museum o Thieves stole a painting by Dutch master Vincent van Gogh overnight from the Netherlands’ Singer Laren Museum, currently closed to the public because of the coronavirus, its director said on Monday. (English)

Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics: New dates confirmed for 2021 o The Tokyo Olympic Games will start on 23 July, 2021 and run to 8 August after being postponed for a year because of the coronavirus pandemic. (English)

Lionel Messi announces players will take 70% pay cut o Barcelona players will take a 70% pay cut during the coronavirus pandemic and make additional contributions to ensure non-sporting staff receive full wages. (English)

Fatih Terim Is Discharged From The Hospital After The Covid-19 Treatment o Turkish Super League club Galatasaray's manager Fatih Terim was discharged from the hospital on March 30 after seven days of treatment for coronavirus. (Turkish)
